This tends to happen with anything popular. It gets a backlash from the counter-culture. The most successful movie of all time is, of course, gonna have the most vocal backlash. There's a lot of contrarians who feel the need to "balance" out any love-fest with hate.

well, she is a good actress, so you can't really tell. Many actors don't like watching themself on screen because most "normal" people don't like that. But in this case it'S all CGI so i guess it's easier.

It's one of those few movies where even the actors are flabbergasted by the movie, even though they've acted through it. They'll be surprised watching themselves in a new Avatar, ( forgive the pun) and all other visual elements that weren't present during filming.

The first Avatar movie was actually rereleased for like one or two weeks back in September

You missed out by not seeing it in IMAX 3D. The experience was just on another level that blew people's minds. My grandmother who was 63 at the time and hated going to the movies, paid to see it 3 times in IMAX 3D. We had to nag the hell out of her to even go the first time

@@chelseaamara7218 IMAX has bigger, taller screens (and some movies were filmed specifically for IMAX so you can see more on screen), but Dolby atmos is a better experience all around. Better video and sound quality with Atmos. More immersive experience. 😊

Happy for you, I'm also super excited. It's my favorite movie of all time and I've been waiting for nearly 7 years for this one.

I think a big part of why a lot of people hate on the first movie is because they don’t like some of the humans being depicted as the bad guys destroying the natural landscapes. Although, some humans destroy natural landscapes in real life too.

Because it is a story we seen so many times. White person coming into a native land who didn’t understand it, now help save it. Cameron couldn’t do anything different?

It was about saving planet Earth and taking proper care of its ecosystems, rather than taking them over and causing destruction for our personal gain. Yes, it’s a story about justice and sacrifice for the purpose of preserving one’s way of life. But it’s about a fight for nature. Not a fight against discrimination or current racial tensions. The Na’vi could easily represent the millions of animal species across our world who’re incapable of overpowering the destruction that human beings have caused towards their habitats, and who are therefore helpless and unable to defend their homes. Clearly animals would not revolt in the ways the Na’vi do, as it is fictional and the beings are quite evolved. However, I’m using that example to highlight how the film is meant to focus on nature, not the human race and it’s racial division or colonial history. - A large cause for backlash during the time the film was released was due to Cameron’s depiction of people, and their role in the destruction of the environment. And he made it clear in statements prior to and following the release of the original, that he “wanted to make an environmentally conscious mainstream movie”, (LA Times).

At the very least, it will win for visual effects. It looks incredible.

It’s the highest grossing film of all time The re release this year alone made 35 million over a decade after first release , the Avatar ride at Disney world is their most popular attraction People absolutely love avatar but sadly a lot of the online community that’s against it have made us think they’re the majority They are not

The vast majority of people don't hate avatar. The haters are a very vocal minority. The amount the first movie has made speaks for itself. A movie doesn't make well over 2 billion if it is mostly hated
