Welcome back bra Mzolisto. . . You've been dearly missed in the music scene. . . Please release a come back album. . We are your congregation, #preach .
My journey with Zola began in 2001 when he dropped the legendary Umdlwembe album. I was young, staying in the deep rural, remote under developed area in Swaziland.I had an older brother who was schooling in town, when he came home during school holidays, he came back with the tape of Umdlwembe. He loved the tape so much, but i managed to negotiate with him, he finally agreed to sell me the tape at 20 bucks. During school holidays(three weeks), i visited my father in town, during those holidays, i was bumping the tape from morning till sunset. When schools opened,i knew every song word for word. I still have the tape! His music parented me, inspired me,sometimes evoked those gangster aspirations. I must say that when Umdlwembe dropped, it was so influencial that most of the brothers i grew up with lost their path, they became hooligans etc, when they heard the violence in his music, i heard something different, i heard a young man, who like many of us faced challenged, sometimes had no food to eat but he never gave up. I heard poetry and hip hop(e) in kwaito, kwaito was revolutionalised, kwaito was nolonger about parties and those one line songs, finally kwaito had sense. Zola has been since!!!
I respect Mzolisto, yinja ye game. I love the resilience and the patience kuyena. I look up to him as a big brother life has ever blessed us with.......SALUTE SOLDIER!!
