This is not at all surprising. Our cook easily earns around 60K a month, with no taxes. She gets around 6K - 8K per house and cooks in 7 - 8 houses in a day.

I am a Software Engineer and waiting for the fall of it, I don't want to over-populate it.

I worked for zomoto, if your earning 40000 per month , 10000 goes to petrol ( if vehicle gives milage of 42 to 46) 1000 to 1500 per vehicle maintenance. you can save around 25000 to 27000 ( lunch, dinner and tips which given by customer through cash method not included )

They also get free food whenever a customer cancels the order 😂😂😂

Delivery guy is earning 50k but they need to pay for bike and petrol charges

Lol an engineer gets free medical insurance for himself and his family, paid leaves , sick leaves ,casual leaves, vacations, pf , gratuity benefits, moreover he does not have to risk his life and health in traffic , dust and rain. An IT engineer career trajectory can cross boundaries and he could land up in a foreign country if he hits the right momentum such oppurtinities are far reaching for any delivery guy. An apple to orange comparsion is dumb in my opinion

The one thing this Zomato and all should do, is to allow consumers to buy the rider some food and coffee etc apart from tipping. They do a hard job. It would be good to be able to offer a little kindness to them.

While joining as a delivery partner We have to pay 1500 rupees as on boarding fee And in between they will take commission in each order and app maintainance charge I don't know why this Channel ignored considering petrol money while speaking about delivery guys who drives bike. Disappointed .

I don't get the media narrative.. why such a comparison with IT particularly. Zomato delivery boys who earn good money deserve to get what they do, we all see them running in rush to deliver the food to everyone. So when you cater service to mass in India, this is great example that deliver boy can earn such high. There is no need to compare with any profession, especially when you know this is completely different sort of work, saying in all good ways. 70 hours a week is hats off but I wish Zomato takes care of these delivery boys by giving ride and health insurances and security. Great job Zomato on setup of this scalable framework over long period of time. An important aspect is how you sustain it with almost the same delivery boys which you have now. It's very important that the eco model works great both for delivery partners and you over the long run. Until Zomato vs. swiggy happens it's not a sustainable industry unfortunately.. Wish they become one at some point to build a sustainable model for future generations.😊

They are not delivery boys, they are Executive Food Delivery Officers.

Bro. You earn more than a doctor. In state government hospital avarage salary of doctors is 50k. In my state (WB), salary of a senior resident is 50k. & 70k for super specialist. The whole nation is misleading for this hype of doctors.but a Good Engineer earns more than a doctor.unless the doctor is not in private practice. We just unaware of real side of engineering. Skill Engineer earns a lot.

They deserve more for the hard work.

Please don't fall for this type of baseless comparison as software engineer vs delivery boy initially it looks lukerative as delivery boy earnings but trust me in long run engineer earnings will be more then 10X, I am also software engineer from tire 3 city, after completing my becholers in CS in 2014 and after 6 month of internship I got job with 6000 rs salary only at that time I am also frustrated because my cousins and some friends which dropout and started mediocre job and earning 30000rs per month its more then 5x of my earning but without distraction I continued working as software engineer despite low salary now in 2014 after 10 years i am earning more then 3 lakh per month for just working 40 hours a week and my cousins are still at 60000, 10 years before they are earning 5X then me now equations are changed now I am earning 5X also money is just one aspect there is other benefits also like respect which I get is more satisfying so friend's please don't fall for this kind of Distractions

I am also preparing for competitive exams after graduation but one thing i will say is most corporate employee don't have wide range of skills. You should have certificates on different skills and courses related to your stream. So, that you can be that one flexible component which company feels safe to play around in their growth by placing you in the utmost needed vacancies and skipping cost and time headed recruitment process.

No shame in becoming a Delivery Person. I after being an engineer worked as a mechanic in small garages. Now I too have my own enterprise and am fairly successful.

I work in IT and I earn up to 40k per month but my office cab driver earns 80k-1lac per month😭 but yeah they have to bear all the fuel and vehicle maintenance cost.

There are times when I find myself thinking about being a delivery boy or an Uber driver. The idea of meeting new people every single day, each with their own unique stories and experiences, is incredibly appealing. Just imagine the level of those interactions-learning about different families, backgrounds, and personal journeys. It would be like living a hundred different lives through the tales of the passengers or customers you encounter. maybe the reason why they are make more money is because people avoid blue colour work and the sudden rise of all these delivery services like Zomato , blinkit and etc they require a new workforce . but the majority of orders are made in big cities where there is a lack of people trying for blue colour this Trent is also prominent in west where construction works make more than bankers

Zomato ya swiggy rider 40000 ho tha leken weekly 2000 petrol and every month bike service 1500 . Is ke alwa it employees ko office may kaam karna hota hai. Aur rider ko kisi mausm may kaam karna hota hai road par jaha heavy traffic melta banglore city jaise may.

Don't misguided people, not every zomato delivery boy earn same amount, like fresher, once you have 1 or 2 years of experience in software engineering you will get 40,000 salary starting and it goes up, padhana chod de aur yahi kro, sharm kro

One can do physical work if age is on your side and have good health to withstand the sun, dust, rains, pollution and traffic. A software engineer does a desk job. Blue collar workers face higher risks to their health. White collar workers have opportunity for moving across companies and career growth. Ultimately what you do has to be useful work and/or critical work for society. If a worker washing dishes in a restaurant is more critical to the restaurant owner than a software engineer making a website for the same restaurant, then it makes sense for the restaurant owner to see less value in the engineer

Software engg salary won't increase in Indian currency term as the IT companies are working on labor cost arbitrage model where they just get the contract of IT work from the foreign clients at the pay scale of foreign truck drivers there and after that cut commission at the extent of 50-60%. As more and more AI is now grabbing these type of work, these foreign clients will be reluctant to pay more. So worse days ahead.

Atleast delivery guy tells salary openly but IT ppl wont tell

A feed delivery guy makes 40k a month regardless of how long he works in that field. It guys gain experience and increase their salaries 10x in 6-7 years. It is like saying trainee pilots make a pittance, which they until they get the full pilot benefit and make the money back in spades.

Downgrading and comparing Engineers to other professions is not good Every profession is good in its own right

Just to get more info on it.., do the travel cost (petrol & vehicle maintenance) gets covered by app or by delivery partner? Coz if delivery partner has to bear the cost, it there should be a better breakdown on how much he saves after all those costs...

They also spend a lot on petrol and work more harder here physical stress takes place whereas in IT you have to sit and work and education has a more productive application in life .

I have listened many dilevery partner saying that during COVID time there earning use to be a lakh. Although most of the dilevery people earn 50k their is one big expense for many riders i.e bike rentals. Many people do dilevery from rental bikes like yulu and zypp and yulu rental plan hiked up twice in 1 year. Soo if anyone thinking to join please keep this in mind

Point is on one side 10 lakh+ 4 years are required to get a job of ₹20k while on the other hand you need a bike and driving skills to start earning this much. Calculate the RoI

i hv seen two of my friends doing it full time , the hard work and body pain is too much this job is not for everyone

It's all about demand and supply. We have so many engineers and less jobs , so this situation is obvious. Now as per new reports, even IITs and IIMs struggling to place their students, govt and pvt sector need to focus here, else we will face mass unemployment

After earning 40k a month, how is he able to do 30k savings? Rent+Food in a month under 10k?

12 hours ki shift mein 1 din mein minimum 200 rs or 300 rs ka petrol to lagega hi. 6000-8000 rs ka petrol. Bimonthly bike service -1500 rs to lagega. 50k - 10k 40 k ke around hoga income. Still good but not enough as more delivery pppl will add and it will reduce incomt

I wish you guys earn more and bring equality between all strata of society. Take home of 6 - 8 lakhs per annum should be recognized and respected. It is something "educated" should re-think about.
