Wow. 13:49 Steve just paid a huge compliment to the game designers for talking about how detailed the minis are down to he even looked like a merchant and the guy next to him acted like he was an idiot for taking the time to admire the detail in this game.
Love to see these XP trackers be made for the old Zombicide survivor cards. Sale the base so that you can insert the survivor cards you already own would be fine with me. I'd even buy them if they made totally new XP trackers similar to these for the old Zombicide games survivors lol. Love it! :)
Hello ! :) Many thanks for that great and fun video. Can you explain to me the concept of "stall" 24:58 . I thought a zone was a room. But for the stables, there are in fact 3 separate rooms ? O_o
I've watched this video (more times than I care to admit), never having played the game, and am thoroughly entertained . . . what does that say about me?
I, too, would like to see more gameplay footage to prepare for playing when the kickstarter arrives in two months. I'd also like to see some painting tutorials specifically for the Zombicide Black Plague minis.
I'm new to Zombicide, so this may be a dumb question. But did Baldric accidentally cheat at 31:30? He takes six actions (two moves and four spells). Unless I missed something, he would get a max of five actions at that point (1 free spell for spellcaster + 3 base actions + 1 extra action for leveling up).
I'm guessing James doesn't care at this point, but for anyone else who was wondering: Spellcaster +1 magic action, +3 base actions, +1 action for yellow, +1 free magic action for orange for the 6 actions taken by Baldric.
You would be correct if he was in orange, but he levels up to yellow during that turn. He doesn't make it to orange. He did indeed take one action too many. But with much hindsight now, this is the least worrisome rule situation I've seen with Z:BP....
• for the people who complain that it is too long, too easy, or too something else, you can just modify the scenario... it can get as easy or hardas you can make it. • from experience, what happens is that increasing the size of the board doesn't mean the story will be more epic, just that it will take longer; • less players = more challenge and faster paced games; (...)
black plague and traitors in my custom game, i have 5 blank cards with a traitor card. then each player draws a card. whoever gets the traitor card is a traitor. he wont tell you tho. he will act normal until he reaches a blue or green objective. then he will reveal he is a traitor. and will attack the other 5 survivors. he is also bitten and is responsible for helping the zombies and necromancers get into the city. the player controlling the traitor can control where the zombies go. and he wins if all the other survivors die, and loses if the other survivors win. since he is already infected, zombies will ignore the traitor. (traitor now has control of the zombies). if the traitor dies before reaching the objective, he is expsoed and loses the game. if the traitor dies after reaching the objective, he will be resurrected at a spawnpoint of his choice at the beginning of zombie phase. the traitor also gains zombie link.
54:08 Shouldn't the 3 lady walkers on the purple trap door had to split up? They had to move 4 spaces to Ann through the building and also 4 spaces through the catacombs to baldric - Both generate 3 noise. Because the walkers are uneven they should have spawned to 4 walkers and split up in 2 by 2. Am i right?
Correct me if Im wrong but did none of the players notice that the Orcish crossbow was both a melee and ranged weapon? melee: 0 range, 2 dice, 3+, 2 dmg. Range: 1-2, 2 dice, 3+, 2 dmg. Or am I reading that wrong? Works like Ma's shotgun from what I noticed with exception of range.
Orcish crossbow is also a melee weapon, so he would have gotten 3 dice using it (around 45 minute mark), plus he doesn't have to reload when using it as a melee.
@coolminiornot Dont you generate noise on failed open door actions? I mean you hit the door but it breaks not in that case, the noise should still be there nope?
31:52 Wizard takes 5 actions when should have taken 4 (that's not including his free spell). He first killed the fatty for a free spell, leveled up and had 4 actions remaining. Then he proceeded to move 2 times and attack 3 mobs. Unless I'm not understanding the rules correctly, that's 5 actions.
Hou are right, he did levelled up and had 4 actions left after his free magic action. But when he moved and attacked (2 actions) he then proceded to say "I still have 3 actions". that's the error
since 30', many zombie moves are wrong. You always make them follow corridors instead of crushing their heads to closed doors triyng to reach the noisest area.Great gameplay and funny session, but not to be followed to learn rules.
For single player would you have to control 4 heroes? Or 2 player for 2 heroes each? Or does it spawn less zombies kind of like descent's monster groups size?
I know this video is old but it's just plain wrong. The upper right tile is turned the wrong way, there are 4 and not 6 survivors, not enough spawn points and runners get 2 moves per activation so they should move one square upon spawn. There are other mistakes throughout the video.
If you guys are behind this game - I ordered the first one and is currently waiting for it - maybe you could shed some light on two issues that has cropped up in my research of the games: 1. Why do you have to target a survivor first in a section with a zombie with ranged weapons? Never heard about random chance? 2. What was that about you can become a half-zombie or something with more hitpoints and still be able to work with the rest of the survivors? I would really like to know what you smoked when you came up with these ideas, and I would also like the adress to your dealer of the stuff. Because seriously, you can't have been sober in any way when you came up with those two rules.
i didn't make zombicide, but i can explain why those rules are made. 1) original zombicide: zombies are weak. range weapons are too powerful. no ammo is required to fire them. compared to melee weapons. Zombies are not humans if they get hit in the leg or body, they won't lose morale or flee the scene, they will continue to attack your survivor. your survivor (without skills like sniper, steady hand, point-blank, etc) is not a trained marksman. that is why he would end up hitting nothing or hit his friend while the zombie woulda killed his friend either way. a kill in zombicide means you hit a zombie head, so it stops moving completely. if you only grazed it or hit its legs or hands, those shots are considered misses. zombies forcing his way to your friend's face your friend (resisting the zombie with whatever he is equipped) ^ | | | | | You with a gun they removed that system in zombicide black plage because most players were complaining. most zombicide players tend to act without really thinking and get in the way of allies' firing range. and they don't trade weapons. that is why. spend one action point to trade weapons and kill the zombie. think of it like this, you ran out of bullets and had to use a melee weapon that your friend tossed at you to hack the zombie in half. (remember you are not a trained fighter, your melee attack may still fail to hit the zombie's face and hit its body or hand or the zombie has a steel bucket on his head and your attack would be considered a miss) 2) zombivors have more health, BUT they are slower! meaning they can't escape 3 zombies occupied areas at yellow danger level!!! the characters are for custom scenarios and stories. if you don't like them, place a rule saying, no zombivors allowed in any of the missions you play. simple as that.
I wonder if it will be possible to adapt some of these rules to the old Zombicide. I have funded Black Plaque purely for the dashboard and these new rules. Actually, I'm more into fantasy as well. I can not wait for this to ship.
Hey guy's, could you please help in one question. Im just wondering regarding jump skill. Can I used it to jump on the tower top? In the description it says up to 2 zones with line of sight. Thank you!
Guys, I have a question. Lets say you killed two necromancers (both which spawned from the same spawn zone) and the players decided to remove every other spawn point after killing the necros. So in this scenario, we have all 3 spawn points in the same space/square. When we draw the next necro, where does he walk from here?
you allways add/remove one spawn point when dealing with a necro, so you will never find yourself in a situation where you have less spawn points than what you started with
You have to get all the objectives though, so you still needed to get into the last room and get the final objective. I know the weird way the instructions were worded did not make this as clear as it ought to have, and we made that mistake the first time we played and only realized it too far into the game to have managed to finish the game the proper way.
The last spawn: it looks like the first spawn point spawned a couple of fatties and the second draw, which should have been for the necromancer created spawn was a double spawn card yet the double spawn ended up only on the first spawn?
coolminiornot It would be great if we can add some spawn cards from Black Plague to the previous seasons and vice-versa. For instance, the crows would be a perfect fit for black plague and I would love the Minotaur Abomination and the Wolf-Bomination on my previous games... As as suggestion, such "compatibility spawn cards" could come as a stretch goal.
Spartiatai300 +coolminiornot Yes! Yes! So, please, provide a way that we can combine our games! It would be awesome! As it is optional, it would not get in the way of who do not like this mix...
you made a mistake around the half of the video. the necromancer is not supposed to follow ou through the secret vault.. he shouls try to scape to the nearest spawn point thats not yours, which was like right next to that chamber
For everyone bashing the wizard what if he didn't draw the fire spell? I see the game balanced well considering we don't know what the other special weapons are.
30 days i have been waiting for my zombicide black plague box, CMON say I have to chase up where my parcel is not them even though I paid for it in good faith. 10 days since I informed CMON that my parcel had not arrived. THe customer experience from CMON is awful. The e mail I get from them is sort it out yourself and then when I said that was their job CMON said I need to wait while they investigate what has happened to my parcel. How long do I wait for them, I think 10 days is plenty of time to look in a warehouse and check a computer
yes. why? because it is AoE area of effect damage spell. but only missed rolls hit your allies who are in the same zone of the target in this game unlike range attacks from the original game. phew....
+Zylo Thecat Thanks for helping me with that! I went through the rules again and it's just like you say, rolling multiple dice = AoE where the number of successes is the number of hits you can distribute to targets, misses to allies (maybe I'm over simplifying it)
Daniel Velásquez and enchantments are not counted as spell attack. any ability that has +1 free combat action does NOT contribute to enchantment spells such as invisibility, speed, healing, repulse, etc. but speallcaster does give you +1 free action toward enchantment. Baldric for example gets one free enchantment action *or* magic attack per turn. and unlike magic attacks, *most* enchantments can only be used once per turn. enchantments targets are a little more confusing. unlike spells they do not use dice. if you target zombies, it affects every zombie in the zone. if you target a survivor, it only affects that survivor and not every survivor in the zone.
also im pretty sure you guys are missing out on free dice rolls later in about 42 30 ish silas gets an extra dice on ranged attacks but used 1 dice and didn't roll enough to hit? if im not mistaken i just see that isn't being used just trying to work all the rules out as iv just started playing my self xD
Anubis Official yeah there should be one in the top left road too. Not because of only being 4 characters I don't think, I guess just for simplicity and for the sake of demoing the game. They also have less objectives. I played this campaign earlier today with 4 characters and won with all the objectives and spawn points on the board so it's possible playing it normally.
After you killed the abomination with the fire, two characters then moved into the same space within the same round. Would that not have killed them both outright.
Please change the 'dark ritual' rule for Green Horde. It's a game wrecker that ends the game with an unlucky spawn, regardless of how well you are doing.
i know they are tying to be cool, but in zombicide, you mill your equipment deck until you got everything out of it. 1st turn, break into the nearest room and try to get rid of all the zombies in the rooms. 2 nd turn, try to search with everyone and get torches. once you get torches. dual equip 2 torches to get 3 cards per search. then trade the torches with other survivors and get their equipments so they have 3 slots opened. drop any trash weapons that has 1 die, 4+ accuracy, 1 damage short swords. 3 cards x 6 survivors 18 cards per turn. mill that equipment deck. 3-4 turns you will be able to reshuffle all your discarded stuff back into the deck. keep milling that shit. and form a deathball. and steamroll all the blue danger level zombies (hopefully you haven't been killing lots of zombies yet) same strategy over and over again. and it works!
Holay it wouldn't be fun if you die would it? in real life you can search the same room over and over again, that is why i don't like the idea that you can only search each room once. your bedroom may not even have a chainsaw, but if you are searching a woodcutter house or a warehouse, you may find more than one chainsaw! of course you need to spend more actions to pick them all up. but there should be finite number of items in each room. and holding torches shouldn't give survivors more items! so...in real life if you were able to mill your equipment deck during a zombie outbreak, who wouldn't?? if that is what it takes to survive, anyone is willing to do anything... with the use of your brain, conquering mindless zombies becomes very easy.
What is wrong with CMON that they put a massive advertisement on the outside of the shipping box? Who are you advertising to, my mailman, the neighbors in my building or the kids that were supposed to get Black Plague for Christmas? What the hell CMON, knock that shit off.
So from what I see, heroes get few items, and they are just blasting zombies, especially the wizard. Dunno, seems kinda boring to me, I usually like games that are more dangerous for players, where is really hard to survive. Seems almost similar to Super dungeon explore I backed, after heroes get few items, they are basically just slaughtering minions, without them to be able to do much to them...
Zylo Thecat my friends do this for minor mistakes as we are still just learning the games. If it's an OBVIOUS mistake that somebody did just because they didn't quite understand the rules yet we would undo it. I.e not taking into account that runners can run and then attack, or attack twice
You guys played wron you cant move more than once in your 3 actions you only move one and count as action than you can attack or search, moving and searching you can only do once in your turn. Only if you have an ability such as +1 movement
read rules before you comment. you can spend every action to move if you want. you can only search ONCE per turn, most other actions you can do till you are out of actions.
