There are a ton or reports on Facebook that this version is substantially harder than previous versions. There are even complaints of spawns being impossible to survive. I look forward to hearing about your plays of this version!
my wife and I played our first game the other night and we used over half of the brutes on the first zombie spawn. It was rough. And we are going to house rule the if one survivor dies the game ends rule for sure.
I think it's not as hard as is being said. I've now played Missions 0, 1 & 2 solo, with 4 survivors, and haven't lost a single survivor. The scenario's are designed for 6 survivors, so I was outnumbered. One big difference is that playing solo you get to choose who goes first, which might be a big advantage. Still I have only played the base game without extra abominations. Once we'll play it with 6 survivors, I'll add extra abominations to increase difficulty. I had a ton of fun! Looking forward to playing is with my group, and discovering the other missions.
All over the Marvel Zombie's Kickstarter is says there are 4 and 6 character Missions. So some stuff will be max 4 players and some stuff will let you get up to 6.
I feel, from what I've seen of the newer Zombicide releases, I could see going all in with this one. The 4 Player mode, Campaign, just all of it together; yeah I can see this one having legs. Nothing against Marvel Zombies; I see this set and it's usefulness for maybe finally playing some Dead Lands with really cool figs. Just rambling...
@@davidyowow I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think it may have an option for 4, and you use 2 sidekicks. It's either that or a scaling option of some other form. In either light I know 6 still works
The minis and theme look amazing in this game. I'm so torn because I was so happy to back this all-in, until shortly after they announced Marvel Zombies and I don't know that I would have backed Undead or Alive if I knew Marvel Zombies was happening. I guess a few playthroughs, and time will tell.
I feel like they really need to focus less on characters and more on enemy variety. I think there are 60 playable characters there and 4 different types of enemies
I just started the intro game and two brutes spawned in the first round, then an Abomination with four brutes in the end of the second round… Third tide could be a Zombicide cross over!
I find that with all the abominations added and long dead walkers in play there is enough variety. I haven't tried the daily walkers yet purely because CMON didn't provide a set way to add them. I find tgat annoying but I've seen many work around for this
I find adding a daily mini to the group of Walker spawns along with their rules and only being able to kill it after the walkers aka MD2 style really adds to the variety in this. Also Thomas op Vade Retro skill should be nerfed by making the abominations immune to it. I have 1st edition, 2nd edition, this and Marvel Zombies coming but will definitely be keeping Undead or Alive still. 😎👍
I think the only difficult about invader is that Abomination deals 3 damage while fatties deals 2 damage. In some zombicides, Abomination and Fatties deals 1 damage. The game is easier I guess because of concentrate fire. So which is the best of the 3? Marvel Zombies, Undead or Alive or Black Plague?
Prison Break had a great first season and then not so much after that. For a second I was like man you really hated where Lost was going haha, but yeah Lost is one of my all time favorite shows, especially watching it live.
Well, we are enjoying a lot Zombicide Undead or Alive, although it's our first Zombicide game. Now I'm trying to get missing expansions (dead stock and ape/croc) and probably won't get them here in Latvia.
What kind of board game table do you own? It looks nice. I like how the table is almost level with the edges, vs the ones that have the sunken down play area .
In our first go of this Zombicide my husband went into a house, triggered a card, an Abomination came out, grabbed him, and killed him in the first activation. We lasted only one round)
Usually when setting up a mission, you have to put the Abomination spawn point at a specific place on the board. And when an Abomination spawn, it does so from that spawn point… Did you do that or just spawned the abomination in the room where your husband character was?
@@Ederfb78 thank you for the comment, we spawned it in the room, because the card said so (it was part of the Gears and Guns campaign), but maybe we broke the rules here, will check.
Hope all is well Alex! Just an enquiry have you ever played hostage negotiator by van ryder games? I'm patiently waiting for final girl season 1 and 2!!
