You'd be surprised how much praise this remake has received over the years. When it was first released it didn't go over well. All the old timers didn't like it. Over time, new generations of fans are introduced to this film and greatly prefer it over the original. I first saw the 1990 version as a young kid a few years after it was released. This is still my all time favorite zombie film. This and ROTLD for other reasons.

I actually have a theory. The old man that approaches Barbara and Johnny was perhaps attacked by either the first or second zombie. He was in shock from that, and that’s why he said “ I’m sorry “. I also think that the first zombie, or the second zombie came out of the casket and was just wandering around the cemetery at the time. I then noticed that when Barbara runs to the car, she sees the autopsy zombie, and he looks as if he was walking from out the woods. I think he was just another zombie that had appeared in the cemetery at the time.
@buckaroobanzai7063
@buckaroobanzai7063 10 месяцев назад
The zombie with the autopsy cuts was the body from the casket. It was wearing clothes slit down the back that made it easier for the morticians to dress him. So, he had been recently autopsied and was wearing funeral home clothes. It was obviously his funeral.

Has anyone else thought about the first two zombies and the old man in the beginning? My take is, the old man saying "I'm sorry" was the hearse driver/ cemetery caretaker and he was finishing up the end of a service only to discover someone moving inside. He opened it only to discover a zombie. Furthermore, which zombie was in the casket? I have to go with the first zombie that attacks Johnny. The reason is because even though the first zombie has advanced decay, it could be likely that he was given a closed casket service due to his advanced decay. His suit is also covered in soil as he probably fought the caretaker on top of the freshly dug soil mound, presumably hitting his head on the casket and the caretaker then jabbed the zombie with a floral decoration. The second "autopsy zombie" could be highly plausible to have come out of the casket as well if not for the fact that the first zombie already had decay and was dirty. The autopsy zombie most likely would have wandered out from an onsite mortuary/chapel. These are things that most people probably dont waste time in thinking about but its interesting to make sense of.

@@DGsKattKatt another theory i have was both zombies were from the same family plot. the autopsy zombie came out of the casket above ground, and the second zombie clawed his way out of the freshly dug grave from his rotted casket.

@DGsKattKatt 10 месяцев назад
@@motaz1975 could have been. I'm lost on the old dude that said 'I'm sorry'. The only theory I have for that is he was turning. But he also had a head wound...then when Johnny was fighting the one attacking Barbara the old dude stopped suddenly and turned around. I'm lost on that one!🤷🏿‍♀️

lads, here's my chronology... 1 for some reason dead in the area (or nationwide) starts to came back to life (radiation from satellite, virus, origins are still unknown) 2 old man a hearse driver (funeral attendant) arrived before guests to prepare the ceremony (common practice), he took the coffin out of the car (are you able to doing that alone? if not, he had a partner, whose identity still unknown), heard some noise from the coffin, open it, saw autopsy suit zombie (2nd one), panicked, hit his head on the coffin or car, and run away 3 1st zombie (rotten one) probably crawl from the unfinished grave and starts roaming around the cemetery (its hard to believe he could dug out from proper grave of heavy coffin + 1.5 meters of dirt), reasons why was the grave left unfinished unknown, he looks decomposed, so, he definitely spent time in the grave or local mortuary without the freezer 4 old man (hearse driver) spotted the car with people (barbara and johny) and came after them for help, but his head injury and mental shock made him scattered and confused, so he couldn't explain anything just scared barbara, that's why he said i am sorry and decided to go away 5 entire situation + johnys behavior made them unaware to surroundings, which allowed the 1st one zombie (rotten) to get close to them unnoticed hiding behind tall tombstones (but for me its an obvious plothole, there is no way you didn't see a person approaching you in the graveyard) 6 the reason why rotten zombie attack johny and barbara and not the old man is because probably they got some tunnel vision, and old man was out of it///
