I wanted to share a fun story with you. I have a 6 month old son, and like most babies he enjoys falling asleep to music. However, unlike most babies, he ONLY falls asleep to metal. See, when we first brought him home, we were having trouble calming him down to get to sleep. My husband started playing music through RU-vid while rocking the baby one night. We tried lullabies, classical, acapella, even country, but none of them would stop his crying. Then your cover of "Zombie" started, and within 10 seconds our son went silent and curled into his dad, and was asleep before the song ended. Since then, we have been turning on one of your songs for him every night. Tonight it was "Hell Fire" 😆 Sorry this was long, but I wanted to thank you for giving my kid awesome music, and I hope you enjoyed reading about your tiniest fan!

The original song was written by Dolores O'Riordan. The song was a protest against the IRA's (Irish Republican Army) actions during a time in Irish history known as the Troubles. The song was a reaction to the Bombings in Warrington, England, that resulted in the deaths of two young children. The Troubles was a period of violence and civil unrest in Ireland and Northern Ireland that spanned from 1968-1998. The effects of this event are still felt to this day. Despite Ireland celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Cease Fire (Good Friday Agreement) between the mostly Protestant pro-UK Northern Ireland and the rest of the mostly Catholic, Republic of Ireland, people have not forgotten the events. Over 3700 people were killed during that 30-year span of violence. The main groups of the conflict were the IRA, British Security Forces, and the Ulster Volunteers. Peace may exist but the memories of The Troubles still weigh heavy on the minds of those who lived through it. Northern Ireland is facing a suicide crisis from the many victims that survived the Troubles but have been left severely traumatized. Today, a pair of statues in Derry, Northern Ireland, stands as a symbol of peace, hope, and possible union of Ireland. This version that this awesome artist just sang was a newer version, commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement. It was meant to be recorded with a band called "The Bad Wolves" but unfortunately Dolores O'Riordan died from an accident involving alcohol days prior to the recording date. Some of the lyrics were altered to meet a more modern perspective and how the wounds of The Troubles are still visible across Ireland and some parts of Great Britain to this day. Today, North Ireland is far more diverse than it was 20 years ago and there may be a possible reunion of Ireland. Northern Ireland is still part of the United Kingdom but if the people pursue unity, Britain would not stop them. It's up to the people to decide their fate. Will Ireland become united once again? Or will tension between people who share the same Christian values, language, and history remain separated? We will see. EDIT: made much needed corrections. Thanks for the feedback and support.

Great way to start 2019

This song has always been emotional to me cause the original is about all the troubles in northern ireland and my dad grew up in around bombs, gunfire etc, many of his friends were killed and he almost was beaten to death and now I live here, learning about innocent people stories on both sides its heartbreaking what they went through. I've been to so many murals, graves etc. It's a shame most of the world doesn't even know it even happened. Growing up in England people didn't even know about it. Just thought I'd share lol.

Man this is great. So many people who cover Zombie try to make it cleaner sounding and it is the worst thing you could do with the song. The song is a emotionally fuel cry to stop war so making it sound cleaner takes the emotion out of it but you do it right.

This song will never fail to make me weep like a child and feel a deep anger at the same time. Its hard to explain.

The Cranberries was a band on my Bucket list to see. I regret that I’ll never get to see them play live. Between Chester, Dolores and my dad all passing within a 6 month span. It happens in 3s right? I never thought I’d feel the impact of losing someone I’ve never met at hard as Chester’s loss hit me. Then when Dolores passed I was heart broken, devastated and numb all at the same time. Thank you for keeping their music alive with covers. Not nearly enough people can do songs justice the way you do.
