I am about 2 and a half years into playing. I've been practising pretty well everyday for about 2 hours.Barre chords etc are ok; not perfect but ok. I had hit a bit of a wall and was getting bored as I couldn't find anything to inspire me. Your videos have done that!! Your strumming tutorials are the best I have seen. Thankyou 🙏

I can transition from Em to Cmaj7 really well, I can also transition from G to D/F# pretty good, I've pretty much got the strumming down pat. For the life of me, I CAN NOT go from Cmaj7 to the G chord!!! its adding the ring and pinky finger I always have to stop and look, and if I don't, my pinky just will not cooperate!!! Anyone have any tips on how to improve? I picked up a guitar for the first time like 3 weeks ago, I am improving leaps and bounds by practicing for anywhere between 15 minutes minimum or more if I have time everyday, but that is the only thing I simply can not pick up for some reason, is just adding the 2 finger!!

Some do, but basically because they have electronics built into them, you plug them into an amp to make the sound travel so people can hear it. With acoustics, the sound hole is what allows the resonating notes to come out of the body of the guitar and that's what makes it sound. 👍 Electrics don't usually have sound holes because they don't need them. (There are also hollow body electric guitars that can be played without an amp because they have smaller "f" holes that allow the sound to come out of the guitar.)
i am on day 2 with a Gretsch guitar - never played a day in my life. I have been searching RU-vid for the most BEGINNER guitar info and help and BY FAR you have helped me have FUN, which is better than learning anything early on. Got a guitar for Christmas and haven’t touched it since, because with every tutorial I had watched I could never do something right. However, your tutorials have helped a lot! Volume was likely around 8/10 and tone knob was all the way up. Also the play along was using the bridge pickup. 👍 I hope that helps and thanks for watching! 🤗
It’s actually Em, Cmaj7, G6, (d/f# top thick E string 2nd fret) with a strumming pattern of: DDDDUUD UDU. That same strumming pattern goes for each chord you play.

This is another delight to break up my practice time of learning basic skills. I had to take almost a week off for a backpacking trip. Truth be known, I had a little anxiety about being away from my guitar, after just beginning. I started to work with this song after my last formal lesson, and it loomed in my head over the many miles my friend and I trekked. As a side note, my friend had been in a band for years, and after awhile, put his guitar down. Prior to our trip, I told him about taking lessons/ laughing about my finger tips aching in the beginning etc. When we began our trip, he told me he dusted off his guitar and began playing again after hearing me talk about taking lessons. During the trip, we ran into some foul weather, and kinda confessed to one another what we looked forward to when we got home (hot shower, warm & unhealthy food, sleep), but we both agreed on playing guitar. We spoke a lot about playing during meals, mostly me listening to his journey. I did tell him about your videos and how they showed me I could do this. My friend said he began playing again, because he was impressed with my desire to learn. So, that same energy brought another soul back to playing and continuing this journey. You’re touching a lot of people. If I can do this at 56 and my friend can pick his guitar back up (he’s in his mid 50s too) so can others! Praise God for your wonderful gift… Please keep sharing it!
