It's hard for me to believe that I was able to make zombies look "semi-decent." When comparing against the masters of Greg Nicotero, Tom Savini, and so many other great makeup artists. I have next to no skills in the makeup arena, but tried to learn from RU-vid videos and just getting creative. I'm hoping the next ones I do up look good as it's been a few years since I've made up the zombies.
Damh the zombies from the original "Night of the Living Dead" you know the black and white version had more realistic looking zombies!!!!! Even "Thriller" they looked better lol but I am enjoying the story
My only issues are them being in such desperate need of food, but not taking the items from the fridge, however small the cache was, and not even looking out the window before opening the door. That said, I get that you have to get the dramatic moments somewhere, so that's why people sometimes do seemingly pointless things in movies and in books. I have to see more to know how I really feel about this series, so I am off to watch more. Thanks for sharing, it's a good start so far :-) -Amanda M.Heath
I know I’m kinda late, but for your zombies, the best thing to do for them is 1. Have them growl or look like they are growling more so that the zombie noises make sense and 2. Have any skin showing look the same color as their faces
GR1M-R3AP3R true that. I have to remind my zombies to move their mouths. A lot of the can’t do proper zombies growls, so they have to be added in post. And yes we’ve had to make sure we don’t miss their necks in makeup.
CURTIS JONES wow! Thx Curtis. I think we’re getting better with each episode. 🧟♂️ thx so much for taking the time to comment. Did you get to watch all the way through episode 6?
CURTIS JONES awesome. Thank you for your patience. This is a hobby/passion of mine, but since it’s not my full time job; it takes a while for me to produce the episodes. I look forward to hearing what you think about the future episodes. 👍
These guys violated some of the fundamental rules of the zombie apocalypse or long term civil unrest. Rule # 1 You are ALWAYS armed with a melee weapon, (sword, axe, machete, spear, baseball bat, mace, war hammer, bow & arrow.....etc.) Rule # 2 No one goes anywhere alone. You are ALWAYS within eyesight and or earshot of your partner when outside your base camp; even when asleep or going to take a whizz or shower. Someone in your group should know where you are or supposed to be at ALL times. Rule # 3 Always armored. I don't care if you have to manufacture it yourself (even if it's nothing more than a magazine and duct tape like what Brad Pitt's character did in War World Z) When going outside the wire or standing watch one should be fully armored to the best of their ability. When going inside ANY structure you always establish a perimeter and or over-watch team. Failing to do so is the easiest way to get doggie styled.
Commander Iceman lol. Fully agree with you my friend. As some of these things our crew are learning over time. Mistakes happen, even to those who think they’re the most prepared. Thanks for the comment tho. I can use some of these tactics in the future to show they’re learning.
Makeup continues to improve. Good color correction and balance. None of the indoor audio echoes that were slightly noticeable in the first film. Script wasn't overly aggressive (smart!). Twin suicide bed scene was great. Food hunting scene was intense and suspenseful. Nice work again everyone! Small suggestion: get a hardcore prepper as an adviser. No way would I leave that house without more ammo (although the scene was time sensitive, so perhaps that's the explanation). Possible continuity issue - the gun retrieved from the suicide couple in bed was a revolver. But when one actor handed what I assumed to be the recovered gun to another actor, it was a semi-automatic. Again, a shooter or prepper will be your best friend on topics like that. It's also possible that there was no continuity issue there and I just misunderstood the scene. Either way, good work yet again. I'm a series fan. :-)
Always glad to get another fan! Maybe you'll get a chance to subscribe and see our future stuff. I'll make sure to tell the others you enjoyed; they'll appreciate it a lot! As to your thoughts... I think the survivors were hoping to search more, but the unexpected zombie in the basement startled Jeff & Mike so much, they were willing to abandon the house. So you're def on the right track. It may have been the dialogue I chose for Brett when he hands the pistol over to Mike. He was handing over his original pistol (which wasn't explained, though i was trying to speed up the scene and kept their interaction brief.. the greedy bstrd Brett (lol) wanted that found revolver for himself. I should have prolly used different dialogue to solidify the scene. We'll call it partial continuity error. : ) A doomsday prepper would be a cool idea to source. may have to look into that. We have some neat ideas for some future scenes. I need to stop being lazy and get the material written so we can get the pre-production going. Thanks for the chat. I'm a zombie nut too.. Could you tell. ha!
sopwithtv it was hard to hear, but when he handed the gun over he said “I found a revolver in there, so here you can have my old piece.” :) hope that helps!
Мария Кубрак Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to comment! Did you check out Episodes 3, 4, 5, & 6?? There are links on my website www.deadnightmare.com
Thanks so much! All the filming is actually done for episode 6.. Just working on getting it edited. So much work, but looking forward to getting it out to you guys!! thanks again for the compliment. Make sure to share with any of your friends that are zombie lovers. : )
AND most of them quite chubby still. BUT the sound is good and I am going to watch it to the end as at least what I have seen so far is well lit thanks !!
christina fouche Ha. I’ll tell my actors you said so. 😉 yea these guys/gals aren’t that dedicated to lose weight for the role as this is just fun side project... glad you decided to stick with it and watch. I’m working on Episode 7 now.
Ok - point is taken - thank you 4 this small but very easy understandable lesson for simple second hand bike wheeler deeler owner- but i did not catch your final outburst drift - why is it DAMN KIDS - Don t you like them or they take to much of your work time or is it something else?Здесь нам вас там за океаном совсем нелегко понять что вы имеете в виду ха-ха-ха(:-)
No I just meant it in a joking manner. As in it's hard to understand the youth of today. It's a joke because every generation feels this way about the teenagers and the new lingo they create.
ok - got it sir - you must be very educated - because all your explanations allways complete and easy to read on the level of total inner perception Было приятно с вами поговорить.Всего вам доброго))
Very nice job on this mate! But I only have one thing to say that you could fix. In episode one, two seasons in a year pass, but the grass is freshly mowed still, and he still has the same pistol with only 6 bullets? Thankful, this was truly a great creation!
Thanks a lot! Yea... I'm a big one on keeping the continuity consistent.. Unfortunately w/ the crazy schedules of all the peeps, we have a hard time keeping the seasons completely consistent.. But a valid point all the same. Glad you stopped by to enjoy our creation. Hopefully some more coming in the near future.
alyssarose backup vlogs thx Alyssa! Yea I worked on a new one b/c several thought the original was too much like The Walking Dead. I suppose they were right. Glad u like the new one! 👍 are u caught up through episode 6?
Wow! Thanks so much for the support! I try hard to make it look good for you all! : ) We have 6 episodes out there right now if you feel like checking them out. you can find links on my website www.deadnightmare.com If you liked Episode 2, you'll definitely want to check out 5 & 6 too. Watch them in order if you can, as it gives context to the story. thanks so much for stopping by & the awesome comment. Let me know later on if you check out the others. Likes & subscribes are fun too! c ya!
lol. Nice. I hate to use the typical movie cliches, but you almost have to these days so not to take oneself too seriously. Thanks for stopping by to watch. Hoping to have some new material going pretty soon.
Jari Besonen Thanks Jari for the feedback. Check out my directors cut that has episodes 1-4 it is about an hour long. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KXVyCAAaoCU.html also episodes 5 & 6 are longer too, 23 min and like 50...
Sondra Scheiblich Ha! Good point and noted. By episode 2, about 4 months have probably passed; however I couldn’t coordinate to have my neighbors not cut their lawns. Small production and all. Continuity and making surroundings look crappy is a biatch... as they say, the struggle is real. 😉
Working my way through the series when I really should hit the sack. Is the grid down, did a EMP knock out the electronics cause I'm seeing some SUV's which the group could hotwire and drive to the nearest Walmart, food and supply problem would be solved in one swoop! Just a thought.....
Always important to stay up to date. Ha. But yea ur point is very valid. My only excuse is my production is EXTREMELY low budget. Almost non existent I point of fact. Hard to get good places to film if I can’t pay them off for their time and location.. so we work with what we got. My initial story and thoughts were that the roads were mostly blocked due to people having to abandon their vehicles due to crazy traffic and military blockades (because of the outbreak). Thus our survivors mainly stick to being on foot for now. But if I’m able to get some things going, that may change in the future. I’m so glad u decided to check out the other episodes.
@@ZMAMShow The good news is given the lack of a meaningful budget, you've still managed to produce decent Zom movies! Also you might want to have the goal being finding a secure location to set up home base instead of wandering from place to place. Additionally, I notice the focus was totally on food and water, they walked pass the bathroom and didn't check the drawers in the bedroom. They have to think long term needs, antibiotics, pharmaceuticals wound wraps, checking for first aid kits, food and water won't do any good if you get an injury or infection! These small changes can give the storyline a broader sense of purpose, it's what I would be looking for in an Apocalyse! Hope you don't mind the critique....
That’s great feedback actually. Thanks for taking the time and I agree. There are other things they should focus on. Since Jeff was wounded; perhaps they need more medication for him. And I like the finding a base of operation. I’ll def give it some thought and if I can secure some new filming locations. Oh and thanks for the compliment on my movies! 👍😁 It really is crazy that these shorts turned out fairy decent given the limited resources. I think it would blow people’s minds if they saw how much work goes into even a 20 minute short. Especially with the zombie makeup, special effects, props, etc. I’m tiring myself out just thinking about it. Ha!
Yep... it's little things like that we'll need to pay closer attention to in the future. I think our episodes 5 & 6 are really showing our advancements in filming (and everything else in between). thanks for stopping by to watch
Ericka Morgan thanks Ericka! I’ll take that as a compliment. Don’t forget that we just released our Episode 6 trailer. So make sure to subscribe and come back and visit us in a week or so for the newly released episode 6!
Facts for you NOT LIEING 1. Zombies only attack if they see you or hear you 2. If a zombie sees you or hears you the zombie will mone ( like in pain) to tell other zombies here's food 3. Zombie have been seen to smile and open doors Everything I have said here is 100% true!!
Thank 4 D movie..May I suggest a storyboard. Then let some good critic tell you what they like and don't like in your film. The story did not have a direction where were they living where are they going. You leave a good house to stand on the road????
+ChrisT4 Edwoods Hi Chris. Storyboards are a great idea. Unfortunately I don't have any artistic friends that could help me with this. The four friends are on the run and have no interest in living in a permanent location due to threats being around every corner. Kind of why they were running low on food in the first place. They have to keep moving and finding more supplies as many places have been ransacked. As for where they're going, Adam & Jeff both mention in the 4th episode that they're heading for the countryside (getting out of the suburbs). I see that I can't presume that the views will come to these assumptions, so I'll work on future dialogue having perhaps more specific words as to what their objectives are. Thanks for stopping by.
Your story needs characters development. They need a base, a vehicle and a real plan..It's the Apocalypse..People are into Strong ,brave and intelligent .characters.Not stupid one who make plenty noise and don't look through the peephole when they leave a house.Show them stocking a base, fighting zombies, raiders, meeting someone who says there is a safe zone in a diffrent area Accessing better weapons and PLEASE put some safety gear on them, jackets gloves hats or helmet.Shoot a scene then watch it and let some one else see it and criticize it.Good LUCK!!
ChrisT4 Edwoods Those are all great ideas. However, I really can't stress the words enough ---> Low budget film making. If I ever have access to more funds, I'll definitely try pursuing those ideas. Until then, peeps will have to make due w/ my simple story..
ChrisT4 Edwoods Can't say I fully agree. It's a slow start yes, but to say that it has failed...? Think that's being pretty harsh. They just got on the water and there's much more to see. True I am a sucker for most things zombie, but I'm not ready to throw in the towel on Fear the Walking Dead.
gul alatas Fair enough & point taken. I think what I’m going for is that zombies make a terrible mess of things. With that said, it’s not too far fetched to think that the zombie pulled the intestines up and outward. Either way. Semantics. That’s for stopping by.
I get what your saying. But there’s a few things I’ll say to that. 1) mikes character is cocky and confident. He doesn’t always thing things through. 2) we make mistakes. We all like to think we know exactly what to do in any situation, but truth be told its B.S. people mess up and sometimes they pay the ultimate sacrifice. Thx for stopping by to watch.
The story and acting were good. The makeup on the zombies was awful. It looked like just their faces were painted. The ears and necks had nothing on them.
I was confused at first... your first comment said makeup was good, then this one that it was bad. We continue to work on the details and making sure the necklines are covered. Episodes 5 & 6 I think really show how we've come a long way. Thanks for the comment though and hope you come back to visit our future episodes/works.
This is fake(duhhh) I'm just telling the people who thinks this is real its not because first of all zombies don't breathe and when she was KILLED at the beginning she breathed while she was dead😒
