The crowd loves them, and why shouldn't they, they are FANTASTIC! I am very happy to see the large crowds and the wonderful following they have established!❤🎉
This song was obviously written & sung 4 enjoyment, for others, either that or the writer, had a very deranged, way of thinking. Don't understand, why all the hype, it's just a song, that's meant to be enjoyed, why not, just leave it at that !!
You are the best busker I have ever seen in my life Allie Sherlock! Whenever I’m feeling down, I watch one of you videos and it cheers me up! Keep up the good work!🎉😊
I was watching the crowd and some people weren't singing along and I wondered if I would have felt OK about something that is so Irish. I'm English, and the troubles are for me still very real. I have had mates in the 6 counties. I've known active provo's and obviously being English I grew up with the Guildford 4, Birmingham 6, the deaths in the H blocks, but I never lived in Northern Ireland. And I am now wondering, am I zombie? Or is it that so much of this same pattern of hatred I am seeing hitting my community. I am seeing lots of my community, just as I have, being actively targeted by the UK establishment, their lives destroyed, where the only solace is desth I feel the rage Dolores felt, just in my case it's a new old battlefield. So should I sing or stay Quiet?
To be honest, your comment touched me deeply. Anyone who associates this song with fun, joy, pleasure, good humour, exuberance has not understood the meaning of the song at all. Zombie is a protest song against the Northern Ireland conflict. Dolores O'Riordan wrote the lyrics of the song during the band's 1993 tour of England in memory of two children (three-year-old Jonathan Ball and twelve-year-old Tim Parry) who were fatally injured. The song was inspired by a newspaper article describing the pain, grief and senselessness of the conflict. Against this historical backdrop - especially as the lyrics are quite explicit - it is hard to bear that there is such exuberant joy and gaiety in this song, of all songs, which is characterised by pain and deep sorrow. The exuberant mood of the performers and the audience was not appropriate for this song. Dolores had said in an interview that she couldn't bear it if the song ‘Zombie’ was turned into a laugh track.
Fab guitar playing and great vocals Allie and Zoe! - would just like to hear the zombieh eh eh bit being bit more raucous like Dolores does - you’ve defo got it in you Allie!
Dolores O'Riodan wrote the song. The song is centered around the difficulties in Northern Ireland and it ends with a 1993 bombing that killed two children in Warrington. The song includes lyrics expressing the heartache and despair that was tolling in Northern Ireland during that time yet also condemning those who do not acknowledge their brethren's grief, instead calling for peace to reign. Although it's a political song that also made its way into the charts, to many people this is just 90s music and The Cranberries vibe. Like the infectious melody and upbeat feel of this song may lead some people to overlook or misinterpret its political import. But truly understanding the meaning behind a song like "Zombie" requires more than just listening for light-hearted amusement. Their reasoning: the song was written as a protest against violence in Northern Ireland and shouldn't be taken lightly by any association with pleasure or laughter. Finally, when you watch this video we must think of the grief these victims leave behind and how especially for mothers who lost their children.
This song was written by an Irish group that talks about bombing in England and the death of young child during a bombing by the Irish Republican Army. The Cranberries song of senseless violence against children I truly hope it’s taken very seriously.
Dolores O'Riordan wrote the lyrics to the song during the band's 1993 tour of England in memory of two children (three-year-old Jonathan Ball and twelve-year-old Tim Parry) who were fatally injured. I suspect that most people unfortunately didn't understand the message of the song at all, even though it is part of Irish history.
No bombing in the UK, not England. The is a southern Irish group singing about the murdering of people, to quote Bono "pulling people from their beds and gunning them down in front of their wife abd their kids" it's about punishment beetings, "about the Hatred of H blocks and a British Government that couldn't care less" "the bombing of a rememberence day parade of old age pensioners there medals out and polished up for the day to leave them dying or crippled life because of a revolution that the majority of the people in my country don't want" Sunday Bloody Sunday - Rattle & Hum the movie

@@lutzborde9741 thanks for the valuable info I was referring to the performance not the meaning of the lyrics. I am well aware of that maybe you should remind the crowd singing along with Allie because they seem to be enjoying themselves
