He is a great producer! His mixes are so solid. It's kind of disappointing that he has those unoriginal tracks but he also has plenty that are awesome. The other half of this EP is really great.

even though i don't like electronic music that much i totally agree with you, it's like saying the good old hip hop 80's classic beats are rip-offs..or the one DJ Premier does. That's just dumb, they take some notes from great 50's - 60's - 70's songs no-one knows anymore and re-invent it. This guys takes famous videogame songs so there's less of a musical research but he still makes it shine in a new way

I feel like it comes down to this, If you listen to multiple artists in the Dubstep genre, you will recognize certain key beat tempo's, rhythm's and signatures, so this EP is different from the past Zomboy we are familiar with, Then if your a hipster and bangarang is your ringtone, go ape shit.

Chef's will use other recipes and make it with their own twist to it which sometimes tastes better then the original receipe. Not all the time though. Asian's will look at products already made and either make them better or worse. A lot of people get rich off of making an original product better and more effiecient. Same goes with human traits. We all get traits from each other and make them our own. Isn't it creative to use other ideas to make your own idea with other ideas?

His songs are basically hardcore remixes. Nuclear has the same style that Skrillex used in Kyoto. Deadweight (if you listen to it carefully) has the same tune as Knife Party's Centipede.

so for example someone drew the Mona Lisa exactly the same except drew a hat or something on her instead, it would be even better than the original?

Because then you don't have you're own music style, it's basically plagiarism except you can't copyright a sound

music is about what the sounds and changes in sounds mean to each person that listens, it requires the critics attention from the beginning of a track. with this video, there is no journey. only what these bass sounds remind us of (obviously skrillex, knife party, alvin risk, Kill the Noise). so, give it a shot once you get to listen to it the whole way thru. but yea, cmon zomboy....again? make ur own damn sounds

Sometimes being unoriginal isn't a bad thing. If a producer is a fan of Skrillex and all these other successful artists then why wouldn't he make what he enjoys? The fans obviously love the music. It's like Pepsi making their soda taste like piss instead of like Coca Cola just because "it's too similar"

The melodies in some of the songs are similar to some other tracks, like the Deadweight track (similar melody to Centipede) but It's very clear that Zomboy has his own sound design.

that's the only thing I don't like about this EP, everything else is pretty damn solid, specially the angry birds track

Zomboy isn't sampling much to be honest. If any of you had real ears for synthesis and production, you can tell he that he has his own sound. But that doesnt mean you cant hear a lot of inspiration from other artists. THAT ASIDE: in my opinion, this EP sucks compared to the old Zomboy. Too much scattered sounds and melodies that don't really come together. I was hoping for more considering i was a huge fan. But that's just me... :)

you kidding me? Kill the Noise was fucking Ewun man. he was around in the 90's, before Noisia even! Skrillex was creating electronic music in 2005, starting making music under the name 'skrillex' in 2008. and knife party are two guys from pendulum. who started making drum and bass in the earlier naughties... c'mon bro atleast try to look into history before you critisize 3 of the biggest names in EDM

Skrillex=knife party=zomboy=killthenoise= all this shit sounds exactly the same to me synths can be cool sometimes but melodies are always almost identical from these artists.

well, actually most modern day synthesizers are more and more complex. you can practically create any sound in the world with the right skill and knowledge.

Exactly, it's like distortion on a guitar. Some bands use the same distortion sound just played differently. It's not a big deal if it sounds good imo..
