Hey Ash, I sent you an email Sunday night to see if you wanted some Rogue Trader/2nd Ed 40k/5th ed WHFB stuff I found cleaning out my parents' attic. Haven't heard anything back. Can you check your spam folder and let me know if you want any of it for your retro series? Otherwise it's going for trade-in/the trash. (Mostly starter box monoposes, you'd be the only one with a use for it I think.)
Wow there is seriously not enough zona Alfa content on RU-vid! Underrated game, has issues you guys have pointed out, but tabletop gamers should not ever complain about that. Don't play the rules you don't like! Adjust to suit your gaming group.
Nice! Lovely looking table - the aquarium plants are great, I use them in all my sci-fi games now. Zona Alpha is a fun game, really glad to see Kontraband getting an outing seeing as I ordered a copy after watching your review!
Spent all night building some diy terrain since my terrain order seems to have gotten lost in the post. All the variety in games has helped keep me going
That was awesome. I've played a few matches of the original Zona Alfa against my brother and we really enjoyed it. Does Kontraband get rid of player vs player entirely, or is it possible to play with the updates rules while still competing over objectives? Also I love you wandering anomaly houserule, I'm definitely stealing that.
Given the importance of food and water, and the difficulty of rolling them on the table, it might be worth making the first two results a choice between the two. That would give you a little wiggle room while still not making it a super easy by just picking them as your first loot every time. Regardless, it was a good run and I'm looking forward to the next one!
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames Awesome, thank you! Just picked up a bunch of Anvil Industry stuff for this game but haven't checked out World's End. I'll take a look! Thanks again for the content!
Love the terrain! If Kontraband is played with more people, does each person get a 4-model team, or is control of the four-model team split among all players?
It's designed to be played cooperatively with a 4-person team, so if four people played they'd have a mini each. I'm sure there are rules for having more minis and playing on a bigger table though (with more points of interest / anomalies), so I'm sure you could play with a couple of teams
Im going to offend someone....I honestly was Meh! about Roadside Picnic the book. Its a great concept, but the writing seemed a bit off. This game does look like fun, and since I dont have much chance to get out and play others, it seems fun as a solo game.
Check out the Southern Reach trilogy (the movie Annihilation is based on it) for a more modern Stalker fiction take. Really good books and a great film!
I have to agree with Ash. The Southern Reach Trilogy oozes Roadside Picnic vibes with a more modern take. The movie is also really good and worth a watch if you love weird fiction that doesn't spell everything out for you and lets you come up with your own interpretation of WHY it was all happening and WHAT it all means.
I wish I could watch your vids, but your proclivity for saying "like" 3-4 times a sentence, padded with "literally," makes me crazy. Please consider being more concise.
@@by.this.axe. I mean i can take hammer and sickle, join them on a red background and say it's just logo for a farming company. But symols have connotations and very specific meaning. You won't use "hindu sun symbol" on a sunscreen becouse, well, that symbol was hijacked and it won't have great associations. Of course it's fictional universe (or Canada is weired that I thought) but it still doesn't seem right to paint models like this in times like this
@@by.this.axe. and currently it's a symbol used by people who murdered family of my friends, it's much more than a letter currently, especially in the context of a symbol on a soldier's vest
