as the daughter of a zookeeper (for around 25 years now its been) i can tell you that this is EXACTLY what happens at the zoo lmao. grenades everywhere for the animals to pick up, elephants in the dolphin tank while the dolphins just keep doing the same sync'd flips forever. its all 100% real! for real though the best animals to watch at the zoo are the monkies. its basically people watching but the people are hairy and actually are smarter rather than, ya know normal boring people are lol. its also fun watching the elephants pick grass. you'd think it'd be too short but nope, those trunks really are sensitive and delicate and they just rip out the grass and eat it. its fun watching em eat too because they're just so huge they destroy anything. its like hippos too, im sure you've seen vids of hippos eating melons. same thing pretty much. the elephants and tigers loved the pumpkins at halloween time. the elephants crush em with ease under their feet while the tigers usually bite on em or play with em in the water. oddly enough my fav part was making the animal diets. nothing like slappin some raw meat carcasses into a bowl with other meat n such lol oh and can't forget the gorilla biscuits, those are a real thing and they look like scooby snacks. protip: if you ever ride an elephant, wear pants, its a must im telling you. unless you're on like those slightly lifted seats, which to me is abuse for the elephant, in which case you're fine but if you're just on the elephant bare back omfg, their hairs are so thick and they're long enough to where they are so god damn annoying on your skin, its aweful lol. we went to visit for thanksgiving one year to ride the elephants behind the scenes style because we could and yeah, pants are a must. i also oddly like the smell of zoos now, idk it just smells like nature and i like nature lol ive also been about a foot or so away from a lion. went in the back where they go in for the night and it was kinda scary lol. like you look at em and its just these huge paws and if he wanted to he could just pounce at the bars and swat at us. there was a shotgun in there though so it was ok. might have been just a tranq gun but i think it was a shotgun. i got to play with a baby red panda before too. fuggers are vicious but soft AF. fun fact: the reason no aquariums have great whites is due to the fact they're too big AND they have to always be swimming or they die. scientists have tried it, i think 4 times maybe? and the tanks are always just too small and the shark would always bump into the walls and get hurt or hurt the other fish. there are smaller types of sharks in aquariums though. weird how that works eh? lol.
