Zoom F2 software explained

Sorry to be awhile replying. I couldn't find a way, so I emailed Zoom support & got their answer today - no. But they apologized for any convenience. :-)

It hasn't been that inconvenient for me, since I have to connect the USB cable to the F2 to format the disk & to set the time to computer time anyway.

@@honoluluhappenings5561 Do you often format the disk? And the clock often drifts away? See, I don't believe so. And now your comment makes me wonder why you would even say something like that. Are you sponsored and therefore corrupt? I wouldn't think so based on how truthful your video was!

@@themartinandersson Hon, I format the disk after every time I use it, and while I'm at it, I set the clock. Am I 'corrupt'? Why would you even say something like that?

Formatting the device is supported via Bluetooth, so not a reason, per se, to use a USB cable, and I believe this may be the case with setting the clock as well? Either way, being "corrupt" (i.e. sponsored) was a question really, and something that could explain the absence of rationality in your answer. But like I originally wrote, the apparent truthfulness of your video makes that hard to believe. Which only, in my opinion, adds to the confusion.

This is an important question, and I'm sorry I didn't cover it. No. As far as I can tell, you lose all functions on the recorder when it's connected to the app. (Well, you can turn it off.) I'll do another video and cover this. Thanks for asking. I've sent an email to Zoom to confirm this, by the way. I'll let you know what they say.

@@honoluluhappenings5561 Ok thanks for replying, there are other RU-vid reviewers which I asked the same question and they so far all say that the buttons can still be used. I suspect though that they're not actually testing it before answering my question but just making the assumption that those buttons still work.

@@PaulVoorberg I got the answer today from Zoom support: 'That is normal behavior. Once connected via Bluetooth, you have to use the app to control the unit.' We cannot use the buttons on the recorder once we're connected to a smartphone .

Output volume is for headphones, and I haven't used headphones on my F2 yet.

I have 1.10 on my F2, and I've had no glitches with it.

The phone's time is not at all an accurate master for timecode

I don't have a way to generate timecode, so I can't answer the question.

No. The phone connects to only one recorder at a time.

I have only one F2, so I can't provide an accurate answer. I suggest emailing Zoom support with that question.
