just want everyone to know that if the video has been posted, the person responsible more than likely received everyones consent to do so. It is an ethical obligation as a counselor to receive consent on everything. Rest assured!
This is probably a mock session for a class, to be honest. We have to do them, everyone is usually aware that they are posted. I could be wrong but if I were to guess this is the case. I don't think any professional in an actual setting would post their sessions on youtube. It is more than likely posted for learning purposes.
Therapists will release sessions with the permission of the group involved. It seemed real enough to me (because bits were awkward in a very real way) but it also didn’t seem very intimate as a first session so it might be a good one to share.
i have the same concern as one of the comments here. are these people aware that they're on youtube? again, this isn't confidential. if it's for educational purposes, you need to write that in the description.
"have you always had anxiety?"--Not a great way for a therapist to ask this huge, huge questions. "How long have you been experiencing this type of anxiety?" is a better way to frame it. It leaves no gray area to escape the feelings of internalizing, and separating it out from the core of who you are. Makes it feel very final or catastrophizing
