I would suggest trying out Peardeck or Nearpod, which are both Google Slides add-ons which allow you to add questions, drawings, simulation manipulatives, etc into your Slides presentation.
This video was very informative and student centered. The presenter tone was inviting. I leearnt so much and will explore those creative techniques to enhance my lesson.

Russell, Can you only use the Google Form in the Chat room feature in a Webinar? I have tried it in a meeting, and the Google Form nor the Padlet link will not turn into a hyperlink.
Hi Debbie. Zoom did disable the share file option for about two weeks, but it has been put back, now that they have improved their security features. Hyperlinks are notorious for breaching security. You should be able to share a link now. If not, ask participants to copy and paste the link you want into a browser. For example, a link to a Padlet or Google Form. A Zoom webinar (Pro+Business accounts) does give more options but also more control for the host.
Russell - This is great!, but most educational institutions in the US have prohibited teachers fm using Zoom bc of security issues. Please advise on how to to all these things on WebEx for business. Thanks
Denise, all the ideas I have suggested would apply to WebEx but I am not sure about the breakout rooms as not sure they exist in Webex...I don't know the tool so well. I tend to use ClickMeeting
I don’t know if anyone else mentioned this but it’ll avoid frustration if it’s realized that the students will not see the results of the form when they go to the breakout rooms. This happened to me. They will only see the survey or whatever they filled out. It seems that another link has to be copied and then sent to the students via chat. Then, when they click on that second link, voila, they’ll open the results and can discuss it.

Hi Anna. Until a week or so ago and at the time of recording this video, you were not able to share a hyperlink in the chat, nor send files. But these options have now returned. Try it again.

I do run private lessons and you can contact me on www.teachertrainingvideos.com/ However the answer is for you have a normal paid account and then buy 10 licenses and that way in theory you could have 10 concurrent sessions. You might not need that many in reality.

In theory, you can open up Padlet and Google Forms, too, in a browser on a mobile device or by using the Padlet app. Many learners access the tool via mobiles, anyway, whether in class or outside of class. For Online teaching and making things student-centred, I think this is one great tool that can be used. Russell.

Thank you for your sharing. I use a free zoom account. When I paste a link to zoom chat, it's a text and students can copy it only. I notice that your link is a link and sts can click directly. Is it a limit of a zoom account? For padlet, I use it for a summary of sts' homework. For forms, I've tried google and microsoft forms but no one allows to add an audio file for English listening practice. Can you share any ideas about that? Once Again, thank you very much. Hi Phương Tô Thị Mỹ. Although I don't actually show me putting the link to the Padlet or Google Form in the Zoom chat window, you can do this. It's not a hyperlink. However, you can now transfer a file (such as a document with hyperlinks) again - this was disabled for a couple of weeks while Zoom sorted out their security. But the option for others to send files needs to be disabled in settings.

If you have an up-to-date version of Zoom, the option to share or transfer a file using the chat window should be there. I would share the link there. It might be a hyperlink, too, as this feature was disabled for a while and restored about a month ago.
Thanks for all the great tips. I definitely learned something new. I emailed Zoom a while back to ask about breakout rooms but never received a reply. Do you know how to share a powerpoint or a document during breakout rooms? I usually show a powerpoint and ask my students to go into breakout rooms to discuss what was on the slide. The problem I learned is that once my students are in the breakout rooms, they could no longer see the slide where I gave them instruction what to discuss. This makes the breakout rooms experience somewhat hit and miss. Any suggestions? Thanks again.
Rita, when students are in breakout rooms you must give them a copy of your PPT so that they can open it up when in breakout rooms and share it. One student in each group will need a copy. @@ttvRussell Thank you for your quick reply and a workable solution. Yes, I'm certain this method will work. I do see a problem with this solution. This requires one student to "take charge" and be the "temporary host". This doesn't always work smoothly depending on the students' maturity and their willingness to take on this "host" role. I am still on the hunt for a more elegant solution. Thanks just the same.
thank you, Russel! Very useful. I have one quesiton: can't we use a shared whiteboard in zoom for the activity you demonstrated? each student in a group can type three things he did on the board. I am not sure ,though, if they can take it with them to the breaout rooms
Glad it was useful, Olga. With Padlet you are sharing a separate whiteboard that doesn't need to be opened within Zoom. Just get students to join the Padlet via a link in the chat window first. Then they will have access to them, whether they are in break out rooms or not. You can of course enable students to also share their screens within the breakout rooms, too. Hope that helps.
When you screen share, you are only able to see a limited number of students. When you are not screen sharing you can use gallery view but I can't remember max number you can see. I just email my students the link to the Zoom and then they can join me. If I am working in class, I share links through the chat window. I didn't understand what types of links you were asking about? I hope that helps

I'll add one suggestion: when using Google Forms (regular or quiz version), I have learned to make the first question the student first, last name. This way, when it is time for me to use the form to assign a grade, i do not have to look up the 140+ email addresses assigned each student (Google automatically records the email for my use later).

FYI, Zoom is not working, upgraded router, kids can't hear me, I can't hear them. Peardeck was not working on child's computer even though it was tested and worked all weekend. Classes at 12:30 pm don't work because of too much traffic and kids come back after lunch. Nearpod was down today. Any other suggestions?
Maria, really sorry to hear that. I have never had that happened to me though I admit I have had some tough times. Often it is to do with the internet speed of my student's computers.
I was following this nicely till it said click next to save the padlet question at 7.07. There is no NEXT button to click, it just shows cancel & modify so I can go no further. Now what. But I enjoyed watching anyway.
Allison that is very odd. What technology are you using? Once you write the question, you click the next button and then copy the link. Are you accessing with ipad?
Hi Diana. If you are trying to share a clickable, 'hyper'link in Zoom, please upgrade to the latest version. A slightly earlier version disabled the options to share files and share hyperlinks. Version 4.6 is better and restores this function.
Hi alireza. I have never used mentimeter. I know what it is, but the essential idea of student centred lessons can be done in a number of platforms, we are not limited to Zoom.
Try version 4.6.10 (20033.0407) or higher. This was disabled for a couple of weeks while Zoom sorted out some security issues. The most recent versions have restored the hyperlink function in file transfer.
