This was great! Perfect explanation and made me realize i don't need Riverside FM or another type for recording my remote calls. Could you comment on the quality of the sound recorded from a remote call or a remote zoom call?

Bit of a weird question: but the trrs input could be used with "mobile" switch but the trrs input could be a headset with inbuilt microphone?

By the way, when I say "there are no numbers displayed on the LCD screen" what I mean is that there are no decibel numbers shown, such as -6, -12, -18, etc. On other Zoom recorders such as the Zoom H6 or H5, etc, there are typically decibel numbers shown on the LCD screen for more exact readings...except on the PodTrak P4. The only thing you will see is a bunch of small "notches" that represent approximate levels on the decibel scale. At the very top of the LCD screen notch is the equivalent of "0" (Zero) on the decibel scale which means you are clipping the audio if the recorded audio reaches that high. The next notch down is roughly -6 dB, and below that -12 dB, and further down -18 dB, etc.

I have 3.5 to xlr adapters and I can't get any of my 3.5mm mics (rode or any other brand) to work on any channel OR EVEN the auxillary channel of my zoom podtrak p4, yet hooking in my phone or any other audio device in any channel works...

why did you connect an external power bank if the P4 can be powered directly from the laptop?

I want to record a podcast with the podtrak p4, but what I don't understand is ¿why is the cell phone also necessary? I think that having only the adapter cable that goes from the podtrak p4 to the laptop would be fine to record via zoom.

I have a remote caller connected via a phone call. I am using an iphone 12 connected to the P4 via a dongle and 3.5 to 3.5. Should the remote party be able to hear all local guests through their individual microphones or only through the phone we are using to make the connection. As of now the remote party can only hear through the phone. When the phone is muted they are unable to hear us through the mics, when the local phone is unmuted they can hear us through the phone? Have a question I can't find an answer to anywhere! Hoping you can help because you're knowledgeable and thorough. I have a zoom podtrak P4, and I want to record a remote guest. In your demo, you use zoom video software to do the remote recording. Is there some way to use the Podtrak P4 and record the remote person directly in audacity (I know it can be done with local recordings on same PC)? Or do you have to go through something like zoom? Alternatively, looks like you can use a recording service like Welder or Squadcast, but then seems the Podtrak P4 is unnecessary. If I want to use zoom recording, then this podtrak P4 makes sense (although I understand zoom has worse audio quality). If I have to use a recording service, then I don't think I even needed this Podtrak P4, right? I would just record the remote person using the service and then edit in audacity. I bought the podtrak P4 thinking I needed it to record the remote person, but I now think you can't just record them to audacity directly. Am I missing something? I guess I can keep the podtrak P4 to use in case I have a person live with me, and then we could record it directly into audacity, but I'm not sure that works for a remote guest. Appreciate your insights!
