I’m gonna try and take a video of myself walking into my room like a burglar and have it playing in the background so it looks like I’m getting robbed during my meetings lol
Chris Menard, Thank you for your videos. They are so helpful. I now have beautiful virtual video backgrounds thanks to you and your website. I am using a Mac and so I had to "interpret" some of the directions, but eventually got things working well. Thanks again.
I’ve recently updated my Zoom and do have a green screen but for some reason I do not have the add video option so not able to use motion backgrounds, most annoying
@@avverr594 Well it transpires that you need a laptop or pc or Mac with certain specifications so I’ve learned you need either an Intel 5 or higher, AMD Ryzen 5 or higher and not sure on the Mac but all these vids I’ve seen on this issue the RU-vidr doesn’t mention the fact “ That in order to get the motion backgrounds to work, you need certain specific requirements “ it’s seems it is assumed that most of us have these types of hardware and processors and we don’t
What are your computer hardware specs? Here are the specs from Zoom's support page. I want to point out that a lot of people have the correct processor (i5 or i7), but they don't have the correct generation of the processor to do virtual backgrounds. support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/210707503-Virtual-Background
@@ChrisMenardTraining hi Sir.. i got the same problem here, my laptop is : i75600U windows10 64 bit.. the zoom only got image option to the virtual background. I just update the version on 3/4/2020. Tq sir.
My problem is that i dont have the video option. when I click the plus button it doesn't show the add video and I don't have any videos in my virtual backgrounds. PLEASE HELP ME
So I noticed that whenever you use the background screen you always get like a blurry shadow on the head or hands. Also if you move to much you disapear. Can that be fixed or not?
Hey Chris, do you know if Zoom removed the capability to make virtual backgrounds videos? My zoom is updated and the only option I have is to make my background an image.
It is most likely a computer specs issues. Here is a video I made that covers how to find out your specs and see if they meet Zoom's requirements. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L6JXdsr4nSw.html
Hello Chris! Thank you for these tutorials. I have a very different issue with Zoom. My mac has an i5 core I turned on the Virtual Background in my settings under: In a meeting advanced signed out and back in a new browser. The add video feature is not showing up in the drop-down, I am only given the option to add image have you ever heard of this problem before? Thank you in advance

Is this only a Windows feature? It only says "Add virtual background image" on my mac version of the newest Zoom. Upon installation only the three first photos were already downloaded, the videos and the rest were not, while no .mov or .mp4 are accepted.
Here is info for the mac from Zoom's support page. If you meet the requirements, I would reach out to Zoom support. Image or video without a physical green screen Zoom Desktop Client for Mac, version 4.6.4 (17383.0119) or higher macOS 10.9 or later Supported processor i5 quad-core or higher 6th generation i7 dual-core or higher, with macOS 10.14 or later Any processor with a physical core of 8 or higher
I don't even get an option to choose video background, only pictures. I checked an I have the most up to date version and the release notes mention "video as a virtual background". The files i've downloaded are mp4 files and I think they're in the approved resolution size. Not sure what's wrong.

most likely. zoom has very specific requirements for video virtual backgrounds. Do you know what processor and generation you are running? Also, I have great lighting, a solid wall, and a HD web camera.
Yes you have great videos ....but what do I need to do to get the same results like yours? Is it my i5 Processor too slow to support this ? Or because I am using a Basic or Free version? Any difference between Basic vs PRO paid version ?

Chris. Is there a way to run this video background and then toggle where they see the background only? Like for a zoom meditation class? So voice only and watching the video for relaxation?
I give up! I keep struggling! Cannot do the video background. Only images!!! My Zoom has been updated: 5.5.2 Version. Macbook Version is 10.15.3. The video itself is MP4. Zoom Customer Service is not helpful right now!
According to Zoom, it only works on certain iPad. You do not need a green screen. According to Zoom's support page: iOS * Zoom Mobile App for iOS, version 4.1.27541.0627 or higher * iPhone 8, 8+, or X * iPad Pro and the 5th and 6th generation iPad 9.7

I'll put a link to the zoom support page for the background. From what it looks like an i-5 should work unless you have an i-5 that they mentioned wouldn't work. support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/210707503-Virtual-Background?mobile_site=true

Two main questions, Chris: 1) If I want to upload my own video background, what formats are the ones that will work: MP4? Yes? No? Others? 2) I assume the video will loop? So short, like 5 seconds? Thanks in advance.
Zoom recommends using background videos (MP4 or MOV file) with a minimum resolution of 480 x 360 pixels (360p) and a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080p). If your background image includes text, uncheck the 'mirror my video' option in your video settings. I would not loop for more than 30 seconds.
