there's a point where they go from being charminf and fun to just fucking creepy and its this level of realism that makes me kinda understand why chuck e cheese freaked some people out. i'm good with the less-"advanced" audio animatronics because i both can figure out how they mechanically work using simple machines as a reference (and taking away their power to jump out and eat me in the process) and willingly suspend my disbelief to see them as real despite the jarring motion and making obvious machine sounds if you listen. fwiw, costume character pre-recorded on a tube TV screen is still viable for the atmosphere- the screen's hum holds attention while not overwhelming with realism.
I’m all for the integration of screens to further immerse the rider in the story by adding background details, but I feel like the stationary scenes that focus solely on watching a screen to tell the story take the viewer out of the moment and make you hyper-aware that it’s a simulation.
I think it's the "stationary" part that makes those sections particularly irritating for me. If you're still moving, you can still imagine that you're part of the action as the ride intends, but being made to hold still breaks that immersion. If you MUST be stationary, have some other kind of stimulation, maybe jets of air or vibration in the seats, to keep it going.
@@charondusk5608 The worst, offender, in my opinion, is the new Remy ride at EPCOT. The queue is so great and hyped me up for the ride so well with all the little items scaled way up, all for it to be a trackless ride that does nothing new with the tech and insists on stopping in front of a screen every minute. I feel like these aren't even fun for kids, and Disney knows this, because even here they have the real animatronics at the end for kids to go "Look! There's my favorite character in real life!" when they should have felt like they were with them the whole ride.
I wonder if amusement parks realize the opportunity they have now. With integrated screens and ai, they can literally make every ride different each time.
Zootopia Day in the Zootopia attraction, Zootopia: Hot Pursuit is possibly the day that the city of Zooptoia was first founded and established similar to how Empire Day in the Star Wars franchise was the day the Galactic Empire was first founded and established same for Radiator Springs 1 ½ holiday where Radiator Springs also was first founded in the Tales from Radiator Springs episode, “Radiator Springs 1 ½.”
The screens are built into the scenes so well especially around 7:20. The Animatronics so fluid with video eyes built very well. Impressive scene decoration.
I rode this ride during Christmas and I was AMAZED by how much it FEELS like you are moving. The cars actually move left and right, forwards and backwards matching with the video on the screens and it just makes it feel REAL!
Really well done. The best integration of screens and physical sets I've seen. You don't even realize it's a screen sometimes. And proof that nobody does animatronics like Disney can.
@@Mega1andy2 The haters killed the plan for WDW so, nope over in Orlando! We’re getting a stupid show that won’t be as great! It’s called Zootopia: Better Together! It’s debuting next winter.
If the train took place in the snow biome.... It would've been an interesting reference to a movie when someone is controlling it, would drift it on ice
It incorporates elements used in both RotR and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. It's very interesting how they now have this catalog of elements they can reskin and theme in different ways.
It's all still US-made, between Imagineering offices in Glendale and Orlando (animatronic fabrication specialists, show programmers who animate the animatronics, etc). Project budget matters a lot but also the generation the animatronic is created.
Although its few audioanimatronics are state-of-the-art, the ride is mainly a series of widescreens. Although its static set decorations are generally elaborate, the ride's format is too much like a stroll through Best Buy's widescreen department. Not sure if this attraction will fly at the Disney parks in Tokyo owned by the Oriental Land Co.
oh wow, this is GOOD. the screens actually feel diegetic in most scenes and the animatronics are incredible...i wish we could get something of this caliber at WDW! (or just more acknowledgement for zootopia in general)
the animatronics for the queue is so epic.... i wouldn't even mind if disney just made queues that you can walk through and experience a story like that...
Wow, amazing ride! Good length, seamless transitions from projections to live action and very busy! I would ride this over and over again. Thanks for sharing!
Such an outstanding, hitting-all-the-marks ride! 🙂 I’m very pleased and happy with the park they created! And nearly a 5-min ride too with different elements and areas and sections? Amazing!
I won't deny that it has some impressive animatronics but if you look at the ride objectively isn't it mainly screens and elaborately dressed up hallways?
I don’t get the story. Are we chasing down the prison escapees? Did we get them? Was that when something was hanging from a rope after the sky ride plunged? I have only watched the video once, but it should be more apparent what is going on.
this is probably one if the best disney rides i’ve ever seen! considering i’ve seen a lot (online not in person), this one is very impressive! the animatronics are so well built, the ride itself is just truly amazing! would love to go but i can’t go to hong kong lol it’s too far away and i hate planes
Yeah, The Rise of the Resistance felt so real, and like we were actually in the Star Wars Galaxy during the First Order-Resistance War while we could all tell that Zootopia: Hot Pursuit was fake, (But the scenes in the actual Zootopia franchise and animatronics were still cool. I hope Zootopia: Better Together! Will be added to Animal Kingdom in DisneyWorld, Orlando, this winter of 2025 in honor of Zootopia 2.
They aren't bringing this to Animal Kingdom to replace Dinoland USA and are instead bringing over Encanto which I kinda understand being popular and everything but only a little related to animals because there is a kid that understands them. What I don't get is Indiana Jones. Monkeys and Snakes...real variety there amiright? Here's hoping we get a whole area at Gate 5.
Very much so. You can even see a number of particular moments that are essentially re-skins of the same exact mechanical designs as those rides. (The slightly elevated convertible moving forward and back early on from MMRR and the escape pod drop from ROTR are easily recognizable)
cmonnnn dont say america has nothing like this, we have rise of the resistance which is the most mindblowingly elaborate and immersive ride ive ever been on and mickey minneys runaway railway isnt far behind this. this is an amazing looking dark ride though with a great mix of practical effects and projection!
We’re never getting it because of haters who said it wouldn’t fit! So, we’re getting a stupid Zootopia show in the tree of life instead! It’s replacing the bug show!
Very generous ride. It's plenty long with a lot to see, variety of gags, thrills, surprises and show pieces. Hope the usa parks get to see this, a good "whole family" ride.
Amazing looking ride. Totally understand having to mute the musical piece to avoid copyright strikes. The final two animatronics seemed below the standard of the rest of the ride.
I really hope Disney doesn't redo every single ride into the trackless cars ,,also the projection scenes sometimes feel a little lazy when they know they can make full size animatronics
I have a strong feelling that Zootopia 2 will have this exact storyline of bellweather escaping prision and Nick and judy having to track here down! Lets hope in 2025!
This ride (Zootopia: Hot Pursuit) is awesome! I can’t wait to ride on it when my family and I visit DisneyWorld in Japan in the future after we get our passports.
I also can’t wait for the Zootopia 3D Show, when it comes out at Discovery Island at Animal Kingdom at DisneyWorld in Orlando, Florida at some point in the future. I hope that it will be a jukebox musical like the Sing franchise and feature Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps singing as a duet, “Hold Me Closer” by Elton John and Britney Spears, and as a solo song for Nick, “Sunday Best” by the Surfaces and “34 Plus 35” or “Positions” by Ariana Grande for Judy Hopps, and Clawhauser and Gazelle singing together as a duet, “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift, and Flash and Priscilla singing very slowly, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by Queen and have Fru Fru and her friends sing and perform, “Barbie Girl” by Aqua or even have them all sing original songs like in classic Disney animated musical films or “Let It Goat”, “Can You Feel the Fur Tonight” and “Part of Your Wool” or “I Can’t Wait to be Alpha” or “Be Our Best Fox” or “Ara-Bunny Nights”. Or even have Gazelle, Chief Bogo, Clawhauser, Nick, Judy, Emmet Otterton, Mrs. Otterton and the Otterton kids with the butterfly wings and suspension cords from the Zootopia Plus (2022) episode, “So You Think You Can Prance?” all sing and perform, “Levitating” by Dua Lipa together. Good idea or what?
@@jaykay1899 They're planning to replace It's Tough to be a Bug with a Zootopia show. And if anything doesn't fit the vibe of Animal Kingdom, it's the Moana ride they're also planning to build. They should leave the bugs alone and build a copy of this instead of Moana.
@@davidguthrie6316 no no no! Magic Kingdom has nothing to do with animals! See, this is why Disney is failing! People like you that are haters need to back off! Animal Kingdom was a perfect fit! But, no! We have whiners like you who just hates everything!
@@ChunkychunHealyI don’t hate everything. I just think it’s a bad idea for Animal Kingdom. They are ANTHROPOMORPHIC animals, they simply do not fit in Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom is the most carefully themed park Disney’s ever built. It is about our relationship with animals, real, extinct and imaginary, as well as in a broader sense our relationship with nature. A ride like Expedition Everest is an actual masterpiece that tells a fascinating story about mythical creatures, the role of humanity in nature, the desecration of nature’s greatest wonders, etc. Zootopia is not at all about that. It is really more about humans than it is about animals at the end of the day. The whole purpose of the movie is using animals to explore real human conflicts and problems. Which is fine. But it just doesn’t fit. The South America land which is now on the horizon seems to be a much better fit. Contrary to what you believe, I don’t “hate everything.” I try to be as open minded as possible, as evidenced by Pandora, a land that should not have worked. Yet Joe Rhode was able to focus the land on the themes of Animal Kingdom, and created one of the greatest successes of Bob Iger’s reign. I just think Zootopia doesn’t work in Animal Kingdom. I don’t necessarily want it in MK either. I just think that even that would fit better.
What video were you watching? Yes there are screens, but used when needed. This is at least 80-85 % practical and physical set pieces and is no different to Spiderman Ride or Transformers rides.
This looks so cool! I know I’d love it. I wish Disney World in Florida would get some new fun things like this. I feel like they went too much on the Star Wars side of it I like variety.
Disney said it’s never happening! They cancelled it! It’s so sad because of stupid haters that said it didn’t fit the appropriate status! It was originally going to be in AK until stupid haters ruined their plans! Plus, now we’re getting a new replacement! It’s Tough To Be A Bug!
I like the usage if Transparent monitor displays. It’s more immersive than showing everything on one layer of screen. However, it need more mixtures of screens and real props and backgrounds. In that way, it can gain both the good stuff of being realistic and having free expressions in the same time. Wish someone find ways to fix the problem and upgrade it. Will like to have one in Tokyo Disney.
For Disney world , I saw while they were making new animatronics it looks exactly like the zootopia charecters in the background . I think next year they will make this is animal kingdom
Disneyland and Disney CA Adventure have expansion plans, including an area based on Zootopia. I wonder if that means this ride will be one of the ones there!
I think that Gazelle plus striped skunk pop music ballad singer, Diane Floretine voiced by Anne Hathaway were both elected to become new mayor and assistant mayor of Zootopia after Bellwether and Lionheart’s arrests in the first Zooptoia movie, and Gazelle’s concert at the end of the first Zootopia movie was not just done to celebrate Bellwether’s defeat and the unification of the predators and prey in Zootopia but also Gazelle becoming new mayor of Zootopia and this time she will run it tight, and if theory were proven to be true in Zootopia 2, it would explain why Bellwether, Doug and Jesse after escaping from prison tried to kidnap Gazelle in the Zootopia Hot Pursuit Ride in DisneyWorld, Shanghai, to murder her plus Diane so Bellwether could get her position as mayor of Zootopia back and achieve her evil plans once more or brainwash Gazelle with night howlers into paroling Bellwether from prison and reinstating her as assistant mayor of Zootopia so Bellwether could achieve her evil plans and goals again with Gazelle’s brainwashed help and support until Nick and Judy rescue Gazelle at the end and defeat Bellwether and have her and Doug and Jesse arrested and incaranated in prison once more.
The fact that you can see exactly what the car in front of you is doing takes all the excitement and mystery out of the ride. What is the point of a trackless vehicle when we watch the car in front of us?
