Check out my Carousell store for some film cameras: www.carousell....
This Zorki 4K is my 50-year-old camera. This is a rangefinder and was manufactured in USSR. The lens attached to it is a Jupiter 8 50mm f2, a Leica Thread Mount Lens. This combo is a cheap alternative/copy to the more expensive Leica rangefinder camera. The film I used is a Kodak Ektar 100, perfect for a sunny day.
Most of the photos appeared to be soft but still clear and contrasty in a non backlit situation. I developed the film at home and scanned the film negative with my Canon 6D with Volna 9 macro lens (another Soviet era lens) and converted using Negative Lab Pro in Lightroom.
Makati is one of the busiest city in the Philippines. I chose to do my photowalk here because I used to work here and I am very familiar with the place.

Awesome shots man! And remember people when you have a Russian camera always always always wind film FIRST before changing your shutter speed! You will break your camera if you don’t.
@feelmanila
@feelmanila Год назад
Thanks! Haha yes that's true! My brain is already programmed (to wind first before changing the shutter speed) whenever I use my zorki. :D

On a Zenit you can change the shutter speed whenever you want. This rule is mostly for Leica-based cameras.

My Zorki 4k is one of my favorite cameras. I mainly shoot with my M2, but my 4k feels more comfortable in the hand due to the shape. I just wish it had strap lugs.

I agree with the strap lugs. But i believe the later versions of zorki have this but not on 4k.

Where'd you get your Zorki? Looking at getting one as my first rangefinder. A cheap LOMO Smena 8m got me hooked on film photography!

Ganda ng mga shots sir. Sunny16 method po ba sir para sa exposure?
@feelmanila
@feelmanila Год назад

Totally missing out on a Tri X master piece. Color make the picture too busy.

Where did u find a shutter lever for your camera?
@feelmanila
@feelmanila Год назад
Hello! Do you mean the shutter cocking lever? It is an upgrade from zorki 4. Originaly, zorki 4 has a shutter cocking "knob" that you will twist (just like when you rewind using the rewind knob). Then next version of zorki 4 was zorki 4k which now has the cocking lever instead of cocking knob.

Just a little advice: The photographer abuse photos taken with the camera in vertical position. To take good quality photos, I recommend always taking photos horizontally. Except in cases of photos of tall buildings.
@feelmanila
@feelmanila 11 месяцев назад
Thanks! I dont mind taking vertical with this focal length 😅 i find it easier to compose sort of minimalistic style with vertical on 50mm lenses, thats why it is often called portrait lens because of its nature of taking portrait photos and of course when im usin wide angle i can easily compose in horizontal because i'll get more of the scene. It is just a matter of taste for me 😅✌️
