i watch all the pre time skip arcs in 3 months of casually watching i watched like 3/4 episodes a day sometimes 2 and once i got to the second half it was worth it the animation got better, the fights were better, the introduction of haki made the whole show better and by that point i already liked the show so much i forgot the main reason i wanted to start was because of gear 4 snake man

If you like one piece from the beginning or are interested in the story(like most one piece fans), then 1k episode turns into a blessing, and even then, it's not like anyone has to watch all 1k+ on a time limit. 1k episodes is only a problem if you are forcing yourself to watch it for hype moments or whatever. Now if you said you wont watch it cause of the style, characters, or anything like that then its valid but i dont think the length of a series should be the factor of whether you watch something or not cause you could like it.
