Zotac GeForce GTX 1070 Mini - Review 

I never comment on Videos, but I have to say, I absolute love your Videos. They are the most informative of all of RU-vid. Don't get me wrong, I too like LinusTechTips and JayzTwoCents and so on very much, but if you need the best and most information available on a certain piece of tech, this channel is where you go to. A teenie 1070! I wish I could get a 1080 in this size...

Still wish I could have afforded a 1070 instead of the 1060 6GB. Maybe someday soon although I have been pretty impressed with the MSI Gaming X 1060 6GB.

It sucks that the prices for most PC components cost almost the same everywhere but graphic cards cost like $100-200 more outside US.

Great review! I've always been aware of the drastic price increase for 1 or 2 frames when it comes to the top of the top end of cards, but things like adding an extra fan or power connector just to look more expensive was never something I'd considered. Just ordered a Zotac 1070 mini and can't wait!

Came across your reviews by accident but glad I did. My son is pestering me for a GTX 1070 and this would be perfect as we didn't think a full sized would fit perfectly, Is it overclocked? as MSI do one that is so how do these rate in your opinion? Cant wait for some gaming footage on this card and if all goes well I get my sons old GTX 960 so win win...

Great video, I have just bought one of these and am very pleased with it. You mentioned that it is overkill for 1080p at 60 Hz, however my previous card, a GTX 1060 3 gb, struggled with Witcher 3 and GTA V at ultra settings. Now that I have the 1070, I have cranked everything up to ultra and get a constant 60 fps (at 1080p 60 Hz).

So, if the price is the same ... should I get the 1070 mini or the 1660 ti? Where I live, the Zotak model for both is identical in price (290 euros). I lean towards the 1070 because of the 8GB VRAM.

I was deciding between this Zotac mini and the Gigabyte mini. I decided to go for the Gigabyte 1070 Mini after reading an in-depth review of it somewhere that said the temps on the card are actually pretty good. I have it in my Corsair 380T Case and it never goes over 60 degrees according to MSI Afterburner. It's a wonderful card.

I just bought this card new. I installed it correctly and one of the fans is spinning at 100% and is very loud and I can't control it. I can't turn it off! It is supposed to be on idle when I'm just using the internet. Does this mean the fan sensor is broken?

Just remember, next generation, GTX 1170 will be the NEW perfect 1440p card. GTX 1070=980Ti which was supposed to be a 4K card.

Nice video, but it felt like a generalised review of 1070 rather than the actual 1070 mini at hand. i would have liked to know the temperatures and fps difference between this and that Asus card.

Just watched this video as i saw one of these cards in the uk for £270 (approx £70 or more cheaper than any other 1070). I was wondering if it was a realy poor version of the card but thanks to your video i am confident in buying one. Thank you for the very informative video, it helped a lot.

U can overclock 3 fan cards a lot more. The base mhz is also a lot higher so its like precloked a little bit already. A lttle bit is a 100 mhz

This is actually a exact same model as the Zotac GTX 1060 AMP! Edition but this isn't AMP! Edition.

6.5 Teraflops = GTX 1070 or Titan X (Maxwell). Skip the GTX 1080 as performance increase is not worth it for the price point. Do not SLI when you can get a single more powerful card. 12.5 Teraflops = GTX 1080Ti/RX490 or Titan X (Pascal) in Q1 2017. Consider AMD for lower price point and competition to drive prices lower. Get Nvidia for better optimization in power, heat, and drivers.

I can play 1440p high on a RX 480 4gb. I am selling my 2x RX 480s and I was thinking of picking up this card off of Amazon for $335. Can anyone comment on how well this card OC's compared to the others?! Noise, temps, end result?

So im stuck between this card and the EVGA GTX 1070 SC Gaming ACX, but since the Zotac GTX 1070 Mini costs 47 Euro less i would rather go with this card, so i was wondering if i should go for the zotac or the evga card. Thanks for any replies!

Good video, but really don't like how you recommend a low quality 400w PSU with a GPU like this. For a budget build sure, but if someone buys a card of this grade he should definitely invest in a high quality PSU with much higher safety. This PSU isn't a total bomb, but it surely isn't good one either.

You know, I think zotac nailed the design for the gtx 10xx lineup EXCEPT for that yellow backplate, I mean you would not know how many times I've considered buying one but didn't because it wouldn't match my colour scheme. :(

I have a full tower case but since im likely to be cpu bottlenecked in quite a few games anyway (fx 8350 non overclocked) im thinking about this card which would stil be an improvement over my unreliable r9 380. So should i go for this or the strixx and would this card help overall system temps by allowing better airflow or does it not matter?

I hoped youll talk a bit about temperatures. Its worth to mention that this card turn off fans at 55C and at gaming temps will go up to 75C and at idle it didnt go less than 44C (note: i got this last winter so it still didnt live trough the summer). You can use MSI afterburner to manually set the fans how you want them but meh. I dont know how healthy are these temps but just so you know if anyone is planning to buy it 2nd hand now when the prices went down. Its a great card overall. All games are running smooth at 60+ fps on ultra settings except AssAss Creed Odyssey which drops sometimes at 50-55 FPS. Good buy.

I have this card and its great. I don't think there is any card but the gtx titan X that will play 4k perfectly. I'm very satisfied with this card on my old 144 hz desk top because my 4k tv only plays at 60 hz anyway.

question. if my computer is running fine when i turn it on but my monitor says no signal, is there a good chance that something is wrong with my power supply? I ask because all you have to do is barely tap the prong where it connects to the brick and my everything turns off

I got the 1070ti mini in a prebuilt for 1200 dollars along with an AMD 1700 and ripjaws ram with a 600w powers supply, along with an AIO cooler master liquid cooler..idle cpu is under 25c! Common light tasks are at 29c..I do keep my place cold though.. I cant find a better deal and 4k with minor tweaking(average of two medium settings, 75% high settings and maybe a few utra if I am lucky) is a thing 4k@60 or really close to it at all times. Right now there is less than 12 dollars between the two on amazon..GO 1070ti ALL THE WAY. This card just honestly shocked me and it stays under 70c with a minor boost of 2005 +/- on the core and +/- 380 on the memory. I use my rig for tv gaming so 4k@60 is just amazing guys. This card will fit in almost anything I want into the furture as well as ITX and Matx form factors. The case I am in now is the MATX IN WIN 301 a case that currently costs around 85-115 dollars. Also my card is insanely silent even at a custom curve of 73 percent once 45c is reached. Guys this pre built I got is insane, I have searched for over 15 hours and have not found a better price to performance and features comparison and its MATX to boot so its semi portable without being so small that it gives up performance. If you could tell me that I could get 1080 like performance, a 8 core hyper threaded cpu (Yes I know its SMT), a liquid cooler, a 500gb SSD boot drive in a good case for under with a name brand memory module for 1250 with a 5 year warranty a year ago I would not believed it. "Shortest GTX 1070" ... *skips ahead, sees a 2-fan card* ... but what about the Gigabyte Mini ITX OC 1070 (6.65")? The Zotac 1070 Mini, according to pcpartpicker, is 8.27" (210mm). (Then as I'm watching, I hear you mention the GB card. :) ) I recently got the EVGA GTX 1060 3GB SC card, influenced in part by your reviews. :) (It's paired with an i7-4790K, ASRock Z97 Extreme6, Corsair AX760, Rosewill Thor V2, 3x 4TB + 1x 5TB HDDs (+ some uninstalled), 256GB Crucial M550 SSD, Windows 10 Pro.) My 3DMark Firestrike went from like 775 (Intel HD 4600) to 10490. Rise of the Tomb Raider (1080p high) went from 5.5 to 91 fps on the benchmark. GTA V on high-ish custom settings (est. VRAM use ~2 GB or so) got 60-100fps on the benchmark. Interestingly, though, cranking everything up to the absolute max in GTA V (so it'd show as using 8-9 GB VRAM at 1080p, although yes I did set the scale factor crazy high), the integrated graphics actually CRUSHED the 1060. The iGPU got 1.5-1.8 fps at the first segment of the benchmark, the 1060 3GB got 0.3 fps. (I didn't let the benchmark finish, of course.) I'm suspecting that's due to less latency from the CPU to system RAM, than from the GPU to system ram, as the GPU has to swap out with system RAM when its VRAM gets overwhelmed.

hi.. I have gtx 1070ti mini and my psu has only one 6 pin pci is it safe to connect it with this adapter?

im almost certain the founders editions are cherry picked. i can overclock my 1070 founders editions core to 2.15 GHZ. and gpu boost has taken it to 2.25 before. and if i only over clock the Vram i can ALMOST get 2more GHZ without artifacting. 770 offset. effective 1540 MHZ overclock. its INSANE.
