I bought this card to have a little bit of fun, but mainly as a source of GDDR6 chips. But before I reuse its guts... maybe it can be fixed?

I have tons of material recorded, but I'm not happy with the quality. I started uploading to show the repair either to my friends from work or the person I'm doing repair for (these are now private). I appreciate your subscription, I will get better at quality over time I hope.

@@DIYRepairHour he he, no worries. baby steps but you will get there. Remember, you can't make everybody happy, so if you're happy and OK with the result, then it's fine. You can, or maybe you already watch some guys online who are doing the same type of repairs. Northridge fix, mymate vince, the cod3r, joey does tech, northwest repair, rocket repair I think, tronic fix. You could use some of their advice or use some tips and tricks from them. I also like micro soldering but I didn't go to that level. Some bulged capacitors and maybe some broken wires. Keep it up. Looking forward to other repairs. Nice thing to help people around and make some extra money. If you help them for free, it's also a good thing, but the tools cost. I'm glad I found your channel.

The mosfets must be matched as closely as possible. The reason a lot of guys take them from donors. The problem with a random chip is it's electrical difference. Thus is if one can possibly get all the chips as a match at once cheaply to change all at same time will match phases closely one to the other. Just mosfets. This guy just playing saved this card. If he can get another just as cheaply he can really boost performance in sli, but the cable on top is needed. Very good playing sir, I commend yee.

Not that much skill is needed... I wish I knew more about electronics, as is... I have a bit of fun and try to learn by helping others with repair:)

@DIYRepairHour 11 месяцев назад
@@mecyanned yes, tools are super important, you can't do without them. And trust me I know, it's my hobby so 3 years ago I started with a wire of solder, a knock-off flux, $40 soldering iron and a $10 B&Q meter :D And with this I tried to repair a GPU :D Nope, can't do it.

Is the "alcohol method" to determine heat by how fast it evaporates?
@DIYRepairHour
@DIYRepairHour 2 месяца назад
In short - yes. But it's also about the pattern of evaporation. The part that is still liquid tends to move in the presence of sudden heat.

@@DIYRepairHour I have 2 motherboards in need of repairs. 1 PCIe x16 slot crashing on display entering into windows. The other one refuses to boot at all. no post no beeps no fan spin NOTHING.. Im at a total right now.

@@brexithope9084 for the first one it would need some more testing done. Like if it works fine with lower frequencies.You can probably configure the PCIE version in BIOS and see.
@DIYRepairHour
@DIYRepairHour 8 месяцев назад
@@brexithope9084 the second one I would start with measuring power button pins on the board. One should go to ground and you should have 3.3V on the second one. If there's a voltage and grounding it won't do anything then you go from there to your startup chip, these can go bad.

Nice try bro! Not sure if any custom PCBs can help for upcoming repair work? If so, would like to supply some free and with to achieve any YT collab together! (PCBWay zoey)

Yeah I know 😅 but they got better over time. Now I would take high-end zotac like Trinity over Asus lower-end like TUF. Still, high-end Asus is much better than high-end Zotac.
