Europe need to understand that it is mostly due to Russia that they are wealthy. Europe had a resource rich neighbor, but Europe wanted to colonize those resources as they have done with the rest of the global south. Now Europe will revert to the time when they had nothing, just like they did in the middle ages after the fall of Rome.

The German economy was anchored by the auto industry. As a buyer of a new BMW 24 years ago(E46 330 coupe) I can tell you they were not competative then and are far less now. If I remember correctly 4 key members in the government in the first Georgia’s “independent” state , including president , had dual citizenships : USA and Israel .
While Japan has been an effective one party state for most of its post war history, it ruled by consensus without a protest from other parties. Corruption was always endemic as it was based on the US system. Payoffs by politicians goes back to the immediate post war era. The bigger shock is that it has taken this long for the public to realise.
