@@ranvijaysingh7838 Sir, that is a great idea too! An independent, non mainstream actor alongside quintessential bollywood mainstream director! I would love to hear their conversations too!
One of the best actors of the generations meets one of the best directors! AndhaDhun and Gully Boy are probably one of the finest films to release in the last decade! Hope Ayushmann and Zoya collaborate together!
This question about Ranveer’s energy and how Zoya tames him is so annoying and keeps coming up in several interviews. But glad Zoya is able to answer that well by giving Ranveer the credit of being an actor true to his craft and role. It’s sort of a stupid question. You’re not supposed to be yourself in a role, you’re supposed to be the character. And any good actor would know that.
thank god you are called as "female director" ...we the "female doctors" inspite of passing the whole 5 and a half year mbbs course are being called as "nurse didi" in hospital...that's worse
You write my brain out ,about to write the ,same like only 20%peple call us or think us as dr ,otherwise it's sister ,that director need to clear her concept
Thank you for #GullyBoy zoya and thank you Ayushmann for #Andhadhun. Two of the finest movies of this decade. P. S. Have seen both movies 4 times already 😂 P. P. S. Please make a movie together 😭😭🧡🧡🧡🧡
actually, we do get called female doctors all the time...that is if the patients actually remember that we are doctors. Otherwise, we are just "sister" or nurse. Despite a stethoscope and despite t he nurses having a colour coded uniform and female doctors not having one. Casual sexism in India is more common than you realise.
That's horrible. It's good that you are talking about it!! Awareness is the only way we can bring change, even though Indians don't like to change. Stay strong doctor! 👍👍
Honest question. Why is it sexist tho? Even men who are nurses are called male nurses and models called Male models. I really don't see the problem. Its just done to point out the gender since mostly that particular occupation is dominated by the other gender
I hate how they ask that ranveer question all the time like the fuckk???? He is a grown-up human being with matured brain. He's not an untamed Lion brought into a circus. He's energetic because he chooses to be so but they're actors. They act like other people. It's so annoying every time that question is asked.
@@FilmCompanionStudios yesss I loved badhai ho too! I have been following your channel for years now and it gives me immense joy that you replied to my comment. Always look forward to your wonderfully worded reviews! Lots of love from Texas
@@wonderingalbie lol...not even close. Gully Boy is mostly riding high on the emotions of gullible people. Andhadhun is an actually well made film. Please don't compare the two.
I love the approach Zoya and Farhan has towards the movies. They are certainly game changes. Ayushmaan is amazing actor, he has versatility and sweet presence on the screen.
I hate how the industry looks at Ranveer as “energetic “ and assume he is unprofessional enough to be like that on a set Like what he just said “how did you calmed him down” like have you seen lootera ? He did That at the beginning of his career He is the most versatile and talented actor and most bankable in his generation so stop this I hate how actors praise ranbir unabashedly & there is nothing wrong with and do the exact opposite thing to Ranveer taking the credit from him every single time 😒 while Ranveer praise them even if they are not that good 😔😔
Lootera is his ONLY restrained performance. If he is being type cast, it is 100% his fault. Doing the same over the top roles one after the other with no regard to versatility or growing as an artist. And that showed in his performance in Gully Boy, it was a very weak performance where he was not convincing. He is too used to over acting now.
Actors should be apolitical because what if they have to play a political character, asks Ayushmann Khurana. Zoya beautifully explains you don't need to be a murderer to play one. Let me elaborate. You don't have to be apolitical to be able to play a political figure. You don't have to be a rapist to play a rapist. You don't have to be a murderer to play one. AS LONG AS YOU ARE NOT GLORIFYING IT. The problem is when you celebrate a certain crime, a dangerous ideology on the big screen. So be political, have an opinion, evolve and be fearless. You yourself admitted you evolved as a human being from a patriarchal man to the flag bearer of feminism. That doesn't mean that now you can't play a patriarchal human being on the screen. The problem will be when you justify patriarchy in your movies. Yeah. That was my two bit. Hope you read it and mull it over.
That's exactly what I was thinking. Playing a character whose politics doesn't align with your own is not an issue but if the portrayal of the character and that story doesn't align with your politics, then you shouldn't do the movie. The audience can make this distinction, so.. I mean, yeah.. if you can sell cement to us for money, you sure as hell can speak about politics.
GullyBoy and Andhadhun 2 of the best movies of the 2010s era. What a fab conversation. Both the episodes have been fun but this was slightly better, just becaise weve seen plenty of ranveer and karan together before. Plz make this happen: 1. SLB and Ranbir 2. Sushant and Anurag Kashyap 3. Raju Hirani and Kangana Ranaut 4. Vikram Motwane and Deepika Padukone 5. Rohit Shetty and Rajkumar Rao These would be fab imo
I like Ayushman, always thought he is very intelligent, never knew he too was a victim of Patriarchy, good for him he eased on it. BUT the wide difference become obvious with Zoya, her experience, craft, knowledge, in depth understanding of life, etc. is outstanding. Probably both may be of the same age, and Ayushman would had struggled more in life, but still he falls short of rich experiences and understanding of Zoya.
Zoya is very perceptive and intelligent!! So proud of her!! Ayushman is a great and down to earth actor, such a sweetheart, hope he continues to get good work... Great episode
@@Hleagh OK. Well, 'middle class' has a very different (insulting) connotation and I'd be careful how you use it (I'm middle class myself -- nothing wrong with our socioeconomic status or its ability to influence our ideas). I do agree with you, though. She's rather confusing.
It does not depend upon whether you belong to a small town or from NYC , The culture of patriarchy comes from the family, how your mother is treated in the family, how you have brought up. Everyone doesn't need metamorphism. Raja rammohan roy is also a small town guy mr actor #aayushman #Filmcompanion
Good combo FC! Gully boy meets Andhadhun! Both Zoya and Ayyush are such good speakers and immensely talented too. I would pay good money to see them work together.
Had been a fan of Zoya since Luck by chance. Always looked forward for your next release. Same with Aayushman. Great to see such a great talent (artists) interacting.
Great pairing! Can we get Sara and Kanagana next? I think their pair will be very unique. One has the experience and the other has studied extensively.
brutal subzero can’t wait for that haha, though I don’t even know if kangana will be called on film companion. A gutsy and headstrong actress is not everyone’s cup of tea.
for your kind information, Kangana already did this show with Nasserudin Shah and it was one of the most brilliant episodes so please find and watch that episode.@Winnie the pooh
@Winnie the pooh kuch bhi. If calling the wrong things out and making an effort in correcting them is complaining, then we are proud of Kangana... Her vocal thoughts on Nepotism, sexism has brought in a lot of change in industry. Now people no longer consider star kids as only talented and are watching other actors as well. Only most teenagers are interested in star kids now because their minds are not mature yet to understand talent.
Hey! Thanks for making such an original interview. The ideas of tapes are really nice. Both seem awkward with the idea at first. And then slowly start asking questions themselves. Its was amazing to watch!
This is one of the best interviews ever, related to Indian cinema and honestly let the tapes do the asking, we can let go of interviewers.. like seriously. It's refreshing.
Awesome!! Never thought I will see these 2 extreme talents together. The 2 people I absolutely love for their work. Zoya you better cast Aayushmann in your Next. Please 🙈 Aayushmann, I couldn't get a chance to interact with you on 15th Feb in my college VIT. I tried a lot but failed. Just waiting for the next time when I can see you live. ❤️
Best episode of the second season. For a change, two fascinating people who do not talk about themselves incessantly. They give due attention to the other person. And the questions are insightful too.
I found this a little underwhelming!!! The questions were so hackneyed.. Both of them have been asked the same sort of questions a million times before. And the length of the videos are excruciatingly small.
@@gauravreviews5983 I usually watch RU-vid chats in 1.5x speed.. I finished this in 10 minutes coz I played on 1.75x.. And Anupama ma'm ka reviews तो I often watch in 2x speed.
Slow down the speed lol, you will get the same info but you might miss other parts of conversation like how they were interacting between each question, eye contact, smiling, it really adds to the convo
One of the best tapecsst videos I watched.... Abundance of talent and pathbreaking personalities who hate to be in a certain moulds and like to break through... Loved it and can't wait to see more combinations.
Aayushman isent saying it but apart from talent he is also very very lucky. He's an actor in times of content is king, has low budget films doing multifold business. Has great supporting actors like Seema Pahwa, Annu kapoor, Yami, Bhumi etc. Basically he is being at the right place at the right time.In other words," Iska time aa gaya"
Actually he has admitted in an interview that he is lucky. But you know what I think he really deserves this. From being a singer who used to sing in train and collect money to a roadies winner to a tv anchor to a rj and then making a debut in a Bollywood film i.e. Vicky donor which became a massive hit and then going through a series of flops and then again making a return with dum laga ke haisha and from then being one of the best and most successfull actor of his generation.
Only for some specific film makers or directors I'm always excited about their new film or upcoming film. If I see that particular name under the poster then I just say to myself this movie I have to watch and I can blindly say this will also be a great directed film with a great storyline. Zoya is one of those directors I really care about.
Ayushman is trying to please her so much and trying to hard to be similar to her. But both your films were great. Both Gully boy and Andhadhun were great films
I see here Aayushman the smart actor, 1. agreeing to most things Zoya said, 2. ensuring a conversation outside this show, 3. Shades of trying to impress her with his progressive Feminism thinking even though at 18 he was a Chandigarh guy. I see Zoya as this rich kid who doesn't care, she has the funds, all A lister actors, exotic locations, she just wants to tell her elite rich cruise stories(a major exception was gully boy, i hope you continue to dig deeper here). Only request to Zoya is not to become female Karan johar or another Farah khan. Keep your individuality intact.
Is there any problem in telling stories about rich people? People tell stories which they can relate to and have grown up in that background. Eg:- martin scorsese tells stories of italian Americans and most of his movies are set in New York. Similarly, zoya has grown up in a rich household with celebrities visiting her on a daily basis. Moreover, her stories are not over exaggerated stories like karan johar. Her charecter, though rich people, feel like human beings. Charecters might be rich, but still middle class people like me are able to relate with some of her characters.
Luck by chance,DDD,ZNMD and gully boy honestly u ppl need to get a life Just bcoz they r rich ppl stories and she is rich brat doesn't mean the film is bad. Seriously go and watch trash Salman khan films about one guy and one girl. These masterpieces need ppl with high iq
Loved it! They had an intellectual discussion... I think Rajkumar Rao’s potential and knowledge was wasted with Farhan Akhtar. But then again I think that was to show the major contrast between quality, passionate, diligent artist v/s entitled, ignorant pseudo, self proclaimed artist.
