Hello from the mountains of NE Nevada 🇺🇲 Very useful and timely information thank you! Today I will start our Zucchini and squash plants to go out next month.
Glad you enjoyed it. Some varieties are more compact than other more spreading types so I would check the grow guide on the seed packet for confirmation of advice for the varieties you grow. In general on an open plot you should aim for about 3ft between plants, but when growing in beds as I do, where I have access to plants from the paths on each side, I usually plant my compact varieties a little closer.
your soil looks quite like a sandy loam. If I planted my courgettes as you have done, they would rot. On heavier, very humus rich soil i plant mine on a little hill with a circular moat at the base of the hill, if that makes sense? This method works well on my kind of soil. Thanks for a great video. Happy gardening 🙂
Nice idea. Thanks for the suggestion. My soil is actually clay .... very heavy in places ... but my veg beds have been improved over many years by adding lots of compost. Glad you liked my video. Have a great gardening year!
