Hi yes yes, I didn’t recognize azula’s voice in the previous episode. I understand it was pretty obvious to figure out, but because I didn’t hear her voice I made my own theory that the kyoshi warriors were brainwashed by dai li. That is all 😊 I really appreciate you all watching me on my journey, sometimes I get a bit caught up when I enjoy series as it’s my first time watching so I apologize if I miss things
So be fair, it would be kind of cool if they were brainwashed, just not as cool as Azula and crew impersonating the kyoshi warriors and proceeding to take over the earth kingdom.
Happy Zuko is like my lucid dreams. Youre afraid to acknowledge it because you're afrad it will disappear of you do, yet part of you wants to due to the sheer joy you feel looking at them.
so something even cooler about toph is that she didn’t just become a metal bender she CREATED metal bending nobody could metal bend before her she made it up from that time
@@Kyzen_Wrellit’s been confirmed that toph invented metal bending. Metalbending was just a theoretical idea that no one really thought was possible until toph did it. She was able to figure it out because of the fact that she sees with earthbending. This ability allowed her to feel the small bits of rock throughout the metal and bend with them. Without her ability to see with earthbending, she wouldn’t have figured it out. Which is why no one has figured it out until her. No one has ever become so adept at using seismic sense before.
@@Kyzen_Wrell As the other commenter said, it was confirmed that Toph invented metalbending. Aang was just making a comment about how it would be convenient, and I'm sure that was also meant to be foreshadowing of Toph inventing it
In case you didn't notice: Zuko's fever dream with the blue and red dragons. Azula voiced the blue and Iroh the red. In this episode that was his reality, where Azula and Iroh were trying to get him to choose.
A great comparison to ESB cause they both end in a very "darkest hour" kind of way. Also I always found Aang's vision of Katara in trouble to be very reminiscent of Luke's vision of Han and Leah in trouble.
I love the chakras cause the moment Ang left to help katara you can see the chakras being closed as he falls back to his fears, grief, and shame. Lying to toph, being afraid something bad happened without proof, afraid of losing katara, and by choosing earthly attachments he also latches on to his grief for the monks which also ties back to him being so worried about katara.
I'm always torn apart between love and hate with this finale: Katara looks so heartbroken when she holds Aangs lifeless body in her hands. Even after all her growth as a waterbender she couldn't "protect" someone she cares about who also gives the world the hope that the war can be won...
I’ve seen a lot of people shocked at Zuko’s betrayal (almost everyone is), and a bunch of folks in denial for a bit, but this was some of the strongest denial I’ve ever seen! 😂 Great reaction! Looking forward to the rest!
Not that there is a point to it anyway. Helping your enemy win the war just to infiltrate their files would be the worst plan I've ever seen. But I could have entertained the idea for a minute if he wasn't fighting Aang at 800% strength from the get-go xD.
Lol, loved the whole video but, cheering Zuko on with "Azula always lies, Azula always lies, Azula always lies, Azula always lies," made me chuckle out loud. Well done.
Azula and her girls replaced the kyoshi warrioers after they fought them during the appas lost days episode. Lol glad you caught it, i thought the voice would be the giveaway
Fun Fact: When Aang lied about mastering the Avatar state, Toph couldn't tell he was lying because they were not on solid ground. If they were, she would have known it.
This episode is so wild. Two big things were invented though, Metal Bending and the idea of Zutara. 😂 Among that and all the other stuff that happens in this episode, if you watched this as a child or teen, it sticks with you. It definitely did with me.
You have to think of Zuko as a 16-year-old teenager who has been desperately seeking his father's approval for years (even before he was expelled). Suddenly, he has the perfect opportunity to get that which (he thinks) he wants so badly. All the characters in the series have great development, but Zuko is undoubtedly the most elaborate of them all, and I would even say that his level of importance is on par with Aang.
Lol Tbh I was facepalming so hard when you were thinking they were still Suki & co. but just brainwashed. I was so sure you recognized Azulas voice in the last episode so it took me by surprise when you talking about them being brainwashed. Lol Pretty funny
I think the coolest part of watching reactions to this is watching them get so hyped for Zuko to complete his redemption arc only for him NOT to 😂 The disbelief and denial are always 👌👌👌
One of my favorite parts of this show foe reactoraa to get to is Zuko's decision in this episode. The complete denile soon followed by utter disappointment is just *chefs kiss*
This nice Zuko is just like how Sasuke was after joining team 7.He calmed down and let go of his "avenging the Uchiha" scheme. But as soon as he saw Itachi back, he reverted back to his old self. In the same way, as soon as Zuko saw Azula, he reverted to how he was before he was sick.
Sasuke even tells Naruto when fighting Gaara that he rather forget revenge and focus on his friends. Then Itachi comes in, completely annihilated Sasuke and made him relive the massacre for 24 hours. Sasuke would have turned bad eventually after that.
Letting go of attachment doesn't mean you stop caring or loving. It means you accept that its temporary. And you are prepared for loss. Whether it be old age, car accident or whatever. Having attachment only creates problems. You are sad if you lose it. You can get jealous or possessive. You can become angry and seek revenge. You become fearful of something bad happening. You will start making bad decisions. The list goes on and on. And there are no upsides. You can love and care without attachment. Its not easy and is considered a lifelong journey to get rid of all attachment. But its very possible to get close to 100% letting go of all attachment.
I’m sure this wasn’t the most important point in the planning stages. But i do like how in Book Two: Earth, Toph our native earthbender gets the most definitive victory. It is creative and it is decisive. Good for her! Everyone else… better luck next season.
The Avatar can absolutely use "subsections" of bending, but Aang had the most difficulty with Earth so it would be extremely difficult for him to learn metalbending. Especially since it seems to be incredibly difficult for Earthbenders too considering Toph is the first one to do it.
@@Celestia282 Ice hasn't been counted as a sub-section, I mean most of the secondary powers need to be trained in or are only achieved by a few members of a bloodline while ice seems to come naturally to waterbenders, it seems to just be normal waterbending just like ice is just normal water but cold. The sub-sections of waterbender are healing and that other things because apparently those don't come naturally but of course those distinctions are pretty artificial in the first place, as Pathik just said separation is the greatest illusion.
@@Arkayjiya Looking at the wiki, it seems you are correct. I always assumed that ice was a sub-bending skill that was just easier to learn, but I guess not.
So i have always liked the character arc of Sokka even back when he was not in my top five favorites. It’s in the back ground and it only gets any amount of prominence in a handful of episodes. In Baton Rouge of the water tribe we see Sokka saying good by to his dad. The last lesson he gets is “being a man is about knowing where you are needed the most.” And FINALLY Sokka gets to be where he wants to be, at his father’s side. But then Aang comes back and Sokka is forced to chose again. And he leaves and Hakoda looks so proud of his son. On a first time watch though it’s harder to see the connection between S1 E15 and S2 E19. That’s why i am pointing it out.
Rememeber back to the begining of the season, we learn from avatar roku that "if you are killed in the avatar state, then the avatar will cease to exist."
melon so confused. the last time we saw the kyoshi warriors was in the appa episode. azulas gang showed up and they told appa to fly away and suki the warriors fought azulas gang alone. clearly, they lost and then azula's gang impersonated them. im surprised you hadnt noticed by the voices when they spoke last episode. the kyoshi warriors never were here. edit: i see you looked it up and realized it a moment after leaving this comment lol
Avatar Extras The Guru This episode is part one of the Book Two finale. 0:41 Jook is rice boiled overnight until it becomes soft and runny 1:20 this is Chameleon Bay. The bay gets its name from the numerous color changing trees in the area. As of this episode, Aang has officially visited three out of the four air temples. The Guru is well over a hundred years old, hence how he knew the air nomads and was a friend of Monk Gyatso. He is the oldest person Aang has ever met and is even older than Aang. He is the oldest person in the Avatar World but NOT the oldest living thing. The guru spent most of his life studying yoga and meditation before reaching spiritual enlightenment. Now he is connected to all cosmic energy. The word chakra actually means "wheel". It represents the wheel of time and refers to celestial order and balance. Celestial order and balance are Avatar-heavy concepts. The fourth chakra is the "air" chakra. This chakra should be easy for Aang-he is an airbender, after all. Personal Thought: This episode does well in balancing how its audience feels. One moment you feel in peaceful bliss, and then the next, you can be in such an uncomfortable place. As the story builds, one group is getting closer to peace, another is getting closer to tragedy. These seasons almost bear an eerily resemblance to each of the Star Wars Movies like Season 1 is like A New Hope, followed by Season 2 as The Empire Strikes Back, and the third season as the Return of the Jedi. Crossroads of Destiny The Crystal Catacombs in this episode are a part of "Old Ba Sing Se". Before Ba Sing Se was a sprawling metropolis it was a small, underground city carved by earthbenders. 27:41 This is the same Dai Li agent that hesitated when Azula was lecturing the agents at the beginning of the episode. Rumor has it, he got his scar because he gave away too many secrets (as he is doing now). This is the first time Zuko and Katara are alone together in the series. And at 32:48 This is the only time Zuko lets someone touch his scar. 41:05 Melon…Zuko chose to *BETRAY* them. He made his choice and returned back to his ways. 39:33 If you remember from the beginning of this season, Roku warned Aang that if the Avatar dies while in the Avatar State, all past and future Avatars will cease to exist. Though we knew that Katara was going to bring Aang back with her special water, the writers have confirmed that Aang *DID DIE IN THAT MOMENT*. For a brief moment the avatar, the best chance at restoring peace to the world and ending the war, had died. Also seeing how information such as the avatar state and Katara’s water from the beginning of the season plays a part in the finale is a nice touch. In summary: everything is in shambles. As we move onto the third season, we leave this season where not only are the heroes beaten and torn, but the villains have taken over even more land, have taken down the power/government that poses a real threat to the Fire Nation, the possible ally has turned back into a villain, and they are hunted more now than they have ever been throughout the entire series.
So the writters broke there own rule. If Aang was 100% dead the Avatar Cycle should of ended right there. No excuse if he was "brought back" in 5 minutes 5 days or 5 years. Also in the "unaired episode" which was part of an online game Aang was told he was half way between life & death.
@@TheMrPeteChannelYou're really going hard in the comments to prove your point, huh? Ok, I will bite your bait. No, the rule was not broken. The point was, that when the avatar would be killed in the Avatar state, he would have not be reborn but he was brought back to life so the circle can continue. Is this really so hard to understand?
The metal bending is more bending the earth impurities within the metal. With Tophs unique way to "see" earth with her seismic sense, she's able to bend said earth within the metal.
Save that scene: Katara Crying and Holding Ang literally Dead due: Zuko betrayed them. That’s really sad how Kataras Cries so much for Aang, specially after when she used the water from the oasis. 😔😔😔 It was painful!
Still some of the best character drama and story in animated history, even the small details like how Zuko who’s been taught multiple nations’ philosophies and such does a waterbender move at 25:31
lol that's amazing, I think Azula/Mandy is also Vikky haha, Mr Krabs is also Lex Luthor (which is obvious when you hear him as Long Feng, its a similar role)
People were expecting too much of Zuko. He still has unresolved issues with his Dad and Sis, he's still a lonely kid trying to figure out his purpose in life, and part of him still longs for his father's approval. Expecting him to be 'betray' not only his dream of 3 years but his family (shitty as she is, Azula is family and has occasionally shown signs of caring for him albeit perhaps as someone to look down on or abuse) as well was a step too far.
Sorry to embarrass you but you are the first reactor amongst dozens I've watched this show with who did NOT realize that was Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee until ep19 xD Azula defeated Suki and the Kyoshi warriors (the fight we saw in Appa's Lost Days) and took their garments as disguises. And the very people who verified their identity left before ever seeing them in person!
This is exactly the kind of thing that I was thinking back in the first episodes. She said a lot that she found them too simple and childish so she was looking forward to the more complex stuff, but since the beginning she has been a bit slow catching up with she show
"Azula looks stronger than katara", yeah azula always had that "invicible" aura surround her, but you gotta remember that katara is a waterbending master and a prodigy just like azula, not only that but katara is even better than azula when it comes to learning and being a prodigy, in only few weeks of training she became a fully waterbending master, something no one ever did before. What makes katara feel "weaker" is because she is not always using her full potential because there is not enough water around, she fully depends on that small water pouch that she carries around to bend, using mostly water whip and small moves, while if she has enough water she will easily beat azula. A waterbending master will always be above a firebending master when it comes to their full potentail, while a firebending master can always use their full power since they have no requeriment, a waterbending master is limited to the amount of water they have suround them, wich is a disadvantage for them.
Nobody mastered any bending in a few days. They were at the north pole for multiple weeks, which admittedly is still is still fast, but don't make stuff up
@@guintar6661 "Nobody mastered any bending in few days" also katara mastering a certain overpowered bending in s3 by just looking at it once, wont mention it cuz its spoiler.
@@alyssongg8532 Katara was already a master water bender at that point. Wouldn't be that hard to figure out. Also Yue says to Sokka, "I've loved spending these last few weeks with you".
Spoilers Funny how azula wasn't actually lying to zuko this time, after taking over the earth kingdon he got everything he ever wanted, which was mostly his father acceptance, it's really sad how he had to go through so much to finally realize what he actually wanted, but at the same time makes zuko one of the best characters ever
Every avatar can do subsets of the four elements (it's part of why they're op). The only limit it how much time they have in their lifetime. Example when Toph first teaches Aang she teaches him to earthbend without seeing because she wants him to use seismic sense like she does. Don't get me wrong, he failed because it was his first time with his opposit element but she taught him because he is capable of learning it and any other sunset. Just as how Roku and Kyoshi can lavabend (amongst other things but no spoilers 😄)
This was amazing. From Azula playing 4D chess while you try to figure out how the knight works; the absolute denial of Zuko's decision and the moment to end all 30:25 . This was crazy to watch lmao
"You're really making her think you're on her side!" -Melon minutes before she was proven completely wrong 😅 Also, yeah I believe Aang technically died for a little while here. That spirit oasis water ain't no joke!
@TheMrPeteChannel Well, here's my source: Aang: "I went down. I didn't just get hurt, did I? It was worse than that. I was gone. But you brought me back." Katara: "I just used the spirit water from the North Pole. I don't know what I did, exactly." Aang: "You saved me." Book 3 Chapter 1 It seems like the fanbase is split between "He was in a coma" or "He was dead". I mean, just looking at the wound to his spine, how deadly lightning is, and the fact he said "brought me back" my money is on dead for a few minutes and brought back with spirit water
Hi Melon This was one of the most crazy finally in an animated Show My favorite assume moment is when Toph created metal bending Sad moment Zuko betrayal of Iroh Funny moment Toph let's Iroh in and Sokka and Aang are like he's Fire nation aaaah Is so funny
