Well, that's your opinion. These lyrics parallel zuko's internal struggle and storyline very well. Also, not everyone interprets his character development as sad and tragic..

I've probably seen this show a dozen times and I can tell you that aside from sadness I saw hope, lust, guilt, anger, confusion, peace, betrayal, appreciation, fear etc. If you think sad songs are the only way to capture this utterly complex character, you are wrong.
