UPDATE: - If you die with a Lunar Staff it will disappear without you being able to reclaim it! A Dramen Staff is better for this reason. - Amethyst Darts are typically cheaper than Rune Darts and they have a slightly higher Range Strength Bonus. - I forgot to mention you want to use your Blowpipe for Specs. The extra health can help a lot! - I never realized there is a Deposit Chest in the middle of Zul-Andra! You can put loot in there if your inv is getting too full. - Bringing less Gear to swap can be helpful for learning. Depending on what gear you have access to, Gloves and Boots have the most potential for this. Barrows Gloves benefit both Range & Magic, and Boots play a minimal role in dps, so not swapping them is alright. Thank you for making a guide based on those who need it. So many guides use max gear and stats which most of us dont have. When i see other creators/guides flash their max capes or gear, I immediately find a different one. 'Preciate it man.
Small pro tip. If you get the wrong rotation you can simple log out or world hop before you enter combat. This puts you right outside the encounter. This Should save some time/gp in teleports
Maging only and bringing more food made it a lot easier to kill while learning. Helped me learn the movements prior to doing the switches. Would recommend!
Hey quick tip. Bringing something up, then saying you will touch on that later, multiple times in a few minutes, makes the learning process harder because it’s not linear. Everything should be told in the order it would happen in.
Nice guide :) also nice rng on the pet and the mutagen sheeeeeeeesh One thing that I learned the hard way is if you don't have Lumby elite done, bring a dramen staff instead of a lunar staff cuz lunar staves get deleted when you inevitably die. Also some people like to use lunar spellbook for the Cure Me spell but maybe that's just ironman content. One neat thing about Cure Me (and all anti-poison/venom potions in your inventory) is that you can click your HP orb to use it, which makes it much easier to use during the fight imo.
The cure me spell also doesn't prevent combat or movement like it seems it just interrupts it so clicking on zulrah or the tile after using it lets you lose no ticks, spamming your hp orb before the venom ticks can guarantee 0 venom/poison damage once you get used to the animation stalls, but it is probably better to only use it before it starts to ramp and during down time in the beginning.
Watched this video THREE times and felt so confident. Walked into the fight, thinking I would easily roll through Zulrah. Died almost instantly 5 times Edit: The video was phenomenal. It's not you, it's me. Also OSRS mobile
Thanks man, i got my first kill in 4 mins after about 6 or so tries, then i started understanding the boss and i wasnt that scared. Then i got a 3 min one, great guide thanks, time to farm!!
@@harlock321 dont be discouraged if you die its gonna happen try to learn one rotation at a time i prefrer the range rotaion and only do magic and safe spot during tanzinite and magma
I’ve never done this and I know little about it but from how you’ve explained the limited 4 rotations I don’t think it actually just becomes random at the end of your rotation. If there’s only ever 4 possibilities it’s gonna have to default back to one of those rotations as it’s literally impossible for it to do anything else. Unless he’s just coded to do a random phase each phase after the initial rotation I just don’t see how it would work. That leaves us with two possibilities from a technical standpoint. 1. It’s defaults back to the whatever rotation you started the fight on which would assume it’s predetermined when you enter the instance and doesn’t change until the instance is left. 2. It randomly picks a new rotation out of the four in which case you would just restart the plug-in and “plug in” the new app information and it should give you the new rotation. I could be completely talking outta my ass here but from what you’ve explained and from the other videos I’ve seen I just don’t see how it could be random.
Finally! Someone who has them doing Zul'Rah in their video* It's been surprisingly hard to find one where people don't jump cut around all the time, even if it's kinda hidden in the description :p
Great vid dude. I’m a lvl 96. I tried 3x in a row and died so fast I thought I needed to be way higher. But with this video I am certain I’ll get this boss down after a few tries now.
Gz on that early pet and thanks for the guide. I did like 60 kills and had a feeling the melee hits could be avoided but wasn't doing it reliably until I watched your video.
The only zulrah guide, i as a ironman can also use and relate to. The weapon recomendations where a huge help. Cause i cant bring a blowpipe till i exually get the drop... from zulrah .
Thanks for this, I have 60 KC but have only just come back to the game from years away, I remember getting a mutagen on my first kill. Hoping for similar luck
Absolutely amazing guide and detail on how to kill zulrah. I can't thank you enough for helping me kill zulrah for the first time for diary. Rotation guide helped a ton!
Great guide! A little tip I would've mentioned for the ones that are REALLY having a rough time with switches is that Zulrah's magic phase can be completely nullified by standing behind a pillar. This allows you to only focus on the ranged phase, bringing only magic gear and more food. You will have to go through the Jad phase and Zulrah will reset, but once you know where to stand you shouldn't be taking damage from ranged hits on mage phase. This is not optimal for multiple kills, but it managed to help me get my first kill for the diary.
Great guide, I got my 1st kc on 1st attempt, but died just as zulra did lmao, still counted as a kill and the drop wasn't much, so nothing lost. Going in for round 2 now. Thanks
Thank you kind sir for the guide. Just got my first zulrah kc after about 15 deaths. I still haven't learned how to position myself properly, but spending 30m GP for gear helped a lot :)
Finally mustered up the courage and killed The snake motherfluffer. Literally watched so many guides. All of them are good. However gear is all that matters; -Serp helm no worries for anti venom - ROS no recoil swap , this is huge - ancestral over arhims ^dps - Trident of the swamp over seas which does no damage ffs. - imbued heart range pot and angler overheal. -TANK THE JAD PHASE LOL Dont worry about memorizing phase it's BS you'll learn it by the time you've died and killed her over 50 times. BIGGEST TIP. AS SOON AS SHE DIPS DOWN SWAP YOUR PRAYER FIRST!!! THEN GEAR
The best advice to getting 1 kc is by syncing your fight with one of the videos and stand where they do and enable the prayers that they do, if you don't get the rotation they have, tele out regear and heal and go in until you do. It's tedious but this was the only way I was able to get a kill on my main account years ago after 40 or 50 deaths
@@unknflux7364 we're both wrong. It's 150kc for elite combat diary. Can easily cheese 1kc for the hard diary but you gotta put a bit more effort into learning mechanics for 150kc imo
You messed up on one part at the end the rotations are not random they restart. It always ends the same with a green range at the center he will attack you with range then place down the smoke clouds the exact same as when you started but now a new rotation starts so you have to reset your plugin (reset zulrah rotation the two arrows making a circle at the top right). Hope this helps :)
wait so you dont have to rush it down on the first rotation? and is the next rotation the same as it was or could it be one of the 4 again just like at the start? i only manage to get it down to 100 before the rotation is over and have to teleport out...
I recently mastered zulrah. Took about 30 kills to get proficient. By 100 kills your a master. But I remember thinking I'll never get zulrah down lol. Zulrah is hard to learn but your right once you get it down its completely cake. And just got my first collection log item in sub 100 kc. Nice little uncut onyx for me ;) but im really just there for the mutagen lol
Can confirm elite void was useless for this.. soon as i switched out for ahrims nearly killed it next go threw tormented on top of that and nailed it. tormented makes a huge difference to dps and the mage only method to learn comment was huge and how i begun getting kills (: p.s logging out has been mentioned in earlier comments but is massive for you to learn one rotation to get some confidence, highly recommend getting the green range phase first as this is best for mage only method and you cand hide behind pillars during the mage phase to eat and pot up (:
another pro tip, dont need to waste house tabs if you have quest cape, just favorite DIQ and BJS and set the QC for left click tele. right next to a fairy ring. Get some BJ'S from Zulrah, and go home to lay some DIQ to your OS girlfriend. (how i remembered it till i realized favoriting fairy codes was a thing) Its a small save of 500 gp, but i use to use 2 tabs a kill, thats 1000 gp saved. and 1000 gp saved is 1000 gp earned.
Amazing, thorough video. Thank you. Died over 30 times before my first kill, and last night I hit 50kc :) (bursting monkeys from 75 up to 88 magic helped a LOT)
For the life of me I'll never understand why people do Zulrah with swaps. You don't kill him any faster than just going straight range. In fact, 99 times out of 100, you kill him significantly slower than just rune xbow+ruby bolt(e). Feel like it just overcomplicates the fight and increases the chance of a missclick or failure to notice a damage spike you have to eat through.
I feel a lot more comfortable trying this out now. Basically my take away is learn where to stand, attack with magic unless she's blue, and my with my stats I'm definitely gonna die but can get my stuff back all the way until I start getting some kc lol
I tried zulrah twice. First time I got hit for a 40, 35 and the little things finished me off. Second time, I realized I don't have a clue what im doing and teleported out. Fuck that.
idk why but this thing is so difficult for me. Haven't been able to get it past half health. Just so much stuff going on and trying to keep track of everything is tough. I guess Western hard diaries will have to wait lol. Vorkath just seems so much easier
Actually lost the last of my gp (750k) buying teles and dieing to this p.o.s snake… watched all of your guides countless amount of times on this boss and still can’t learn what I’m doing wrong… I’ve been looking forward to killing this boss so I can actually make money for once but it made me go bankrupt.. idk why I still play this game
@@nolimitmoto119 I can imagine yea, I tried zulrah multiple times but never got to master steady kills.. I can only kill it consistently on my main using a twisted bow.. but since I play Ironman I’d like a blowpipe and serp helm.. guess I’ll never get them lol so zulrah probably also gonna make me quit eventually..
I'd like to note that at 10:14 you state that the rotation is random once you finish a full rotation. This is incorrect. See that little button on the top right of the plugin panel? Just click that to reset it and start the new phase with it like you did at the start of the run.
ive read somewhere that the second rotation of a fight can sometimes differ from the rotation helpers the longer it goes on. i've never had to fight zulrah for long enough to fact check this though
What I said is correct, I tested it myself to make sure it was true. I stayed at Zulrah for awhile without attacking and went through a few rotations in a row. The first two ended up being normal but on the third cycle Zulrah randomly came up in a Jad Phase way before she due for it. Sometimes it might be the same, so resetting the rotation sheet is somewhat viable if the kill is close, but it's not guaranteed, which is why I recommend for learning that you do not stay super long after a complete rotation.
I put a little section in at 4:08 about it. Basically I think Thralls are better for consistent, set it and forget it, damage, and Veng has the most potential for a faster kill, depending on you properly proccing it on Zulrah. I personally stick with Thralls.
Note that Zulrah is currently not that great money, but it used to be excellent. There's always the potential for it to shoot back up if scales and related items increase in value!
