this has been my fav audiotree by far! as a black kid that grew up in the suburbs skateboarding, and listening to bands… the whole “talking white” part struck a chord with me. i remember when kids in middle school used to make fun of me for it. i never really understood it until i got older much love zulu and psalm one ❤
Same, I remember being the only black/mexican skater in my county, and basically the tri-state area. Doesn’t help that I grew up in a small podunk backwoods country town, people used to say I was a demon worshipper and satanist because I listened to bands like Whitechapel, Suicide Silence, All Shall Perish, Bring Me The Horizon, Winds of Plague, Oceano, hell even when I listened to Asking Alexandria, Every Time I Die, Chiodos, Memphis May Fire, For Today, Pillar, Underoath, The Devil Wears Prada, Attack! Attack!, they still claimed I was a satanic, pot smoking, deviant.

I've found so many good bands through Audiotree over the years, but these fellas might take the cake. Holy shit. Also, if the band is looking at these comments, and the dude playing the JR Jazzmaster sees this; what is that fretboard material? I have the same guitar, but my fretboard is ebony, and that is blowing my mind right now.
i have loved getting into the hardcore scene the past couple years since the pandemic and makes my heart even warmer to see some brothas doing their thing in the scene too, y’all got a new fan in me!
My first thought was “damn the drum sound good.“ As I kept listening to “shine eternally,” I realize I love the chord progression in the chorus. That’s so cool
