Mmm delicious spaghetti (╹ڡ╹ )
As previously announced in the posts, today's arrangement is 『勘冴えて悔しいわ』(Kansaete Kuyashiiwa) by ZUTOMAYO(ずっと真夜中でいいのに。). There's no official English version of the title yet, probably because the words '勘(kan)' and '悔しい(kuyashii)' are quite difficult to convey the same feeling through translation. If the title were to be translated word by word, it would be something like 'Frustrated because my senses are too good(?)', but I think 'Know Too Well' would be a more proper/concise title (does anyone have other ideas?).
The song is a blast from start to finish, a lot of instruments playing something in the background sometimes giving a chaotic feeling. One thing I found interesting was how the song was structured: the interlude came right after the first chorus, which is a choice rarely seen (at least for me).
This is probably the fastest song from ZUTOMAYO I arranged so far, and so the difficulty became correspondingly higher than I originally intended. As an attempt to counter this, I reduced the amount of LH jumps throughout the song. (but it's probably still hard haha)

I feel like I've been saying this since 2019 back when you had around 500 subscribers but I will say it again. Your mastery on arranging Japanese rock songs is unmatched. It's hard to capture the high energy of these songs on a single instrument but the different techniques you use such as countermelodies in the left hand, syncopation, dynamics, staccato/rests, etc make it feel like I'm listening to the original songs only without the voice. Congratulations on 4k subscribers ~ I will always be cheering for your future success :3

This synethesia is BEAUTIFUL. Your arrangement captures the song's energies and rhythms exceptionally well. Seeing all of the parts of the song transcribed so colorfully and fluidly is so moving, it reminded me of the excitement and awe I felt when I first listened to this song. 듣다가 숨이 막혀 죽는 줄 알았습니다.. 정말 숨 돌릴 틈이 없는 편곡이네요 ㅋㅋ 처음부터 끝까지 어디에서 쉬어야 할지 모를 정도로 꽉 차있었다는 느낌을 개인적으로 받았습니다. 리듬감은 늘 대단하셨으니 말할 것도 없고, 1:13 왼손 베이스 라인은 정말 예술이네요. 2:38부터 시작되는 세 손 테크닉도 정말 좋았습니다. 구독자 4천명 축하드리고, 만명도 금방 가실 수 있을 거라 믿고 있습니다!

곡을 처음 들었을 때 쉴 틈이 없었던 느낌을 최대한 살려보려고 했습니다. 거의 정신없을 정도로 달린다는 느낌이라 저도 편곡하면서 재밌었네요ㅋㅋ 감사합니다! 하루카님도 곧 만 명 되실 것 같은데, 저도 빨리 그렇게 됐으면 좋겠네요ㅋㅋ

I really love your arrangement style. I think its more creative and appealing than a lot of the top midi arrangement channels for jpop/jrock at the moment, honestly. I really like how you often mimick any piano parts in the original songs whenever you get the chance to, and the way you write the LH patterns, they almost never repeat, so there is always something new and interesting to listen to. Most people just copy-paste the whole thing every time something is replayed to save time. I hope to be as good as you are some day.

Thanks a lot! True, I'm actively avoiding copy-pasting because it reduces the uniqueness of the arrangement. I guess that's the reason why each arrangement takes so long though haha. I'm really happy you're enjoying the arrangements, and you'll definitely become better and better with practice!

in the description, you said that the piece turned out to be much more difficult than you intended, so you reduced the amount of jumps in the left hand to make it easier just out of curiosity, could you post the original difficult version in the description?

Here's some tips/advice based on my personal experience: 1. Try to arrange various songs (possibly different genres). The more experience you have, the more kinds of chords/melodies you'll be able to discern! 2. Search and study the types of chords and chord progression. Some elementary music theory might help you better understand why some chords should come after another, and also might make you aware how certain chords sound. 3. Some practical advice: try to figure out the highest note (e.g. melody) and the lowest note (e.g. bass). Then you can find what's being played by "filling out the gaps". For example: does a certain section sound sad (minor chord) or happy (major chord)? 4. Practice your ability to hear out different instruments in a song. This would also help filling out gaps when you're lost. In general, I think 1 and 2 are the most important, but you could use the rest as a shortcut. Hope this helps!
