Hi, Please consider cutting the pins close to the capsule to remove it and leaving only the pins on the PCB. Then remove the pins one by one with the soldering iron. In the end, use the solder plate, but only to clean the hole, which is completely free. For years I used this process, because a PCB cost a lot of money and the chip only cents! Don't take chances! Nice, thanks. When working on rare boards for specific use my way is to cut the pins of the top of the IC chip, then pull the pins one by one while melting solder whit iron. There are industrial board were ic's are pressed in the board, thats the only way posible. Destruction of IC, but its mostly logic or driver type, not to exotic. Boards are unobtanium.
I like your videos keep up the good work. I have a pukka Hakko de-solder machine, but I still prefer my RS metal green tube hand de-solder pump most of the time.
@@HappyLittleDiodes : Hi: Yep that's the style, quite a powerful thing to be fair. For smaller de-soldering jobs I tend to use that rather than wait for the de-soldering station to heat up, as I said they're not cheap but worth the money if you use it regularly.
