Giving my viewpoint on the quick shift system on the new Gen 6 post-ECU Flash, which has been a hot topic with these bikes.
Note.. I am not a tuner in any way, nor do I claim to have experience with that type work. I am solely speaking from my person experience with working with my tuner on this bike, and talking about the outcomes of that work.

I have a 23 Zx6r KRT edition all stock so far. I noticed the same thing on upshifts with the quickshifter. After many forums you are right these Kawas like to live in the higher RPMS. Whenever I shifted below 10k it bogged a bit. Shifting above that or on the power band around 13500 it felt smooth. Great video bro 👍

Agree I have same bike 2023 krt they love to be rev up and shifter is butter smooth stock. Same with low rpms works but not as smooth all timing i say. No complains so far love the bike need to flash and tune tho.

I just picked up my 2023 ZX-10R I waited till I was over 100 miles to turn on the QS. It’s not horrible but I also have a fully modded and tuned 2023 S1000XR which has a fabulous QS that only got better with a Bren tune stage 1 and 2. I want to get a few hundred more miles in the 10R before any mods. I have heard a lot about the ZX-10R QS and hope that now that Woolich has gotten the QS maps unlocked it will get better, when I go do my in person tune we will be spending a lot of time on it.

I got my flash from Moore and I am pretty happy with it. I do notice the downshifts, but no big deal IMO I'd rather deal with that than the jerky throttle pre flash. I wish the flash could've solved the surging I get at really low RPM coming to a stop in first, but that isn't the tune's fault but rather the really open system I have installed with the Arrow Pro Race exhaust. My understanding is that the more open it is, more surging you get but also better performance riding the bike. It's all give and take

@Dream talked with some other owners, it’s pretty normal on these bikes. I barely notice it anymore the more I ride. It only happens briefly between 1k to 2k rpm which 99.9 percent of the time the bike isnt going to be there, unless you’re riding in places with lots of stop lights

I have the issue you are talking about with the downshifts. I talked to my tuner and Chris Moore and they both said that the bucking is what happens when you turn off decel fuel cut. If you leave it on it’s smooth but the bike doesn’t run the way it should so I decided to have them turn it off and deal with the bucking.

We tried it both ways and at least for us we got better results by turning it off, but then he also spent a good bit of time smoothing out the shifts after we made the decision to leave it off. Thanks for the comment!

@@TheBearJew175 Chris is definitely a very talented guy when it comes to tuning bikes, and has years & years of experience. So long as he can do it in person that's where you'll get the best results, I've seen a lot of people have issues with his flashes on these particular bikes when the ECU was mailed in. Most of the problems were all AFR related.

Wouldn’t you not close your throttle when manually down shifting tho after you give it a spike of fuel for rev matching? I’m confused. I don’t have a quick shifter or an auto blipper. I do it all manually

With the fuel cut setup how it is on yours, what did you guys do to keep the on/off throttle butter smooth….my gen 6 is turn off like yours but I have a slight hesitation with my on/off throttle…..it’s like is coughs or hiccups for a second then it goes….not very good for trackday or the street riding where smooth in/off throttle is VERY VERY IMPORTANT!

I currently have a 2024 zx10r and having the same issue. I was told from my mechanic that once the stock cat is removed and flashed with the new exhaust that will be how the bike runs from there on out. Since there’s no back pressure from the cat it’s just all power coming from the engine. I definitely don’t like the jerky feeling coming off the throttle. Will be checking for more options to smoothen out this issue this week

Mine responds very very aggressive when I auto blip downshift. When I bought it guy told me it has a flash on it. It’s also gp shift setup. It’s not as bad when I downshift at a high rpm but low rpm is WICKED. Balls slammed into tank. Definitely have to be in sync with it. Smoother would be nice but normally when I’m downshifting with quickshifter I’m moving anyways lol

Mine does exactly the same. It jumps forward aggressively when downshifting. Any gear below 9k rpms is horrible. When it was stock is was amazing. I'm not happy at all with this problem.

@@Peanutbutterjelly00 I mean I won’t go out of my way to pay for this specially to be fixed but when I get a new flash I’ll inquire about it then lol. Looking at going with a Moore Mafia flash. It has a superbike unlimited flash on it now.

Does disabling decel fuel cut off remove the on/off throttle slap? I have a ZX10R and lets say i am in 2nd gear and 60kmph. I am not touching the clutch. Now if i throttle up abruptly and then close it down abruptly, the vehicle gets a little upset. It feels like a hard chain slap on the wheel. The transition from on and off or off and on are not smooth. Can this be fixed? if yes to what extend?

Wanted to ask, is ur engine brake control off or on low setting when u took this video? Wondering if it's decel fuel cut disabled + low engine brake that caused the jerkiness.

Can you tell me what phone mount are u using and how did u put the phone mount? I have zx10r 2023 and I couldn’t find any good phone mount. It is a huge problem for me to not have gps.

Check out Amazon and look for (RAM Mounts RAM-B-367U Motorcycle Handlebar Clamp Base with M8 Bolts with B Size 1" Ball) specifically. Once you get that then you just need a Quad Lock phone mount and it matches up to it. Works pretty well, good luck and thanks for the comment!

Why would anyone leave the engine decel cut on? Taking it off gives you smoother engine breaking and no nose dive coming off the throttle.

That's a good question, but there is a lot of debate in the Zx10 forums about which way you should go with that one. I just know we tried it both ways and leaving it off provided better results

I just had my 2023 zx10r flashed and dyno tuned and between 6k and 8k rpms the down shifting is terrible it JUMPS forward. My tuner doesn't know how to fix it. He says there's no access to the auto blipper settings.

Definitely sounds like what others have had happen. One thing you can also do on your end is go into the bike settings and turn off the KEBC setting and that might help you a bit too
