I know you made this video 3 years ago, but I purchased a 2016 636 in 2018 that was still brand new at a dealership. I learned how to take off my fairings because of you. I learned how to change my oil (without making a huge mess while getting out the oil filter) because of you. Thank you for making these videos and for leaving them up for us to still watch years later. I appreciate it. Thank you!!
Definitely. While the bike is long gone I still answer questions and comments about it almost everyday. It was one of my favorite motorcycles to have. Thanks for watching.
Hey, you see these red pins/tabs/clips, one connecting to the fuel tank and the other to the airbox. How on earth do you put them back in place, I have spent hours trying to, but it does not want to go back. I would really appreciate your answer.
I think you are talking about the push clips? Here is a video of the air filter that shows the red clip that's on the fuel line. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ekt47mqdOdE.html
Watching this video as I take mine off. I'm having the issue that the bike is pushing off coolant seems like from the overflow. You said we need to prevent that. How do I prevent it? I know this video was a while ago but would be great if you can reply. Thank you.
Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you. What I was talking about with the coolant overflow line is this. You want to make sure your overflow tank is not empty or to full. It its empty that would allow air into your cooling system and reduce the cooling efficacy. If its to full when the bike gets hot the coolant will expand and run out onto the ground or all over your bike. Now there are other things that could cause coolant to run out like a radiator cap that is weak and letting off pressure at a lower psi than rated. You could have a bad head gasket that when the engine is pushed it will put combustion gasses into the cooling system also. Hope that helps.
Can you make a video on how to remove the front fender (tire hugger)? The clips holding the brake lines are a pain and are hard to remove. Manual says to remove front tire, but others are saying you don't have to.
From what I have has apart the faring's all seem to mount to other structures like the frame. The frame is bolted to the engine. I think that's what you were asking? I didn't and haven't yet seen where the faring is mounted directly to the engine.
Sorry I need to add links to the description of the tools. It a wratch type screwdriver wrench. I got mine from Matco tools. I found some online from places like craftsman. I will send you the link in a second. If you dont see it check your spam messages on youtube.
Here is that link to the tool www.sears.com/craftsman-5-pc-reversible-offset-ratchet-screwdriver-set/p-00941469000P?sid=IDx01192011x202447059&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5fDWBRDaARIsAA5uWThuNlqkBbGzea-DIQTsNR5aup-7Kgte6WH5mxsai-MRogfjtTn-Ko4aAjoGEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CJfH7Y2IztoCFU3oZAod18gPDQ
Piston Slap I’ll soon have a 03 so I’m not sure if it’s comparable, btw I’m referring to the lowest part under the plastic, it “cuts” the bike in 2 having the tank on top then it ends going low next to the rear break/shift. I’d like to wrap it in vynil but I’m not sure if removing it is actually possibile
+Quang Lam the service manual shows every three years or 22500 miles (36000 km) It also recommends to replace the hoses. I personally flush the radiator fluid once a year.
i have the back seat cowl for single rider brand new i bout it for 50 but i will sell it for 40 brand spanking new it did not fit my 06 kawasaki zzr600
There really isn't a exact instruction set I just take stuff apart for the most part. There was a forum zx6r.com It has a web address for the factory service manual that I had downloaded about 6 years ago.
This looks like a hassle .... My idle light on the shifter side is having issues staying lit, so I'm going to figure out what's goin on, but I don't want to take apart the entire bike lol! D;
if you have the same model bike, check out Dave Moss. He has a few videos for the forks. I just changed the springs and oil in mine and it was really easy with the correct tools.
