Trivia: If you've heard this in KFMod2.5 then you know it was originally much shorter. This track started off as a candidate for the new menu music and later evolved into a guitar track for another candidate which ended up being the second half of Outbreak. The original one minute version of Containment Breach was never intended to ship but was "accidentally" included. Since it was going to stick around post-KFMod it needed to be extended to a reasonable length which led to the version today.
It's actually a shame that a fair portion of the original music from the mod was dropped (At least, I assume it was dropped if not remixed/re-done). Though I can see how some of those original songs might not quite fit the pace of the final version, I still wish ones like Chainsaw Chaos survived for the steam release.
More trivia: David (Rattic) was brought in because Alex forgot I was going offline for a couple weeks while moving and thought I quit. He did some pretty great stuff. It's not really common for someone to stick with a game/mod for years unless they're really invested in it. Alex and I kind of clicked on the design direction and being more involved provided an incentive to stay. About retail, I can only speculate. Dev time was only a few months and the team was very small. I think anyone that can hand in an already completed soundtrack then go off and work sound design (where I spent most of the time) is going to be seen as a good value. No discredit to David or his work. I just think decisions around retail were based on a lot of other circumstances.
Speaking of Menu Music and Rattic, what were the lyrics for the menu music in the KF mod? I've tried to listen to it and I was only able to make out a hand full of lyrics like "the end is nigh, you're going to die" ect
this music is truly epic, and putting it into a game where you fight zombies wasn't bad idea. but i want to see full potential of this song. something epic. not just hard, but hard and epic which would release your emotions and parts such as 1:51
I have only recently found out that you not only have a website but that a lot of your Killing Floor work is available for purchase. I have bought 3 of your digital albums for 1,50 and I do apologize for being so cheap. Very little spending money you see. I intend to buy the Killing Floor Soundtrack as well as a physical copy of Soundtrack For The Apocalypse in a few weeks when I have more money to spend. Your music, as well as the game are both frigging awesome and deserve some more DOSH.
Jebus...no words can describe how truly epic this is. I'm usually the type to love fast-paced melodic metal and melodeath metal, especially with moments of insane double bass pedal usage, but holy shit this epic. It's nice and slow to give that feeling of intense carnage, killing and destruction. I love it. Ever think of doing something just like this but a bit faster and with a more melodic, but still gritty like this, feel to it? If you have, then ignore the question. I literally just found out about you, so I'm in the process of going through your stuffs.
Just turn on Vocals and wait for a Demon Hunter song, Collapsing, We Dont Care, This I Know and Infected just make the game epic. Anyway, it isnt the same, zYnthetic stills being the best one for Killing Floor and it will never change lol
zYnthetic , tripwire buy the songs? you know about that, no? the Game Killing Floor , uses all this soundtracks, but well, this songs are amazing , it's a shame not have found this songs by my choice, but well, i love this songs! Greetings.
