When you first go whole food plant based or WFPB you get a little gassy. Microbiome stuff. If you’re thinking of going vegan for your health and/or reason. Ease into it. Start with meatless Mondays and go eggless for a week. Then meatless weekends. Etc. I went vegan in 2003 and ate poorly for about 10 years. I also didn’t know as much about nutrition and why Homo Sapiens evolved to need vitamins B12 and D. Most folk fret over protein. Ain’t nobody in the USA suffering from low protein! lol Y’all ain’t getting enough fucking fiber!!!!!! Take on beans and whole grains {whole intact groats [Barley, Rye, Oats, (pseudo grains like millet, sorghum, quinoa)] which are edible seeds from grasses and still contain the bran, germ, and endosperm} properly. Rinse for 30 seconds. Soak for 8-12 hours. Rinse again. Boil for 30-40 minutes. Season and enjoy! If your gut flora isn’t used to such abundant food for it, you create anaerobic metabolism and farts. Go slow. Take it easy. Transition gradually into a new routine. Be healthy and happy. Weenus.
Oh yeah. Eat fruits and vegetables. Nuts and seeds. Mushrooms and seaweed. GreensGrainsBeansSeedsNuts&Slime! Take vitamin D B12 and potentially some other vitamins and supplements to live long and prosper
For those curious, about 5% of Americans eat enough fiber. If you don't, and then you eat fruits & vegetables like you should, then you're going to be gassy because your gut flora aren't used to it. If you continue to eat enough fiber, then your gut flora adjust within a month and you can eat vegetables all day without getting gassy. The notion that it's normal to be gassy after you eat beans is simply borne of so many people eating low-fiber (i.e., not so great) diets.
Does anyone remember "Freelee the banana girl"? I'm...so sorry...never been vegan, but did follow her for the...horror show, of it all (?), for a while, a decade ago... Hey, vegans? Fruit, maybe. On an empty stomach. Most other vegetables are better absorbed in COOKED form. Broccoli wasn't even consumed raw, until the 1980's, on those stupid veggie trays. Broccoli should be cooked! Raw broccoli can hurt your thyroid gland, if you were having it everyday.
Every agonizing sphincter/social moment is SO True!.... Like Kalinga's diet from Wayons Bros. film "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka" Bean Pies & Bean Sodas for Everybody..... Y U M!!!
I wouldn’t say that was incredibly racist. Maybe if they had straw hats, glasses, squinty eyes, and buck teeth while holding chopsticks… and don’t pretend that’s something they wouldn’t do.
Something tells me not many people, including Seth and the writers, actually met first generation Chinese immigrants, or they wouldn't preach this kind of crap. Also, Seth and Family Guy staff are absolutely in no position to preach like this, it's disgusting hypocritical.
I remember how bloated and gassy I would get being a vegetarian or eating meals like this. Low energy, runny very foul smelling stool. I don't have have these issues anymore on a animal based diet.
This is very true. BUT(-T) as a man who has some completely vegetarian days, and has my meat days, I'll say the veggie days are gassier, but the meat days are stinkier. True story.
