Thanks for the video sir. This just happened to us camping and I was somewhat worried it didn't go through the shutdown procedure. Luckily in my case I was able to fuel back up and it started right up because we woke up cold at 5AM because of it 😂
Have one of this , but only run for like 5 minutes and shut off, I started again and only run for another 5 minutes and shut off, I disconnected the CO2 sensor , but still same, some advice?? The oil level is ok, the spark plug is new
@@mauricioalvarez2444 yeah man so it's actually going to be one of two very simple things. Number one check and see if you have a fuel cut off switch somewhere. If so make sure it's turned on all the way but it's also common for those to get clogged up with dirt and stuff. If you don't have a fuel cut off switch which this specific model does not then it's going to be your carburetor which is extremely easy to work on. If you've never worked on them there's lots of videos on RU-vid and they're much easier than you think they are. But essentially you're simply not getting enough gas going through. It could be the needle inside it's just simply stuck.
@@MrTaylorfenoglio yeah, but, the cover is not that easy to pop off. If someone had knowledge of how to do that, it would have been helpful. There are things easy for some and hard for others. If doing an instructional video you have to assume that people don’t know HOW to do something as easy as popping off the cover. And….. it wasn’t that easy.!
The reason it kept shutting off is because you probably didn’t fill and check the level of the oil correctly. On this model, when the oil level is right, it will be up in the oil filler neck at the last thread. You check it by removing the stick, cleaning, and just placing it back in the hole, do not thread it in! The oil should read right at the very TOP of the stick, not the last 1/8 inch at the bottom. Even when checked as I described above, if you let it get down to the very bottom of the stick where it barely shows, you’ll have starting and running issues. As soon as the engine crank starts falling oil around, and it’s already low, that sensor may cut the engine off.
Important to note here the importance of adding and checking the oil correctly. On this model you remove the oil dipstick cap, wipe, and reinsert, but DO NOT thread in. The oil should reach the upper level mark, essentially the level should be at the last threads on the engine case. If you check the oil incorrectly by threading the dipstick back in, you will get an incorrect reading and think you’re okay, but actually be low on oil. If the engine oil is allowed to reach the lower limit on the stick (when checked incorrectly), this engine will not start, or will start and shut off, because of the low oil sensor cut off feature. I got one of these (a like-new 2019 model in 2024) for free from the curb because it wouldn’t start, all because it was low on oil when checked correctly. Checked wrongly by threading the stick in, it was right at the lower mark, but checked correctly, it would not show on the stick at all. Judging by all the forum posts on this model about starting and then shutting off, there are.a lot of people making this mistake.
Thank you! The closest Kubota dealer to me wants to change me $20 shipping for the $24 belt. Trying a kevlar alternate and I'll let you know how it works, but great video!
Seriously, thank you for making this video. I installed one on my sprinter van and since I sleep in it, i was curious what could happen to it during my sleep
I just started having this problem on my 2016 Mustang. Radio, dash lights, a/c all turned off but car still drove. For sure an electrical issue. I’ve read someforums say it’s a bad gateway module.
I really wanted to thank you guys for putting this video up because like said before in another comment I sure thought it was the fuel pump as well , this was a very bad time for this to happen, 2013 ford flex , went to Auto zone, got the fuel pump relay modular part number 601-225 , easy to install 10 min. Thanks again !!!
I put the smaller fuel pump on last year after I removed the vro and it ran fine but occasionally it acted like it was starving for fuel . So I’m putting the bigger one just like the one you have now to see if it makes a difference , my question is there’s two fuel inlets on each side that have a Directional arrow pointing in on each side how did you know which one to put your inlet on ?
From what I understand is there are several reasons to get this message. But for me simply unplugging the head unit and blowing out the connector worked for me.
Sure 😃 that's me to the right in the video hanging out in downtown Pensacola. We saw the group of guys walking and he just hit his head on the stop sign 🛑😂
So I had this happen to me a couple months ago. And this fixed it no problem. However it threw the wrench code afterwards. Car runs fine, but I threw an OBD reader on it today to try and figure the code out and it’s U0109. Lost communication with fuel pump control module. Since I know I e replaced this part I tried clearing the code. Won’t clear. Anyone else run into this? Any ideas?
Unfortunately I didn't but the code sounds connected to the issue. Id start with literally unplugging the new part and plugging it back in again then maybe try and replace the part next with an oem part.
*This is a AWESOME **Generater.Systems** and is super quite! I run propane and it works great! Purchased for camping and emergency power at the house. A for sure purchase!*
