waooo finally someone has done that of using the black gopro 7 for fpv, friend what transmitter did you use to send the signal to the monitor and if you did any configuration to the camera. I am interested since I have an F450 drone (armed drone) and I have an sj4000 for it
Hello, The GoPro was connected to the vehicle's original HDMI input and the video was steamed back to the original 3DR controller like it normally would. I was then able to see the video stream in the fpv goggles by connecting an HDMI cable to the 3DR solo controller HDMI output to the fpv goggle HDMI input. All of the streaming was done by the original 3dr solo, so in your situation you will need to find an HDMI transmitter/receiver pair to stream GoPro footage to your goggles.
On 3rd Duracell-1000, Two of them died because of the switch, I cut them apart with a sawsall and used it for a bicycle where I could use a high-quality switch craft toggle switch to operated. A few days ago my 3rd Duracell 1000 flashlight switch started acting intermittent. I have unscrewed the end cap from the flashlight housing found an access hole near the side of the center contact and sprayed it several times with tuner cleaner. I repeatedly turned it on and off and it did not fail, though I think the flashlight has a poor switch design and will probably die eventually.
Had 3dr for years didn't even know about this feature.. lol. If you don't mind can you tell me if 1) is it still doable with Silex being the app now 2) How to set stabilize mode for button A Thank you !
Hello, The solex app will allow you to make the proper changes for flip and roles, and if you have an Android phone you can still pick up the 3dr solo app. I had to enable Advanced Flight features, look for that option and enable it. After that all you have to do is set up your buttons to allow the maneuver, and to recover from the maneuver. For example, you could set the "A" button to Acro Mode to allow you to flip and roll, and then set the "B" button to GPS Mode so you can push that as a last resort to keep from crashing. That is the gist of it, and you should be able to find those options under the old 3dr application or solex. Let me know how it goes and happy flying!
Hello, try to pinpoint the issue through the following steps: 1- turn on your TV, plug the GoPro 4 in and then turn on the GoPro 4, you should see a live stream, if not then check the gopro settings. Repeat step 1 by plugging in the GoPro into the TV, turn on the GoPro and then turn on the TV... one of these combinations should stream video and depicts how to apply it to your 3DR. Step 2 - try another GoPro or generic camera on your 3DR to ensure video is streaming. Apply the methods of step 1 to your 3DR to see which combo allows the video to stream. If video is not streaming on the 3DR then there is an issue with the 3DR and or app/phone. Depending on steps 1 or 2 you may end up at step 3 - Introduce change - where you check and try the following: try another or different type of HDMI adapter cable, update GoPro 7 firmware, ensure the 3DR is updated using the 3DR Solo app, try using the app called Solex, switch phones to an android device, use Solex to install Open Solo. Something has to give within steps 1-3, I know it's not fun and takes forever but you should be able to find the issue using these methods. Let me know if you get it, and happy flying.
@@Duddyfunguy Thanx.I have the eachine EV800D FPV goggles and tried to get video to them via the HDMI port off the transmitter using a mini HDMI converter box.Its not working and dont know anyone yet that has got it to work so looks like ill get those DJI goggles instead.Unless you know a trick or 2 to get the eachine goggles to work.
Yes, a GoPro 3 or 4 will work. The 3DR Solo works best with a GoPro 3+ Black or GoPro 4 Black. You will use a HDMI cable to connect the 3DR Solo Transmitter to the DJI Goggles. The 3DR Solo transmitter provides the HDMI out video stream from the drone/GoPro and feeds it into the HDMI in port of the DJI Goggles.
The Mikrotik card you are referring to is for the 2.4Ghz data link transmission between the drone and controller. I installed the mRo GPS. This unit is very similar to the M8N GPS.
can i fly with just a HDMI and the controller with an extrernal monitor? i hate having to rely on phones being charged ect, so if i set it up ONCE using the app can i fly after that with only a monitor?
Yes, you can fly using the HDMI out port from the controller into a monitor after setting the drone up using the application. The monitor will not show you battery, altitude etc, but you can see some of that on the controller. Also, you will not be able to start or stop the gopro recording if you are using a gimbal. If you are using a fixed mount then you can start recording before taking off.
Thanks for a great post. I also have the Duracell 1300(and three Duracell 1000's) which I LOVE, but the battery-compartment cover on my 1300 was "frozen stuck",,,unable to open. Using your technique to access the battery compartment, I was able to remove and replace the dead batteries with a fresh set, and it's now as good as new. I had tried everything imaginable to remove the battery-cover, including heat,,, WD-40,,, all to no avail. I doubt the battery-compartment cover will ever be usable, so this method is a great answer for an easy fix. Fortunately, I have the same needle-nose pliers as yours (thin jaws) and after inserting the jaws into the LED slots that your video showed, I was able to remove the LED by rotating it counter-clockwise 'til it simply lifted out, and my dead batteries easily slipped out the front of the tube. Although my old batteries were completely dead (ZERO reading on my volt/ohm meter), there was no trace of leakage or internal corrosion in the battery compartment. I tested a new set of batteries, and they each showed 1.6v (full charge). I always test new batteries,,, just in case. I've learned the hard way that batteries out of a freshly opened package, are not necessarily "good". A few years ago, I bought some heavily discounted batteries from an electrical-supply store,,, only to find out that they were ALL deader-than-a-doornail, straight out of the package.(less than 50% required voltage). Thanks again for your great work!!
If you plug in a battery tester, like the Madhatter, the battery will stay on quite a while after unplugged. Plenty of time to connect the charger and start the storage cycle.
I use the Solex application on an android phone. More specifically, upgrading/updating the drone and controller to Open Solo makes the drone a lot more stable.
Brings back some great memories, every winter if we were not at Petersville with our friends at the Forks Roadhouse, it was because we were at Eureka. Nice cornice carving! Thanks👍
Thank you. To be honest I can't remember how I displayed the GoPro 4 menu on a monitor. After plugging into the Monitor and going into the settings it just displayed for me. I'm not sure if there's hdmi-out changes that need to be made in order to do that. On the GoPro 7 I played with there are options for the HDMI out.
The 3DR battery is 14.8v which should work on a typical 12v automotive light bulb, so if you can turn the battery on then yes, it should work. Sometimes the smart battery feature makes it hard to turn the battery on.
The Duracell 700 (originally from Costco bought in a 2 pack) works very similar. The head has a rubber grip that slides off and the head does not split like the one in the video the glass fish-eye lens has a rubber gasket & screw-on/off metal holder - then the light cell screws off (use needle nose pliers) - otherwise almost identical.
Most, if not all, of my videos were spliced with CyberLink PowerDirector. I started with 13 Ultra and now I'm up to 16 Ultra. This video was put together with 16 Ultra. You can typically find the Ultra version around $50 or less on their website or through Slickdeals and Newegg around the holidays. I suggest staying away from the hacked versions... hope this helps.
@@Duddyfunguy ya I'm more of trying to figure out how your video came out so clear. Premiere pro keeps making my footage really grainy and then RU-vid compresses it more. Looks terrible
Sorry to hear that. Approximately 8 years ago I demoed the different commercial off-the-shelf video rendering programs that were about $500 or less. At that time the winner for fastest rendering and clearest video on my i7 Windows box was CyberLink PowerDirector. Of course results may vary given the camcorder and hardware different users have, but I have yet to deviate from PowerDirector.
