If the government pressed for peace negotiations in Ukraine, instead of supporting the US’s ‘provoked’ proxy war, that has unnecessarily cost tens of thousands of lives and billions of pounds, it would have been able to buy plenty of cheap energy from Russia. Instead, the government has pledged three billion a year, indefinitely, to Ukraine and taken two billion a year away from some of our poorest pensioners, without any consultation - despite the cost of living crisis! It’s shamefully clear that the government cares more about supporting needless wars than the welfare of citizens at home and abroad - many of whom are fleeing from the needless wars.

Pensioners who have just been rinsed of £300 by labour would love to go to New York for a few days at New Year cos she declared it only cost £1250 - what a bloody lie that is - this lot are more corrupt than the last lot by a country mile !! Labour have always been known to dip their snouts in the trough more often and deeper than the rest
It’s refreshing to hear Sharon Graham, Unite Leader, talking common sense. We could do with more Union Leaders and Politicians who have a bit of common sense. Journalists, reporters, politicians etc all talk about the £300 winter fuel allowance but it’s only OAP’s over 80 who get this amount, those between 65-79 get £200 and now it’s only those on Pension credit who will get the WFA. It’s more worrying if they decide to remove the 25% council tax discount for single person households which will affect young and old single households. Why should a single person household pay the same amount as their neighbours where possibly there are 2 parents and several children or adult children. This would be a huge financial burden for the single person as the payments are 12 months of the year in comparison to a one off payment of the winter fuel allowance. It’s sad that our new government are so mean, cruel and vindictive to the people of the country. Why, Why!!! Don’t insult us by blaming it on a 22 billion black hole which is rubbish. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
All us pensioners should thank Sharon Graham general secretary of Unite for such a fantastic speech at the labour conference. It was her speech that dramatically helped defeat the government over the winter fuel payment. She is the only public figure that really fought for the pensioners. I know others fought against the callous motion as well, but she really did fight for us. After saying that I'm a doubting Thomas if the callous new Labour government will do a u-turn.
Everyday people are poorer today for one reason and one reason alone. The rich are getting richer. Its as simple as that. Starmer is so far up the rich mans arse, its beyond belief. He loves his rich man bribes he insists on calling "donations". He will not be giving them up anytime soon. He's going to stick it to the poor and vulnerable, whilst honouring the bribes he has accepted from the rich man. you can see, if you look closely enough, the puppet strings the rich man has attached to him. I can see them very clearly.
I have a quick question for for the general secerety of the union I have been a member for for over 35yrs, you talk about supporting the working class people and memebers of the union so how come Unite have not stepped up to the plate with the decimation of the UK workforce of Fords in Britan? You fight tooth and nail for the public sector workers in the uk but for myself and other members of Fords we feel constantly let down. Our union is weak and sits in the pocket of the company with many benifits over the average workers here. Last year we voted for action against our paydeal a postal ballot in which the majority of people voted for action, only to have that over turned on the recommendation of the union, the JWC and every Conveyer on the premise that people did not know what they was voting for. May be the problem was that we always get told year on year to accept the offer dont fight the offer basically be greatful for what you have been offered as your lucky to have a job. Unite at its absolute worse. Decisions made by an unelected, by his memebers Conveyner that is kept in place by his cronies to reap the benifts of use of company cars, free petrol during the week and weekends. So as a skilled workingclass member when will Unite step up and represent us in the same way as it does its public sector members, when will you show us in the motor industry that your willing to fight to save what little we have left in the UK before it all disapears. When will you stand up for the younger members that worry about what their future holds and whether they will have a job in 5 years time. All we ask is to have the same representation as other members in other sectors, the same will to fight for your members that pay our dues each week and keep all of you in your jobs. With pay talks around the corner for us in Fords, will you show us that your on our side and not in the pockets of the company and give us the chance to secure a future for the young and the old in the UK before more skilled and unskilled workers get thrown on the scrap heap like so many before.
Seriously passionate honest and powerful ..never voted labour but if this Lady was in charge and cleared the decks of this awful government..could be tempted .
