Wonderful video , thank you for sharing. Beautiful peice of jewlery. my eyes are not what they once were, is there any way you could include more close up photos of certain steps, like in the introduction..a straight down view of glass placement before you put in mw , after it comes out ? There was a great close up near the end. Maybe I just need a bigger phone lol. But thank you for this tutorial. I've learned from you on other videos as well :) very clear instructions and great work. 😊 ty
Thanks a lot for your videos! 🤩👏🏽⚡ Whar kind a glue do U use to stick the little cristal from not moving while is turning around in the microwave? I looking for these. Some Use super glue, which I don't recommend. It was a desaster every thing turns olily brown. Others use school and water, but they don't say the exact mix. Can U help me, please 🙏🏽💚😊 Thanks for your time and video! 🤗⚡
Use the standard high heat setting on your microwave. There isn't a specific temperature that the kiln reaches, it varies throughout the process. Bring the kiln up to heat (check after 2 - 2.5 minutes) and then to avoid over heating, run for short periods of time pausing to briefly lift the lid to keep the temp down.
Thank you for a great video - I appreciate it very much. Could you please tell me if there's a way to stack separate pieces? Any tiny shelves for a microwave kiln? Is this a terrible idea? Thanks again.
Firing separate pieces simultaneously is not recommended. The typical microwave kiln firing method requires multiple stop-start inspection cycles and could result in stacked shelves being jogged or bumped each time the kiln is opened for inspection. If multiple glass pieces are being fused, it is likely that a spill or unintended fusion of pieces could occur. If multiple silver clay pieces are being sintered, then a cross-weld of the pieces is possible. The normal approach to increasing the volume of production of pieces via microwave kilns is serial use (one after the other) of multiple microwave kilns.
extraordinary technique, excellent video, is that paste you use made of silver, like liquid tin? What is it called or how is it prepared? extraordinaria tecnica, excelente video esa pasta que usas es de plata, como el estaño liquido? como se llama? o como se prepara?
We used Art Clay Silver paste type. This is a real silver paste that you can use by itself or to glue silver clay pieces together or to add texture to silver pieces. This paste comes in a pottle that is already prepared for you.
my microwave glass sheft just broke while fusing, what should I do, this was a brand new microwave? Can I buy a kiln sheft to go in the microwave instead?
