My channel has videos mostly revolving around computers, technology, music, and gaming. Usually of the old variety. This was my first exposure to Linux. Found it in Costco in 2000. Frickin' AWESOME! This software package came with a load of software, hard disk utilities, etc etc.
3:40 to 4:00 What the heck could that 379 mean?! Surely it can't be a production code because they must have made tens if not hundreds of thousands of those things. It could be like a super low model number but then how is someone meant to write a bigger number in such a confined space? Plus how would they keep track of who has written what number? It just doesn't make sense... Wait... 379?... Could it be?... 379... you subtract the 3 from the 7. You get 4.... yes, I think I'm onto something... you take the 7 away from the 9 and you get 2! But there's nothing to take the 9 away from.... Nothing, zip, nadda.... a big fat.... zero?
This video really hit home in several ways... I know I'll be thinking about it for a few days but that's very much a good thing because I really do need to think about some stuff in my own life. I just wanted to echo what Druaga said in regards to his comment sections. Everyone is always so nice, and chill. I've seen the odd bit of toxicity but it's very much a tiny drop, in a vast ocean. I don't think I can say the same about any other channel of this size. Anyway... Where ever you are Druaga, what ever your doing... I hope you feel rested and you're enjoying whatever you're doing. Peace.

Im finallly doing something very druaga1, you are the only reason i know that i can use sd cards with ide cables and all that, and know thatll work with old versions of windows. i first saw your videos in 2015, with i think it being "minecraft on the windows 98 machine" and i was only about 9 or 10 years old, but ever since i had computer access i have always loved and wanted to build a windows 9x machine, and tomorrow after a long wait, i am finally doing it, and i will be putting it on an sd card. thank you druaga1. you have always inspired me to do crazy ass shit with old tech, and to have fun with it while doing it.
This was the first Druaga1 video I ever watched. At the time I knew nothing about computers, I just clicked on this video because "ooh, MacBook" and I quickly became a huge fan of his videos. Maybe one day, he'll come back and bless us with his SSD shenanigans.
miss you man, after discovering ur videos nearly a decade ago i wound up working with old computers and i am currently fixing up an old ibook hope ur doing well <3
Watching this again just by random chance 7 years later, smiling at the fact that you're using Kubuntu in this video and I'm watching this from a desktop with Kubuntu installed lol
This is timeless, because of backward compatibilities Win 11's Windows folder (and System32 / SysWow64) still looks like that with improvements, it's just like a common repo folder for all the Windows Devs push all their works there without any sub folders. Back in the days we just take it as is and treat it as a huge playground to see what we can see there.
It also runs well with absolutely no install issues on Windows 11. Office 97 Pro is my favorite suite and version. I was expecting install problems and issues running each app. No problems at all. Bloody well made my day. Like greeting an old friend.
Nowadays, Windows doesn't want you interacting with the filesystem whatsoever, to say nothing of the Windows folder. It wants to screenshot every single thing you do on your computer and make you ask the AI to find your files, when it's not too busy serving you ads or selling the screenshots it's made of your personal info to the highest bidder.
I bought one of these recently, it overheats, I'm hoping the SSD is going to reduce the heat inside because the old spinning HD generates a lot of heat
