Yesterday I watched Family Search video recommending that you don’t add living people to Family Search. I was thinking that was odd, because I believe FS asks everyone to add themselves, their parents and grandparents.

Great question!! FamilySearch has records that have been made available by record custodians according to laws applicable from where the records came from. Some countries have laws that don't allow records to be made available until 100 years have passed since the birth of the person or only if records confirming the person's death are also available. These laws do not apply to all countries. So, yes, there are record collections available that contain information about living people within FamilySearch. It is important to note that we care for the privacy and safety of the people that use our services. 🌳

I like this feature and have tagged many fam to their cemeteries. However, I havent figured out how to to tag to their specific burial plots as this is an arial view. Is there a way to do that if their actual plot #s are known? Thank you and still a cool feature. 😊

I LOVE doing family history and I love family search! My family is a mystery but papa's family tree is HUGE (I'm adopted)! Some of his branches go to the 6th century, although papa isn't completely convinced the links are 100% accurate.

Malo lava Noah! It's a trip to see your from Ferndale WA, I grew up in Bellingham WA which is the main city there that Ferndale is a suburb of. We moved there in 1991 and were the only Samoan Family there in the 90s besides a few individuals that went to college or took a job there. We had many family parties at Lake Padden park just like yours was in the video, which is great to see. My family is also from Vaimoso, we moved directly from Vaimoso to Los Angeles in the mid 1980's so it's highly like that we are related because Vaimoso is all family...."Nu'u Loto Tasi" is how our village is best described. Anyways very cool to see you go back to the motherland and learn about your roots, I hope to take my daughter to Samoa someday and show her where I was born and started out as a young buck...lol Hope to run into you in Bellingham as I'm there a few times a year to visit family and friends.

The video content doesn't match the title. It merely says you can export in excel format. It doesn't give any suggestions about analysis. For example, coping with dates that are not formatted consistently.

This was a great tutorial to get me going on Family Search. It caught my attention that you are from Otto Wyoming. I grew up in Powell. I was recently back there for a visit. During my trip I logged on to my mother's Family Search account. After discovering several interesting ancestors, I realize I need to get my own log-in. How will I do my tree if I want my mother's ancestors to transfer over to my tree without entering each one?
@familysearch
@familysearch 7 дней назад
That's great! After you create your free account on the website, the first time you view your own pedigree you will see a Begin Your Family Tree screen that contains easy to follow steps to help you enter information about yourself in Family Tree. That will get you connected to your relatives. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Wondering how a man who does not know the exact father but rather a family group of brothers where his father sits can use this to determine which brother is his father? If they all inherit y dna that is identical it’s not going to help determine which one is his father. What other techniques would be recommended?

Beautiful presentation, great information but the Pro-Tools idea is terrible. You are trying to charge extra for basic functionality; please stop this madness and make one subscription tier which sets the bar for everyone else.
