im still trying to figured out where to connect extra powered speakers, im already using MONO output to connect my powered subwoofers, any help please!?
Regarding the Tape/CD section, do the RCA OUTPUT JACKS include the INPUT Music Source AND the Mic'd Channels? Or, just what goes IN the Tape/CD input comes OUT those jacks? Thanks.. And do those RCA outputs have a separate volume control?
This is the best video on this mixer. Thank you. I'm still trying to figure out what the "PWR AMP" outputs are at the top with the unpowered outputs. Not a word about it in the manual.
I'm very new to this kind of stuff, can I plug a mixer to this? if so, do I just connect the output of the mixer to any channel of the Fender and It should be working?
great video. just bought this used (in 2022). the manual for this model isn't even available anymore. The Master/Main and toggle button explanation was what I was confused about. well done. thanks
So by using the main outs 1/4 inch I could connect to my bose or mackie powered speakers? Would there be a drop in quality by using this connection as opposed the the main outputs of the mixer on the back with a passive set of speakers.
Ok I have a very specific question on connecting speakers to this mixer, I have this very mixer which I use with a pair of EV-SX 300 passive speakers, now I want to connect a single sub either active or passive to this set up just to take the extra heft from heavy bass signals but have no idea if this can be connected to my currant set up, any direction on how this can be done or not done would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
I have not been maintaining my website for a couple of years but I happen to see your comment and glad that I did. The solution that would give you the best sound is probably an active bass or subwoofer . You would pull the sound signal from one of the line-level jacks located in the upper right of the board. I describe how rhis works starting at time 10:57 in the video . You will gain clarity and better sound if you use EQ to reduce low frequency (0 to 350 hz) in your passive house speakers. The sub should be connected to an Aux output with the EQ having freq above 350 reduced.
I hope you can help me! ***SUB FILTER*** I think my sub filter is set up backwards. When I turn it on and turn the frequency down (30hz) my powered main signal cuts out completely…as though everything above 30hz (just about everything) is being passed to the sub. When I turn it up to 200hz all the highs go away and lows come through the passive mains that the mixer is powering. To me it should be opposite… all the highs should stay through the mains and some frequencies get passed to the sub. When I turn it down to 30hz, the sub should be mostly quiet because virtually everything is above 30hz… sending everything to the mains… and when turned up to 200 hz the sub takes on more and the mains lose their low end. Instead, at 200hz… my mains lose all their highs and only produce low frequencies. What am I not understanding? ***Edit**^ This setting works when in main mode…in any mono setting, everything is filtered off… regardless of where the signal is going. When in main mode, the mono signal is low frequency only and the mains are running normally. Presumably, when doing it this way, you won’t drive your mains as hard because those low frequencies are being driven by something else
My effects processor section on this mixer is not working. The display works fine, and I can select effects between 01 and 99. The FX button seems to work, too, because it lights a dot next to the number. I guess that the effect is supposed to be on when the dot is lit. The problem is that I get no change in the sound. No reverb, echo, nothing. All the FX knobs are maxxed out in every channel strip, and the outputs (FX to Main, FX to Mon 1, and FX to Mon 2). One thing I notice is that the FX level meter doesn't show any incoming signal at all. I speak into a microphone connected to a channel strip with the FX knob up. I only get the signal on the master meter but not on the effects processor meter. I have the schematic for the PMX1000 by Behringer. I would assume the circuitry is very similar to this one. What could be the problem? Is there part of the circuit that collects all the effect signals on every strip and connects them to the effects processor, like a bus? I need to fix this mixer. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.
Just saw your questions...did you discover the reason for no effects,? Unfortunately my Pmp4000 got sold so I have no board to experiment or play with to try and replicate your problem. just shooting fron the hip . . . did you have the "master fx" slider up? First slider in group at lower right of board.
Thanks for your answer. I did find out what the problem was. Opening up the mixer I saw a little daughterboard screwed and plugged into the main board, right below the effects section. This turns out to be the effects processor. A technician friend discovered that one of the resistors on it was shorted, and he tried replacing it with a new one, but we still got no signal in the effects input, so he concluded that the daughterboard is shot. Perhaps one of the integrated circuits was burnt out; we don't exactly know. But we also found out Music Tribe is the agent for spare parts for Behringer, among other brands, so I reached out, and they gave me the part number with a list of service centers to contact, and one of them will get back to me with a quote. Now I'm waiting to hear back.
The tech also said that, because the board is easily removable, he has the feeling that the manufacturer already knew it was going to be likely to have a problem.
wow Omar! Thanks for the updated info! please keep us informed on the progress. I am sure there are many other people who have the same problem and would benefit from your solution.
I literally bought a PMP 6000 yesterday, used from Facebook Market Place, this was an invaluable video since mine didn't come with a book. I see it has been several years since you put this up. Thank you for keeping it on RU-vid.
Fellow PMP6000 owner (about 3 yr) here. Learned pretty much everything about this board the hard way, there is an absolute dearth of information on this series of boards. Just discovered this video today. Invaluable.
Helpful video Thanks v much. I picked up one of these recently for very little money. It sounds good to me and will be handy for small gigs. Just thinking about using monitors and maybe other speakers.... Does anyone know what the exact model number is, and also what output in Wattage it pushes out?
Hi Frankie . I recently bought Powered tops Ev zlx12P. Could you explain how I can run these powered tops through this powered mixer. I understood you said use mon send section. Will this( mon send) still act like a normal main L and R and can the mono slider then be used as the main volume ?. I just want to be sure , dont want to damage any gear experimenting. Thanks
Dear sir, can you update this video and have some special features or tricks that you have learned along the way. I am interested in how effects can be looped or is this even possible, I have a drumcomputer that 'kick's in but I want it to have an effect or actually multiple, such as reverb, a bit distortion. Please share your knowledge with these excellent videos. Thanks mister
Yes, of course. But you must use the output 1/4 inch jacks in the upper right of the board. this is shown and discussed in the video at times 1:20 and 12:00.
This was an awesome introduction and tutorial to the PMP4000. Once you confirmed my suspicions were correct about the outputs on the back requiring Speakons, my issues with amplitude were solved. Thank you so much! And the little tutorial on initially getting the channels ready fir levels, priceless.
Glad it was useful . . . it has been 5 or 6 years since I produced these tutorials and I figured they were too outdated and I should probably remove them from RU-vid. As long as even one person finds them useful, I will leave them accessable.
Lennox, while I have your attention (perhaps) . . . If you have 15 minutes to spare, could you please take a look at my video "Special Topic #3 - Mics and Mic Stands"? I'm just wondering if it is too fundamental .... too slow ... too long to be of any use. Here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ORgqaIg_cI4.html
Man, how do you use the "record output"? It's giving me a lot of troubles. Sometimes my cellphone records audio from there, sometimes not. I'm very frustated.
Now this is how all tutorials should be with a simple, clear description highlighting all connections & controls and real time demonstration of what everything does and what order to do it in with no unnecessary talk, just plain, simple and comprehensive tutorial that everyone can understand 🤗🤗
Hey Frankie thanks for the video, really helpful, I came across it looking for a way to use the FX Send function to connect external effects, but I don't see any way to return the signal, i.e. no aux return inputs. Do you have any idea's how to do this?
I have a question. Can I run a set of 2 passive speakers using the powered outputs and another set of active speakers using the line outputs? Like, can I use Main 2 for a set of 2 active speakers that will sit in another room?
Frankie, I have this sound system and I am wanting to add two subwoofers along with the speakers shown in this video. I have two MTX 150 watt rms/300 watt peak power (8OHMS). Can I add these and if so which outputs would I need to use? thanks!
