I'm very new to this kind of stuff, can I plug a mixer to this? if so, do I just connect the output of the mixer to any channel of the Fender and It should be working?
Helpful video Thanks v much. I picked up one of these recently for very little money. It sounds good to me and will be handy for small gigs. Just thinking about using monitors and maybe other speakers.... Does anyone know what the exact model number is, and also what output in Wattage it pushes out?
Frankie I have this same Passport and you helped me a lot thank you and explained to me what the big nobs were and that little black switch I bought this years ago when I use to DJ on the side and now after it being in my parents basement I got married in 2014 and had to pack it up and move out I leave it at my job now and use it for our Christmas parties in our dealership show room which can only hold 9 cars so its not that big I just play back ground and my boss talks on the mic now I know how to hook it up properly for next weeks party so thank you and have a merry Christmas
George Ranieri thanks for the story, glad the video was helpful. Some features like the black button are a mystery until the lightbulb comes on. Then you wonder why you didn't get it all along. I think the funniest dial is the VIP. Lots of people think the machine is broken because the music stops playing when they use it to sing along!
What I is funny my boss at the end of the party when every one is cleaning up he would pick up the mic and sing a song after a few drinks and the song will cut out and he would be like what the hell why is the song cutting out lol now I know to plug the mic in another spot lol
George Ranieri... lol ...or you can still use channel 1 for the mic and just turn the VIP dial to zero. The music will not fade if the VIP is set to zero. intermediate dial positions will reduce the backgrond music volume to varying degrees when someone uses the mic.

I am uncertain which plugins you are referring to. The two plugins closest to the power switch are labeled "TAPE OUT" and are the red and white jacks that provide stereo outputs of the main mix. To the left of "TAPE OUT" is a plugin labeled "REV / AUX SEND". This sends the rev/aux mix out to an external "effects" processor . Above the "TAPE OUT" plugins is a a plugin labeled " AUX / RET ST". This is where the return signal from and external "effects" processor would insert and send the signal to the left and right stereo channels.
Frankie, I have this sound system and I am wanting to add two subwoofers along with the speakers shown in this video. I have two MTX 150 watt rms/300 watt peak power (8OHMS). Can I add these and if so which outputs would I need to use? thanks!
If I have 2 main speakers and they are both plugged in the Left side like yous is at 8:55 in your video. I have one monitor speaker for the singer to hear themselves plugged into one of the Right side speaker plugs, and the switch is in the main/monitor position. Do I lose my stereo sound or in this case specifically my Left side channel sound that way?
Yes, you lose the stereo sound - the system becomes mono. When the mode switch is in the "Main / Monitor" position, the mono/house mix is derived from the channel sends, the Pan and balance controls becoming inoperative, and the Left Master becomes the mono - House Master control. The monitor mix may now have an entirely different mix than the house, because each channel volume onto the monitor bus is controlled by the REV/AUX dials.
Wow, that sounds really bad (pun intended). It seems it would make the system completely unusable. I cannot explain or advise without additional information. Some basic questions are: 1) When this high pitch occurs, what instruments or mics are plugged into the board? 2) Does this problem occur even when there are no input cables attached? 3) I need to know the dial and button configuration. frankie I let a guy at my job barrow this and I was trying to explain to him how to use it he is having a party at a bar with a private room for his family and he is playing music from his phone. Now on the fender system if he is play music from the phone plugged into the stereo 1 and the black switch pointed down and the speakers plugged into main. Now does he leave left big nob at 12 and control the volume from the stereo 1 volume or control it either one thanks
The simple answer is . . . crank the phone volume to 90% to 100%, set the channel volume at about 50% and the master volume at ~50%. Best to adjust the volume up and down at the channel knob. For more detail . . . read on . . . Volume coming out of the speakers is controlled by numerous amplifiers along the signal path. What you are trying to accomplish is obtain as clean a sound as possible - meaning maximum signal to noise ratio (SNR) with minimum distortion. To get maximum SNR at the output, it is best to amplify the signal as early as possible in the signal path. By doing this, any further amplification down the line will increase the desired signal as well as noise, but the desired signal will remain well separated from the noise. Distortion happens when an input saturates an amplifier's capacity to handle the signal's peak power. Many sound boards will indicate overdriven channels by red LED lights that blink or turn on when max power is exceeded.Unfortunately, the Fender does not have this feature

Hi Sam, The protection light is intended to turn red when the internal amplifier gets overloaded and the protection circuit trips. So either you have input or output connections that are not correct OR possibly your unit is sick and in need of repair. The first test to begin troubleshooting is . . . if you have nothing connected, no inputs and no outputs, and you power up the Fender, does the red light come on? If so, your unit needs to be repaired. Good luck!
It is an older model and the various labels just have the words "Fendor Passport". However, the back label with the serial number has the text "P-250" (Not PD250)
that thing is crap. i paid 800.00 when it first came out blew a channel then just the protection light comes on. i need a trash can to fix it real piece of no bass shit
