A few months ago, I started teaching my 9-year-old daughter how to cook. This is because she sometimes finds herself alone at home after school. While I went through the ingredients with her, she pulled out a pen and paper to take notes.
So, I've decided to record my recipes on video as a reference for her. At the same time, I can share these recipes and simple cooking tips with all the busy parents out there.
As a working professional, I seldom have time to cook. As a father of 3, I want my family to eat healthy and nutritious meals - meals that are tasty enough to satisfy picky eaters and healthy enough for concern parents. This means eating out less, especially at places where we do not know what really goes into the food.
Over the years, I've discovered and modified recipes and cooking techniques to suit busy parents. I hope you find these videos helpful. Please feel free to share your comments and suggestions.

I purchased the same one on Amazon but mine didn’t come with a measuring cup. I was looking for an instruction booklet & there was none. I had to come onto RU-vid to look for videos on how to use it.
I am glad you found this video. I measured my cup and it holds 160ml of water. Work with ratio of rice to water rather than size of the cup. And experiment with cook time. It took me 3-4 attempts to dial in the settings and measurements. Hope this helps. 😀
I bought it from a kitchenware shop in Ang Mo Kio central in Singapore. Sorry, I don't have the name of the shop. But it's the one next to the Broadway building. Hope this helps.

When I mention Vietnamese food, what comes to mind? Probably Pho and Spring Rolls. But many would say they prefer its tastier but less well known cousin, Bun Cha. I ate my way through Hanoi, Vietnam and tried 3 of the highly rated Bun Cha outlets. All of them were great. But each has its own variation in terms of the depth of flavour, the smokiness of the BBQ pork and the balance of sweet and savory. I interviewed Ha, the owner of Bun Cha Ta, whose restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide. She shows us how to eat Bun Cha like a local. I tried this recipe tonight and it was a hit with the family. I don't normally cook with leeks and the western style recipes for cooking leeks seem pretty bland. I came across your channel and your recipe. The chinese cooking wine is the secret ingredient, I reckon. I added some prawns to it but kept fairly to the recipe. The whole dish blends well together. This is a keeper. Thank you for sharing. I've just subscribed 🙂 Keep up the good work!

For those of us figuring out how much rice to cook on what setting to avoid overflowing, It's a REALLY important note that the "rice cup" as used is 180ml, not the same as 250ml metric or 236ml american cup. For rice:water ratio of 1:1.2 in Busy Daddy's video, this suggests 360ml rice to 432ml water. This also explains why testing instructions found online cooking about "2 cups of rice" has often boiled over in my 1200 watt microwave anyway! Today I tried these measurements for my sushi rice (short grain japanese white rice, glutinous/sticky) with a little salt for 15 min on full power in the 1200 watt microwave. It still boiled over a lot more than in Busy Daddy's video, enough that I needed to clean the microwave plate but not so much I needed to clean the microwave! Otherwise the rice is good. The other day I had tried 250ml long grain white to 300ml water and a little salt, on 70% power for 12 min and 5 min rest after. It boiled over a little less than today. The rice was nice but not suitable for onigiri which is what I really bought the cooker for. I'll try to add when I get a better non-boiling-over result in my 1200 watt microwave. I can't figure out @cyranonow's tip about pressing the spoon tip to lift the lid. Mine the spoon just lifts itself out of the hollow. Maybe because mine is a cheap unbranded TEMU knockoff (which didn't come with a "rice cup"). I wish the cooker had vents under the spoon hollow so the overflowed rice water drained back into the pot.
Thank you for this video. My parents never taught me how to cook or clean or rlly just how to function like an adult altogether 😂 i never even heard of cross contamination until i was 20 and i lived two years alone. It's a wonder I'm still alive
Here is a dish that seems to be more famous in the west than in the east. Stir-fry Mongolian Beef is super easy to make and super flavourful. Just make sure your beef is not sliced too thinly and make sure that tenderize the beef well.
