@@chilly7261 I have enough parts to build another, if I remember right. Could you pm your email so I can keep in touch please. I will have questions when I get back to flying. Thanks in advance. Dan
The title of this video is not claiming mine to be the fastest RTR catamaran. That said, it's kinda cool I hit 109 mph on my fastest run, the exact number Oxidean Marine says it will do stock out of the box...
@GreggMundkowsky-pj6zd Thank you for the kind comment. I enjoyed the build and encourage others to try a project like this. I think it's a super cool model of a classic old Unlimited Hydroplane...
@chilly7261 LOL! That explains a lot! Bill does make some wild claims🤷♂️ Good lookin pass though! Hit up Chris hoffman (Das Boata props) for more speed. He's got the right screws to get you over that 120 mark. (I suggest the super geico screws) Pricey, but worth it!
@chilly7261 I have not seen that pass. I respect Big B. So I'll take his word for it. B and I are going boating this afternoon, hopefully we can get some good running content for the channel. We'll both be running our new BJ24s! Should be a good time!
@Wanted1069 I appreciate your response. I'm also not on here to bicker or nitpick others about their content. Mark Gambetta commented here on this video. I encouraged him to get help uploading his videos on RU-vid. He don't know how to do that, and I would love to see his runs... Have fun busting out some fast SAW runs!
@markgambetta1704 Yo! I heard you're laying down some serious speed with the Animal! Would love to see the video posted on RU-vid. Would also appreciate some tuning tips...
SMC 6s 250 c speed run packs, as far forward as possible, straightened out the bottom. Sprayed the bottom with graphite spray not sure if that really helped. Installed the long struts with ball bearings. My big advantage is my lake is perfect for speed runs if I don’t hit the water ski buoys. Just got it put back together gonna try to get it on RU-vid somehow I’m not sure how to do that. Really good props (I ruined them on that last run landed on shore🤦♂️
@markgambetta1704 Thanks so much. Same for me on the CG, it needs to be more forward. Very pitch sensitive. Get help from a computer savvy friend. Your runs should be on RU-vid!
So there's a few channels I watch with the animal and if I'm not mistaken you now have the fastest one. Congrats! Awesome run! And yes that was a little close for comfort lol
Great speed, fastest animal cat I’ve seen. So close to that shoreline. Your reaction sound so similar to mine with my rigger. A lady was walking her dog and said how fast does it go so I showed her the GPS as I read it in shock.
Hey mate I finally got another ABC 1820 for my rigger after losing the last one.Not Dasboata this time Alan Alzer done it.Anyway I just got 118.7 mph. With turn fin still on. I just had to share it with a fellow fast rigger owner.
I’ve been watching all your videos. They are great. Just got my first boat which is only a Spartan SR so only goes half that fast. I run it in a local pond in NS Canada. Lots of fun but I don’t think it’s quite big enough for any 100mph boat. Still having fun for now. Crashed every car I own but not the boat yet. lol
I did what you have done on my 26” ecomaster rigger using only a Seaking pro 120 amp esc (so no data log ) 2968 3400 kv rocket motor. I got 94.5 mph .So far. I only had a tee piece not a Y and It’s got perfectly even flow. A Y would make hose routing so much easier. For me motors are cheap but esc’s are not so up until putting the tee piece in I always took the water to the esc first. Temps are also even
@jamesatkinson7517 I only turned left to take a line more with the wind. But that's a shorter run actually. Riggers don't turn left very good. And early in the run the wake is not a problem...
I believe it how you get on the throttle and I agree with giving it more power initially then gradually getting to 100%. I just logged 97 mph from my 36 inch TL genesis. I’m pretty sure I can get into triple digits as well.
@ModifiedRC0877 I've done a 98mph wheelie into a flip doing a smooth transition. Not good. This way seems better, it's just hard to commit and full send it after blowing it over so many times. Good luck with yours, seems like if you keep testing setups and you'll find more speed...
You would think that a surface battery would be better protected IE a sealed / potted PC board. Smart as in smart marketing. Battery fails so you can run out and buy another.
Probably one of the most helpful videos I have ever watched. I am hoping to have an idle like yours once I take what you said in this video into the field for tuning. Golden advice sir.
Funny, know its not the same since im talking about my mono, but i basically don't run hi-rake anymore since i think it upsets the boat way more than for instance an x-series. Interesting you found same on a cat. My theory is you can compensate speed loss with a bit bigger prop since the ampdraw also is bit less from low(er) rake.... Good solid run
@peteroosterhoff8850 Thank you. I love high rake props because they hold the blast behind them, instead of spraying outwards. More efficient imo. But not good if I can't tune the boat...
@@chilly7261 Your right about they are more efficient. From what i've seen you get the highest speeds with those. My interest would be comparing them in ampdraw and then speed. If you could run 1 or 2mm more diameter with an x-serie, maybe the difference is minimal. Never had a change to compare or measure, but would be interesting i think...
Why do you say that about bill ? His boats are expensive ? There is no law against making money. His boats seam to be high quality. Does he not give good after sales service ? Did he copy someone else’s boat? What is it that you dislike about him so bad you would say what you said?
So noisey must be all that carbon fibre echoing. Are your props inward rotating. ironclad Rc says it’s faster that way. If the cone shape is bigger with the CNC’s ,shouldn’t you have went the other way with the struts seams the wider cone should blow the back up so raising the rear of the struts would counteract the cones sizes effect. Oops I forgot to guess the speed. I was thinking over the hundred because of the length of your full trigger.
@jamesatkinson7517 With the ABC-1817-17-45 high rake props it's blown off at minus 3.8 degrees on the stingers. So back of the stingers were way down to hold the bow down. With these props I'm at minus 1.8 degrees, so stingers still down slightly in the back, but moved up from where they were...
Search Dr. Jet's channel. I'm not sure if he's still producing this kit. Look in the description of his vids for his email and contact him. Here's the link to his channel... youtube.com/@dr_jet?si=deg2UAvW08hrhM20
