greetings, I had a similar problem but I stopped, cleaned the battery contact on the engine and it solved, just reset the odometer completely when it had 4400km again it had 0km after 33km it happened again and this time I couldn't get assistance at home when I got home I washed the bike already prepared to go for assistance, I tested it and the error disappeared, I already did a small lap of 20 km and without problems! I don't know if I take the bike for service or not....
Another one with the E010 error. Scott Genius E-Ride 920 from 2019. After 7700 km I got the dammed error. First time I could wait few minutes to cool the motor and continue the way back home. Today, I got the error as soon as start up the system. No force over the pedals, bike stoped, battery contacts cleaned with electric specific cleaner, speed sensor checked with a tester (circuit closes as soon as the wheel magnet pass by) and working fine. I have read about use the App ST Unlocker to change the gear from 34 to 32 and back to 34 but didn't help me... What's next? If I do not find a solution, I'm gonna open the motor myself to clean and grease the parts. Do you know any tutorial about how to do it? Thanks for you help and good luck with your ebike.
There is a tutorial from a channel called the Yorkshire bike mechanic. Looks very intricate to do it and unlikely to help. I think it is a problem with one of the boards in the motor.
same problem, same bike, 5000 km done; Out of warranty, replaced the battery connectors first, then the battery and finally I'm waiting for the new motor. All at my expense. Shimano should recgonize the defect and replace the motor at a very low price!!
I agree. Looks like a common problem acrossthe line. I to had the same error code and have been priced 900 uk pounds for a new motor from a bike hardly used less than 400 miles in 4 years but because out of warranty they expect us to pay. If I abused and did many years of hard riding I expect to replace myself. Jokers
In the UK you have rights under the consumer rights act. The retailer shares the liability with you for at least three first 5 years. You can see the act on the .gov Web site. "goodsmust work for a cable period of time". For gb expensive bike that's at least 5 years.
I just talked to Shimano. My Bike has only 3000km and they say I have to buy a new motor because the sensor is not working. They do not replace the sensor, but the whole motor. They offer me a new motor for “only” 523€. And they do not give me the old motor back. I find absolutely not correct that a motor has to be changed after only 3000km. It is going to be my last Shimano bike. I was so happy with it and recommended it to everyone. From now on, I will recommend everyone not to get a Shimano.
Same issues for me with Merida E300Q, Shimano steps E5000.....errors unless I apply minimal weight to drive side pedal. It then applies torque lower than normal and clunks as each pedal comes over the top of each stroke, stops and starts each revolution, making a clunking sound as the motor assists in an on/off fashion.
@@jordanlee5002 I haven't, $1000 AUD replacement. I learned to live with it, but as we live in mountain country the shine went off the apple real quick.
Just clean the battery connectors with a cleaner for connectors and you will be ready to ride. It,s very simple and very easy. I suffered that problem also and I made a request to Canyon Bike and what they told me to try, before made the arrangements to send them the bike for checking, was to clean the battery connectors with a connector cleaner, I did it and, as if by magic, I got to sort it out. That was two month ago and so far so good.
Hi guys, I just sent my Commencal Meta Power with E7000 motor, showing the same error. First it displays W013, then it gets stuck on E010. Went through some remote assistance from a Commencal tech, but none of the suggestions worked (check battery properly seated, remove and reattach battery, check latest firmware update). System odometer showed about 500 km ridden. Will keep posted once the bike arrives and I get a reply from the distributor.
@@kingsknightuk yup... The delay is mainly due to logistics under the pandemic. Took about 6 to 8 weeks for the bike to arrive to service, as the courier stopped making deliveries. The bike sat in their warehouse until Commencal reps picked it up (kudos to them). So now it's winter so no riding anyways, but I expect to have the bike back when season starts in September/October.
Just got this bike yesterday, was out last night in the woods,in heavy rain and wind , i covered at least twice the amount of area that i would normally would have done and i went up more hills than i would have done ,it is a fantastic bike The only drawback is the two other guys i was out with could not keep up and i ended up doing my own thing!!
Hi, I have the same problem. Very unhappy, bicycle very expensive and damaged the first day. My bicycle is Lapierre Overbolt 729i double suspension. I speak from Spain, it is incredible that an electric bicycle so expensive does not work or 10 km without having a breakdown.
leopoldo roldan medina Hi 👋 In the moment my second engine is working fine.. for another 1300km... hopefuly it stays like this.. You will will see when the engine is replaced everthing will work fine 👍🏼 Regards from Austria (Worse english... never mind ... mine isn‘t better 😂👋🙈)
I Have the same problem. The first day ,a brand new Merida bike. After 2,5 km. E010 + W013. I now waiting for my bike dealer to fix the problem. I have to say ,I'm very disappointed of the brand Merida. It's my first e-bike. And expensive. And already broken . . Leopold . . Did your bike dealer fix the problem ? New engine ? Are now all problems gone ? ?
I had the same problem in the same bike 😅, merida replaced the engine in a week , but i have read somewhere online the problem with e010 followed by w013 is dirt in the torque sensor (free Wheel) ,the engine must be open , cleaned and greased. my doubt is if the problem still happens with an expired warranty...
I have the same problem on my bike which happens to be the same Merida E-onesixty. Same E010 then W013 . Took it back to the shop and they plugged in to diagnostic . Came up clean , No errors . But as soon as he turned it back on he got E013. The bike has now been sent back for testing and have been told it will probably get NEW motor.
kevin Tyson Hi! You can tell your shop, the only way to fix this Problem is sending the motor back to shimano. If your bike is still in warenty it‘s replaced for free.. I think that the tourque sensor is broken. (but you will never get this information from shimano). Howe much km did you reach with this motor ?
lexusr25 . Yes it's still under warranty and should be getting a new motor. But the motors are not due in till 21st of this month . I have done 1700 miles ( 2700 km ) since getting it at Christmas.
ist a pedalic have e step sensor start the Motor and at the same Moment push the pedals and then come w13 wahn this come push the accu out push the accu in and lets go !!! sorry my english is really bad but i like help ist really easy ;)
FlavonoidzExplosion Hello !! Perfekt bike! But i sold it after a half year! It‘s not the right bike for me... I like very technical trails... for that it‘s too long! I‘ve never had any problems in any weather conditions. Have fun 😎
Ah okey, I'm just incredibly apprehensive about spending alot of money on an E bike if it can't survive the terrible weather in the UK which is where I'm from :) thanks.
Good video! Showed all the import parts and very smooth camerawork! Nicely done! Already bought the bike and just waiting for it to be shipped! Can’t wait, so that’s how I ended up here...
Hi L25,How are you liking the ebike? Have you changed the saddle and grips from stock? I love mine, I have noticed the Merida stickers starting to peel off the battery and if you have your foot on the pedal when powering on you get a 13 error message so have to switch off and on again. I have updated to the latest firmware and changed the shifters inline with conventional for up and down shifts.
MidLifeBiker Hey there! It‘s the perfekt enduro e-bike. I changed sadle and grips from stock because i have them on all off my bikes! I also will change the handlebar because it i too narrow for me... i prever 780mm handlebars 👍🏼 I‘ve got the same Error 13 when‘ve got presure on the pedal. That‘s normal when useing shimano drives... I did not have much time for testing my Bike... but what i can say from my first rides: works perfekt 👌🏼 sorry for my worse english... i‘m from Austria 😂
Dude please reply if you see my comment. In some forums I asked people about Capra carbon frame, and some guys said it's not durable. What can you say about it? Is it worth the price? Or frame is waste for money?
Miri Babayev hey there! I can say it worked perfekt on technical trails in Austria and Italy. I never used it in bikeparks. I also had some hard landings and soft crashes... but it is still working... i love this bike! It works perfekt! Dont worry about the frame!! (Its all about you 😉
Hy "lexusr25" :) I´m from Portugal, and i´m thinking of buying the same bike as you :) The thing is, i just can´t decide between the two sizes: M or L!!!!! I´m 1,75cm with 80cm of inseam. According to the website i should go with size M, but for what i´m reading these bikes are small and i should go with the L... I need all the help i can get :) Can you help me with this? Hope to ear from you soon! Cheers, Vasco
Hi Vasco I'm 184cm and i prefer shorter Bikes. My Capra is L... and i love it.... That depends on your preference. But i think you should take a M...That's my opinion! Greetings From Austria and happy Trails 👍🏼
Hi. Works perfekt on all Terrains. Pedals perfekt ... Nothing to worry about this bike. Just buy... You'll love it! I just changed the Gripps to Syntace and the Front gear from 32 to 30 Teeth. But that's only my personal prefference. And one thing i was really supprised of is: The SRAM Guide works also very good !!!
+lexusr25 everything is tubeless ready, right? All you needed was sealant and valves. Never tried to go tubeless but I want try it, mainly so I can run slightly lower pressures
