I think Classic Sonic in Generations is the best version. I love how the developers apply some 3D elements, such as when he’s running in a spiral downwards in Green Hill, and especially the dynamic camera angle shifts
Frontiers on switch looks like hot garbage and doesnt play super great. So anyways, I beat the game on switch and had a good time. Probably gonna jump to PC the next time I play it though.
I was surprised at how harsh you were are the 30fps on TSR. Did you also not like Crash Team Racing (if you played it?) that game was 30fps on all platforms and everyone loved it.
Depending on what exactly stops this from running on modern hardware. Sonic team could release a patch that includes a few wine and dxvk DLLs. If heroes used an outdated version of directX. Dxvk can translate that into vulkan calls instead.
I was going to say I was going to get the PS4 physical version, but of course Sega had to make a stupid decision for the umpteenth time and somehow limit that version to the $250 collector's edition. Now, I don't know about you, but I ain't paying that much for a video game. I don't care if the steelbook somehow has the secrets to the universe in it; that is just way too expensive. At that price, I’d much rather buy a video game console. Just when Sega was on a roll, they had to fumble it again. At least it's not too big of a deal since I can still get the digital deluxe edition, but it's still extremely frustrating since the PS5, a console I don't own, gets to have a physical edition while the PS4 doesn't. And that's not even talking about how Switch users can't even play the game three days early like everybody else.
Now that I think about it doesn’t it explain in frontiers that for some reason the platforms and stuff are only able to be seen by Sonic because of cyberspace, and in Sonic x shadow generations shadow can obviously see the platforms cuz they’re part of the level. I wonder how they’re gonna explain that
