You've just entered the worst channel on all of RU-vid! Greetings to those unfortunate enough to come across this channel, here at @diskyboy1990 there's all kinds of gaming related content such as song comparisons, lost media videos, gameplay clips, and so on. If you've got any suggestions for the good of this channel, please do not hesitate to leave them wherever. I'm always looking to improve and you guys input can definitely help in that.
I grew up on the NES/Tengen Pacman and never knew there was an arcade version, so the memories of my environment and familiarity with the play mechanics make it my preference.
@@Espartanicawhile i agree people should be allowed to do what ever with their videos, can we please stop the whole "just go watch/play something else" every time criticism is given?
Strangely enough, the Zx spectrum, MSX, C64, and other versions all had come out around the same time during '88 and still perplexes me on why the C64 port is the only 8-bit version that has a scroll to it and at least it's much better than the NES version graphically for better or for worse since they all have similar hardware.
“The NES version is way too hard.” No, no it’s not. The NES version is actually way easier than the arcade version. I am able to pass way more levels than I ever could in an arcade run. The NES version of any arcade game is just so much easier than the arcade for me.
@@idkany293 the original video has quite a few problems. Akward transitions, imbalanced audio, etc. This video improves this issue while also featuring a crisper, newly recorded, voice over in the final half of the video.
@@omero8310 I'm playing this on RPCEmu. It's quite a hassle to get running. This video should mostly help ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gtpdaonk4iM.htmlsi=at-fOaIsi_B6jC0m I recommend that you install RISC OS 3.71 since it's compatible with the most games. You'll also need a program called SparkPlug to play games like this. You can get that from the download in the linked video's description. Other games, like Pac-Mania, come as adf files which you just have to insert into the emulators floppy drive to play.
Low-key the NES version of this song is great, and the MSX does sound quite bouncy with it's synth, but my favorite is the Genesis version as it has more clearly disdinct channels to listen to the song
I just always hated how this track clashed so how with how catchy and bouncy the rest of the soundtrack was, yeah it fits for a pretty desolate final course for Pac Man to traverse through, (p.s SANDBOX world's music is not trash)
0:03 - NES (The Panda Prince) 0:45 - NES (Donkey Kong Country 4) 1:30 - Gameboy Color 2:40 - Gameboy Advance 5:59 - Wii U / Switch (Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze) 8:37 - SNES
Why do people still insist that the Genesis port is awful? It gIves you 3 continues at all times, ghosts all have unique sprites, the pac boost can be enabled in the settings in 3 different ways and the Genesis has a large screen estate to work with, and the music is pretty decent Functionally its a great version and doesn't suffer from horrendous sprite tearing and collision detection like the so-called superior Master System and NES conversions
It's not that it bad, just that it isn't what it should've been. It obviously beats the NES and Master Systems, and the GBA and Atari ST too in my opinion, but amongst the other 16-bits like the Amiga, Archimedes and especially X68000, it falls flat. Graphically, it's drab and lacks color and detail in many places. Musically, it's a mixed bag. This song and Sandbox Land fair well, while Block Town and Jungly Steps utterly fall flat. Gameplay wise, it's perfectly fine but the presentation just isn't what it should've been.
