Locals say say the Deer are mean because tourism is destroying Nara. I personally wouldn't go. It's not your individual actions ruining the place, it's the sheer number of foreigners who are bottlenecking employment opportunities for locals to pretty much just the tourism industry and the local culture in Nara is falling to the wayside as a result.
LMAO I never saw any get aggressive. I mean, they definitely were a few that wanted a biscuit and would come a little too close, but nobody was attacking
